I did my research and actually originally it was nightcore. Alvin and the chipmunks released in 2007 and from that the chipmunk parrodies of songs we're born however nighcore comes from norwegian band Nightcore which released sped up versions of songs in 2002 so chipmunks hijacked the train for a bit but it was and returned to being nightcore
@fanofeveranimeever, but the chipmunk parodies are based on the 2007 movie with the higher pitched voices. Also night core is at a fast speed than chipmunk versions.
@@TH3H3LLR41S3R The show from the 60s also had the higher pitched voices. Although I don't think the 60s show has much to do with the invention of Nightcore compared to Nightcore itself and the 2007 movie
Yeah I knew about this and it always annoyed me when people called Nightcore "chipmunk versions" of songs like 10 years ago Cause like first of all there is a difference between them! Chipmunk versions "traditionally" we're usually only pitched up! They were the same tempo but just pitched While Nightcore was sped up which increased the pitch as well but the important part was the faster playing
Tbf ppl on tikTok do it to circumvent copyright issues and getting their audios claimed lol. TikTok tends not to have the whole songs and then mute ppl who post them to use so ppl speed them up so the detection system doesn’t catch rm
The only time you need to specify tiktok version I think is when it adds something to the song that isn’t originally there like the “pink pony club” song with the phantom of the opera on the background
I think it may have been my first one too, or another one that was similar. It was back in 2014, but I still consume nightcores (I recommend UNDERDOGS, their music selection is pretty good) to this day
This is some serious bullshit. Nightcore and Chipmunk were *totally* different. Nightcore was speeding up the music (which naturally increased the pitch of the song) and chipmunk was up-pitching the song (preferably just the vocals and layering them over the original song.) They are NOT the same.
Kid I knew in middle school told me that his favorite band was nightcore. I'd never heard of nightcore music before, and was omega confused when I actually tried to look up the "band" 😂
To be fair there is a "Slight" different between "Chipmunk" and "Nightcore" "chipmunk" remixes aim to pitch shift the song to sound like "Alvan and the Chipmunks". You can have a Chipmunk remix that is the same speed as the original via editing "Nightcore" remixes aim for speed, they want to change the pace of the beat and tempo. It being pitch shifted is merely a side effect. Some nightcores never become "chipmunked" because they aren't sped up enough to pitch shift. Or the pitch shift was lessened in editing.

There was a cartoon of Alvin & the chipmunks that dates back to 1961, I believe it was a tv show and they did sing/have music
Oh my god, that’s such a cool fact

i think it’s also since tik tok vids are short form you can fit more song into less time by speeding it up
The only time you need to specify tiktok version I think is when it adds something to the song that isn’t originally there like the “pink pony club” song with the phantom of the opera on the background
The way i see it, its nightcore if the speeding up is generally regarded as improving the song, chipmunk if its just made to sound funny
Welcome to the club now -nightcore 10h versipn with a blue dj girl. Loved it i still remember the sound after 10+years
"Wabatee f??"
First Nightcore song I played. Monster by Skillet. That song will always have a place in my heart
No wait there is skillet nightcore? 😮
@ yea. Look it up.

Nightcore 10 years ago was the shit
I would listen to nightcore kesha and emo music nonstop
Nightcore was a staple in my teen years and my mom absolutely hated it. I kinda still listen to some nightcore today. 😂.
Some great nightcore edits also tweak the base to make it more impactful
If a nightcore song has crummy base, it tends to not enter my playlists
Kid I knew in middle school told me that his favorite band was nightcore. I'd never heard of nightcore music before, and was omega confused when I actually tried to look up the "band" 😂
There was an actual band called Nightcore that originated the genre.
chipmunk and nightcore sounded different to me.

Then we got anti-nightcore not daycore missed opportunity.
It was called daycore as well, though. Look it up!
@martina6700 I know, but at the time, people who uploaded it called it anti-nightcore. Instead, it was a trend.
no they did call it daycore
Dishonored is so peak bro
Chipmunk version is funnier but nightcore is prettier (i listen to a lot of Nightcore still)
I never liked nightcore, but it doesn't matter if it's "chipmunk voice" or "tiktok version" Nightcore is the proper term.
It's called mid.
breh, whabba t f?
