When Aang was looking for Appa he was sure as shit ready to kill the Sand and Earth Benders who captured him. He would kill in cold blood and not blink if it was about Appa
I was thinking the same thing. I have been hit in the head with a PLASTIC boomerang, and that s**T hurt I hazard a guess that a sharp pointy metal one would at the VERY least concuss someone
@@VirtuousWanderer..... The top is a metal club, the mid point is a blade and the bottom is a handle. He's actually cut things with the boomerang by throwing it and has used it as a hammer at times. If a metal flying hammer with a blade on the side hit you on the side of the head you'd probably not be okay..... But zuko survived a few explosions somehow so it'd likely do nothing to him.
Are we ignoring the fact that the Gaang sunk Fire Nation ships? Crashed the blimps full of Fire Nation soldiers? Dropped boulders on Fire Nation invaders? There’s multiple instances where the “no killing” idea is just straight up not a thought.
Zuko might have been disquieted to learn of plans to kill him if he betrayed them but not surprised. He seemed mature and pragmatic enough to be accepting of the idea.
Aang would have had to be 50% more emotionally unstable. He is and was an Airbender at heart and he cherished the values of an Airbender. Even in his darkest moments he refused to compromise on his values.
Really the only difference between his former life and current predicament is that his father and sister only kept him alive because he wasn’t enough of a threat to kill. But now he has to prove to the gaang that he genuinely isn’t a threat.
They actually have alot more in common then u think They're both rich kids from misunderstood families, both learned bending from the sources (I feel like Zuko would have learned Dragon bending from iroh because he had more patience with his uncle then Azula did and thats why his bending wasn't as showy as his sisters)
Toph easily carried the whole gaang and would have taken on the Firelord Solo with no issues. Sokka went from being completely useless at the start of the series to being one of the strongest and smartest fighters, even without bending, and even managed to kill Combustion Man.
Ozai using his fire bending to fly means Toph would have been totally cooked, both figuratively and literally. The moment someone isn’t touching the ground she’s just normal-person blind to them. This was shown the first episode she appears in. During her fight with Aang, she’s unable to sense where he is when he uses his air bending to briefly hover above the ground. Also, in the final episode she states that she can’t see anything outside of the airship that her, Sokka, and Suki are on. If she were more like Dare Devil, who uses his hearing to make up for sight and then some, she’d have a chance, but she uses her feet to sense vibrations in the ground/floor/surface around her, which they need to be touching for it to work, or at least touching something connected to it, like standing on a tree branch, probably. Dare Devil’s hearing could make up for what Toph’s earth bending sense lacks: perception of things not touching the ground or at least things connected to it, like birds.
@@matthewsherman2085 while I mostly agree with you. I feel like you wouldn't need Daredevil level of hearing to hear the flames needed to lift a person into the air. Sure Toph would be at a major disadvantage because she isn't used to using her hearing to judge where someone is to fight. But because of it being fire they wouldn't be invisible to her the way Aang was with air bending.
@ absolutely. But I meant more in terms of Toph trying to target Ozai for an attack like launching a boulder(s) at him, as opposed to knowing when and from what direction to defend from his attacks. Ozai would not be close enough for Toph to feel the heat from his fire bending used to fly. Sure she might be able to hear it but not precisely enough for a targeted attack the same way she could if he was on the ground. I imagine she’d get pretty close though. But now that I think about it, in the the comic series that takes place after the show (specifically the first comic, The Promise), she’s able to launch herself into the air and land on Appa’s back while he’s in flight by using her hearing. So maybe she wouldn’t be as screwed as I first thought. But landing on a large friendly moving platform is much different from a battle with something smaller, faster, and evil like Ozai. I still don’t think it would be a quick battle, especially if Ozai keeps Toph on the defensive.
@ Toph gets burned by Zuko's least threatening fire blast. Even if she knew it as coming she is not hearing or feeling fire before it hits her. This is before we talk about Sozins comet. There is no skill in Toph arsenal that can beat a Sozin's comet boosted Ozai. Aang is by far the most talented individual on that squad. No member on that team has the knowledge to interpret, understand, and utilize all bending disciplines. Its like speaking four different conflicting languages. So OP is just like wrong.
