Oh man! I remember this so clearly. His entry was stunning and the music was incredibly exciting. I saw it twice because it was so terrific and brought a friend along for the second one. It was videotaped and broadcast on PBS and I would give a lot for that tape to be released again. I have no idea why it has disappeared so completely. I keep hoping that it will show up on the Met on Demand to which I subscribe, but not even the audio has come up.
Rinaldo was sung by the also wonderful Marilyn Horne and her singing of "Venti turbini" was also sublime. Incidentally, the Met Opera archive database lists only 10 performances of Rinaldo in the house. The remaining 11 performances were in the parks and on tour in other cities. And, of the park performances, only the performance in Central Park had the original cast. The whole thing was a revelation of how exciting baroque opera could be.

Thank you for your great comment! So we do have hope that some day a video recording will become available! There is nothing I wouldn't give to see it--and yes, you are right, there is no mention even on Met on Demand :-( We need to make a petition to the PBS to release the video ✊
