This being possible means that NPCs could have taken care of the whole Cthulhu situation by themselves but they just made you do it
Tbf the dryads already did most of the work but the others really don't get an excuse except maybe the guide during wof but thats it

This is actually insane. I thought this would be impossible for sure, and I genuinely believed it was all over at almost every obstacle and was confused at the amount of time remaining in the video. Your ideas are incredibly smart, what dedication!
4:05 “any other new NPCs I can get” Party Girl was actually available at this stage already, most people think she’s not pre-boss but she is!
Possible, but not practical. In my usual Terraria run, I don’t get Party Girl until Hardmode, not cos of conditions being unmet but because of waiting for the rare chance she shows up
@@IGuyAF wait she’s supposed to be rare pre-hardmode? I got her pretty early on in my first playthrough in a few years on Xbox. Now the god damn stylist on the other hand is what’s *keeping* me from entering Hardmode, I have no clue where she spawned, I’ve heard she’s supposed to spawn in spider biomes but I’ve only found one and she wasn’t there.

@@isaiahschmitt8680 no that’s the issue, I only found that one spider biome recently, and I have went back to it a few times, she isn’t there.
@@Slender_Man_186 try using water candles and battle potions to up the spawn rate, as the webbed stylist is technically a rare enemy. With a hunter potion, they glow green, and they show up on the lifeform analyze.r I believe having a larger spider biome helps avoid other enemies spawning,. Also, why do you need them pre-hardmode? They're available during hardmode too.
This is a ridiculous amount of effort for such a tedious challenge, I commend your dedication 🙏 I hope this video gets much more attention as it deserves it

not only did you complete a tedious as hell challenge, but you also did some really impressive builds in the process! i didnt expect that level of building when i clicked on this video but it made me so much more intrigued.
also the constant events in the early game just made me feel bad LMAO

The concept of this run makes me wonder, could you beat terraria using only things sold by NPCs? You'd probably have to start in Not The Bees so you could sell your starter tools and buy a new copper pick and axe from the Merchant. I'd love to see if it's possible!

Sorbet Cafe beat the game using only the lawnmower. So yes, it absolutely is possible.
@@greyskies5115 They only sort of did their power went out midway and lowered it's hp not using a lawnmower to get back there
Minor thing, for the brain/eater fight you can actually build npc housing in corruption/crimson. There's an obscure mechanic where sunflowers counteract the biome, so if you place like 100 or so sunflowers they move in like nothing is wrong.
super impressive, Something i thought of that would've helped you big time at the end would've been using Recall potions instead of a magic mirror
A lot of people forget about them since MM exists but recalls are actually slightly better, unlike the mirror which has a bit of delay recalls are instant on the teleport and would've made dodging the tentacle a lot easier!

I still prefer the mirror, because it's just one, infinitely usable item. I actually rarely use the mirror in a boss fight. If you need it, you're probably doing something wrong.
Magic Mirror is infinitely usable though, and who knows how many times he had to do this.
Another solution is to use the Nurse. The Moon Lord can only heal while you have the Moon Bite debuff, and it can be cured by the Nurse. It would require a lot of money, but it could be done
For that part I would actually suggest to nurse heal since she can heal moon bite
@@ianluk8855 I'm not sure how reliable finding a Nurse in that NPC cluster is, and I assume she needs to be in it, otherwise NPCs would die really quick. But outside of NPC only run, that seems like a good idea.

To be fair I excepted the entirety of hardmode to be done with the truffle,great video!
This gives me an idea for a mod... where you can ask NPCs to join you on your adventure through the world and get their support, giving certain buffs depending on who's following you and otherwise acting sort of like a summon
I've always imagined something like this. But it's any and all npcs, and you can help train them, and use your older gear to equip them with better items.
The princess is a child, so you basically beat this challenge by using child soldiers.
One challenge that might be interesting is a challenge where you only get to use armor, weapons, and trinkets that are sold by NPCs, it could be a dynamic challenge. Items they already sell like arrows from a merchant dropped from outside source would be fine to use or maybe not its up to you how restrictive the challenge is
This challenge looks absolutely painful but the dedication you put into this challenge and this video makes it really entertaining. This is extremely underrated as well and I hope to see more content like this in the future

Based on the build quality, I assumed you’d done this in Journey Mode, but no. Because you had copper tools at the start, this was a normal playthrough, so huge props to you for not only dealing with the terrible NPC AI, but also grinding all the materials to make your super impressive builds!

Btw, if it ever occurs again, that the magic mirror isn't fast enough, you can use recall potions instead, teleporting home instantly.
But that was just a hint, I mean you made it pretty damn well!

This was a really grat video with great editing, but i would have liked to see more of the actual damage the NPCs were doing. We didn't get to see a lot of their DPS or the fight themselves which is the whole reason we're watching for this challenge.
Also the moonlord fight apparently took an hour, but the viewer didnt feel yoyr pain or relate because of the editing

Really quality video. Great edits, interesting and difficult challenge, and very to the point with basically no superfluous filler. Literally my only complaint is that I occasionally couldn’t tell if you were doing voiceover or a live reaction, but that’s a super mild nitpick.

Also, regarding on the slow teleport speed of magic mirror, a recall potion actually faster, way faster to use than magic mirror and will give a higher dodge rate from the tentacle (not like you'll go through all this again, but just as a fun fact)

I mostly enjoyes your building, including the rooms in the cutscenes, awesome. I oftem forget how much softer enemys are on easy mode, I've been playing Master since they released it and the same for Expert, no just for the challenge, but I have a thing for exclusive drops... And now that I discovered there are seeds ("secret seeds") that spawn with both evil biomes I'll neve ever play any other way LOL

I know it’s a bit late but you can have npcs move into infected biomes if you plant a lot of sunflowers around because it’s a meter for infection and each block on screen is 1 point and each sunflower removes 50 points. I did this in my zenith seed play through