Nah, this is pure delusion. Katara and Sokka were willing to kill all along, but Zuko was so actively good that they almost never got opportunities to do so.
No, they don’t reappear after that. However, the wiki does say that they somehow managed to escape and gave up on trying to catch her, with Yu (the teacher guy) going back to his role as an Earth-bending teacher. Nothing is said about What happened to Xin Fu after they escaped and (probably) parted ways.
They're mentioned again in the comics but never seen again. And just because they might have survived doesn't mean it wasn't pure chance someone stumbled upon them with the equipment to get them out of there.
Some of the avatar fandom is so fkn delusional. The only person who wasnt murdering zuko via actively holdng back themselves was aang. And that was partially a 2 way street, as zuko couldnt murder aang either
True, until Zuko stopped chasing them they couldn't have killed him if they wanted. He last fought one on one when Katara just started training with a master and it was so even the sun decided the matchup. However, after that point, she absolutely could have killed him and would have in season 3 if he tried something stupid. The best part of The Southern Raiders is watching Zuko experience a series of "I'm so glad I changed before I had to fight this woman."
@cantaloupegodling352 I disagree. Kamara definatly had the capacity to win against zuko after that, but it was by no means the guarenty, or even better bet that you are presenting it as. Zuko wasn't some pushover
@@anthonypolonkay2681 Katara defeated Azula, one on one, during Sozin's comet. She was off her game, sure, but she was still about on Zuko's level. Without the comet boost she definitely could've beaten either and that's without her boost of "You betrayed me and got someone I care about literally killed." that she'd get if Zuko tried to fight her in season 3.
@cantaloupegodling352 katara beat azula in that situation purely by happenstance of having a drainage grate of water underneath them that azula just wasn't paying attention to. Up until that point she was having to duck and run because she just couldn't compete with the output of a comet boosted firebender. Which makes sense. She shouldn't be able to do that. In terms of if she had to FIGHT azula in that scenario in the same way zuko was fighting her, she would have not had a chance of winning that. I get very tired of people acting like Kamara was some magnum force of bending. She was strong sure. But acting like she would absolutly wipe the floor with zuko, season 3, or otherwise is some more of that delusional Fandom bs. The only real game ender Kamara really has against anyone else I'm the group is bloodbending, which 1, is a 1 night a month thing. And 2 was a stupid thing to add to the show anyways because it added nothing to the narrative. In any meaningful way. And it's very stupid to break a part of the meta of your magic system in a story soley for cool points. Which is exactly all bloodbending was. Also sorry it keeps auto correcting "katara" to "kamara" idk why it's doing that.
He also had a crisis after he saw Katara literally bloodbend because that’s when he realized under the right conditions, he doesn’t stand a chance against her anymore.
Sokka was explicitly a child soldier. Katara grew up in the same semi occupied territory. Toph grew up wealthy, but in a land being attacked regularly by the Fire Nation. Only Aang and Zuko fully knew peaceful lands in their childhoods. Zuko had a hard time, but Sokka and Katara had it harder, and were willing to kill him in season one
Would Zuko even have such a crisis? I mean, he joined after confronting his father who straight up wanted to murder him with lightning. He ain't a rookie when it comes to facing people that could and would kill him.
The crisis is because he's realizing he was playing with his life the whole time. Zuko always knew his father was violent and willing to hurt him. Finding out that silly group of kids you were harassing could have murdered you in a heartbeat is an actual shock.
Also you can see zukos eyes widen as he sees katara use blood bending on that fire nation captain, at that moment he knew katara meant what she said when he first got accepted in the group
Katara bloodbending in the Southern Raiders in front of Zuko has the same energy as a Spider-Man villain watching Peter effortlessly punch through like a foot and a half of solid concrete because he was angry that day It’s like, “holy shit they could do that??? okay pause, we’re not doing this today”
To be fair to Toph, she did leave them in the middle of a road, so depending on how busy that road usually is they were probably found decently quickly.
First fight scene of the show is sokka going toe-toe with Zuko for a good minute. No bending. Not specially trained yet. Late game Sokka would've clapped his cheeks without a second thought
y'know it's also worth noting that Zuko was *also* perfectly cool with and capable of murder in the event he needed to. like, the guy who single-handedly snuck into a fortified location to rescue the Avatar from some of the most elite Fire Nation troops? Zuko was *literally* playing Assassins Creed.
The 2 Bonnie hunters that were after tough were on a road. In the earth nation , which was operating as if there was no war , so travel would have been frequent.
I would also like to point out that even if the 2 earthbenders could metalbend, their hands were locked in place, they couldn't metalbend even if they knew how
In all honestly the whole metal box situation I'm pretty sure it's been stated that they appear in the comics is that apparently they both did manage to get out of the box because someone found it
A ton of Aangs avatar state moments show him destroying all his enemies, and they expect us to believe none of them died?! Especially the scene where he merges with the ocean spirit at the end of book one…👀
The two Earth benders Toph trapped survived and appear in later comics, which are canonical. And even without that, she trapped them on a road, not on some sort of isolated little path deep inside the woods. It is obvious it was only a matter of hours before someone finds them
Im sorry but every earthbender has caused severe damage such as cracked skulls broken bones ribs suffocating There are no water bending healers in the earth kingdom Also katara may have caused frost bite from the amount of people she just left frozen in place Sokka used a club knocking people unconscious with metal helmets The gaang left a wake of dead or horribly disabled people
Aang was ready to kill the sand benders but Katara stopped him and when he saw Gyatso dead he looked ready to go on a war path and he stopped himself from killing Ozai at the last second, Katara was inches away from murder but had a moral compass at the very last milisecond, Toph was willing to let her two kidnappers rot away in a metal box knowing they could never get out unless someone came to rescue them(which apparently someone did), Sokka actually killed Combustion Man, and they all collectively nearly let Zuko die i think twice but Aang talked them into helping him.
I mean, Aang did save him when he was wearing the blue spirit mask, even after seeing who it was. And I'm surprised Toph didn't accidentally kill a ton of people doing things like launching them off cliffs thinking it was a short drop or something.
Sokka also totally killed Combustion Man, not entirely intentionally but like you throw a boomerang at someones forehead you know whats going to happen
You mean sparky boom man?

It’s like the lesson Gandolf taught Bilbo and Frodo “sometimes it’s better to spare a life” cause you never know what impact they can have on yours
Like biting off your finger
When Aang was looking for Appa he was sure as shit ready to kill the Sand and Earth Benders who captured him. He would kill in cold blood and not blink if it was about Appa
And Katara if he had been a more knowledgeable Bender when Katara died that particular section of the earth Kingdom would have been turned upside down
“We can’t just leave him here to die!” “Sure we can, lets go!”
Thus Zuko is the only character in the series who never murdered or killed anyone.
And he was the one trying 😭😭
-(I know he wanted to take Aang alive but a few times he almost unalived him for accident)-
Yeah right his dual swords only hurt a little jajajajaa
So fun fact Sokka would have 100% murdered Zuko had he not been wearing a helmet in episode 2😂
You do know azula servived getting hot by it at one point

A live action Toph needs to be played by Terry Cruise and you can't change my mind on that.
She would love that!
At the very least, Ember Island Players Toph does.
Are they really going to ignore the combustion bender dude soka caused the death of??
It wasnt intentional though. Combustion man was manslaughter at worst
Straight up self defense. But combustion man attempted his "thing" with a minor concussion, and blew himself up.
HEY!
His NAME is SPARKY SPARKY BOOM MAN
GET IT RIGHT😤
Eh, that guy had it coming.
"You done fucked up A-Ang!"
😂😂😂
Zuko realizing that he was more of a pest than a threat to these superpowers teens.
Really the only difference between his former life and current predicament is that his father and sister only kept him alive because he wasn’t enough of a threat to kill. But now he has to prove to the gaang that he genuinely isn’t a threat.
Toph and Zuko shouldve had a romance just because i feel like Zuko needs more scary women
Toph x Zuko is the sleeper ship that more fans should be tuned into imo
i have mixed feelings but id read this
Toph is the man in the relationship.
They actually have alot more in common then u think
They're both rich kids from misunderstood families, both learned bending from the sources (I feel like Zuko would have learned Dragon bending from iroh because he had more patience with his uncle then Azula did and thats why his bending wasn't as showy as his sisters)
Absolutely not!! Toph was 12 and Zuko 16!! That age gap is far to big at that point in time!!
I'm pretty sure the bounty hunters survived somehow, but Toph sure didn't know that
Toph easily carried the whole gaang and would have taken on the Firelord Solo with no issues.
Sokka went from being completely useless at the start of the series to being one of the strongest and smartest fighters, even without bending, and even managed to kill Combustion Man.
This a complete fictitious account of the series that is already entirely fictional.
So basically anng the stable one and his constantly killing people without realizing. everyone else just does it anyway without hang up
Oh yeah if they just had 3% less impulse control.
Aaaand that's why Azula is the favorite child. Zuko is too kind. 😂
Nah, this is pure delusion. Katara and Sokka were willing to kill all along, but Zuko was so actively good that they almost never got opportunities to do so.
Aang literally say "ni kills" they could kill zuko multiple times, he whas not powerfull enought before hes grown arc
it was on a road between two major cities, im sure they'd be found within the day.
Those earth benders didn't starve to death though. I'm pretty sure we see them at a later point in the series.
They might’ve escaped but I doubt Toph was intending for them to.
They're mentioned again in the comics but never seen again. And just because they might have survived doesn't mean it wasn't pure chance someone stumbled upon them with the equipment to get them out of there.
I have never heard the term Gaang, but I love it
The two in the iron box survived to tell the theatre about the gang
Those two earth benders were freed and if I recall correctly helped in the invasion of the fire nation.
No the wrestlers helped. But they were probably saved
Basically Aang is the moral back bone of the group
Lol yes, Toph is unbothered after she left tbem in that metal box!😂
Would Zuko even have such a crisis?
I mean, he joined after confronting his father who straight up wanted to murder him with lightning.
He ain't a rookie when it comes to facing people that could and would kill him.
The crisis is because he's realizing he was playing with his life the whole time. Zuko always knew his father was violent and willing to hurt him. Finding out that silly group of kids you were harassing could have murdered you in a heartbeat is an actual shock.
And he couldn't find them, not because they are so smart, but because aang wanted to have fun 😂😂
Also you can see zukos eyes widen as he sees katara use blood bending on that fire nation captain, at that moment he knew katara meant what she said when he first got accepted in the group
Nah Zoko knows the fire breathe, he can keep himself heated like the boom boom woman in the korra
I really like the theory that he didn't know their names at first. Regardless I love the awkwardness of him joining them
everyone's a badass until the murder hobbit joins the party
Aang: "I don't kill people"
*throws a 50mph Honda Civics worth of air at a random fire nation soldier*
Katara bloodbending in the Southern Raiders in front of Zuko has the same energy as a Spider-Man villain watching Peter effortlessly punch through like a foot and a half of solid concrete because he was angry that day
It’s like, “holy shit they could do that??? okay pause, we’re not doing this today”
We've done it, AI actually made the pronunciation of Aang's name from the live action adaption slightly more bearable.
Toph: I'm the best earth bender around, AND DON'T YOU KNUCKLE HEADS FORGET IT!!!
"You are alive purely for plot reasons, you half done nugget"
Nah, I refuse to believe that the writers would have left those men to starve to death...
I mean they stole her and she outsmarted and overpowered them. She deserved that w
Zuko switching teams, only to find out that he never stood a chance 🤣
Not to mention all of the fire nation army soldiers, they threw off the Zeppelin's into open water wearing full armor.
the chad iroh wouldnt let that slide
Let’s not forget he probably saw Katara start blood bending and was like “holy shit thank god she never used this on me”
I think the boulder escaped. But now I gotta look back and go down the rabbit hole
Zuko: You could have killed someone!
Team Avatar: WE?!
This feeling... I don't know what it is but I like it
Imagine if zuko had gone after aang after apparently went missing. Desert arc aang was a different breed of crashout.
The 2 guys toph left in the box would either die of heatstroke or dehydration before starvation.
y'know it's also worth noting that Zuko was *also* perfectly cool with and capable of murder in the event he needed to.
like, the guy who single-handedly snuck into a fortified location to rescue the Avatar from some of the most elite Fire Nation troops? Zuko was *literally* playing Assassins Creed.
The 2 Bonnie hunters that were after tough were on a road. In the earth nation , which was operating as if there was no war , so travel would have been frequent.
Not to mention, Katara also just got a crash course on bloodbending prior to him defecting.
Hell in the first episode, zuko could have killed every single person in the water tribe with ease
If Aang took after Kiyoshi, the series would have been two books.
Zuko seeing Katara bloodbend for the first time: when did she learn that WHEN EXACTLY DID SHE LEARN THAT?! HOW AM I STILL ALIVE?!
Explains why Zuko has to solve their unstable emotions after he joined.
For survival
People just forget a bunch of people trown off clifs, ships and mid air, many of them just die.
Nah, the two guys in the box didn’t starve.
They died of dehydration.
Those guys are in the show later, they got out of that box
"And I certainly never used it too take a life"
Toph and Sokka teaming up together is like giving Sokka a gun (Toph is the gun)
I would also like to point out that even if the 2 earthbenders could metalbend, their hands were locked in place, they couldn't metalbend even if they knew how
In all honestly the whole metal box situation I'm pretty sure it's been stated that they appear in the comics is that apparently they both did manage to get out of the box because someone found it
I think the two earthbenders are okay. They were on a well used road, so someone could have came up to it and get help.
None of them were "okay" with murder
I'm pretty sure the comics showed they were still alive, but I get your point in that she did leave them for dead.
The two people in the box--the boulder and her teacher--did survive. The teacher makes an apprarance in the comics post the series
A ton of Aangs avatar state moments show him destroying all his enemies, and they expect us to believe none of them died?! Especially the scene where he merges with the ocean spirit at the end of book one…👀
Aang was the only one who wasn't Okay with murder.
The two Earth benders Toph trapped survived and appear in later comics, which are canonical.
And even without that, she trapped them on a road, not on some sort of isolated little path deep inside the woods. It is obvious it was only a matter of hours before someone finds them
The Earth benders didn’t die of starvation.
They would’ve died of dehydration.
why is this so hilariously true?!
Im sorry but every earthbender has caused severe damage such as cracked skulls broken bones ribs suffocating
There are no water bending healers in the earth kingdom
Also katara may have caused frost bite from the amount of people she just left frozen in place
Sokka used a club knocking people unconscious with metal helmets
The gaang left a wake of dead or horribly disabled people
If the Avatar world worked in line with real world physics, yes. But it works according to cartoon logic, so no.
He also lost his fire best arc ever, him loosing the fire and having to find him again
Sokka killed dozens of fire nation troops on the blimps with a boomerang.
All Zucko had to do was kidnap Appa. Boom instant death wish
Yo Aang likes to preach nonviolence but he defo murdered some dudes during that whole Earth Kingdom General episode, semi unintentionally
Katara at that point had very likely killed/drowned fire nation soldiers as they were hiding on that fire navy ship
I mean, Aang did save him when he was wearing the blue spirit mask, even after seeing who it was. And I'm surprised Toph didn't accidentally kill a ton of people doing things like launching them off cliffs thinking it was a short drop or something.
Toph would have straight up buried Zuko in a landslide, while laughing like a lunatic as she road it right over him.
Starving to death would have taken awhile since one had food after awhile. They'd have likely suffocated.
