Yes ofcourse.. it just adds the different texture. You can totally skip it or add any vegetables of your choice 🙂

If my child does not eat it as it is because its too thick for him, can i feed him with a little bit puree of sweet potatoes and carrots

How young is your baby? After 1 year a baby can easily eat this type of mashed food. You shouldn't feed puree food for too long otherwise transition will be hard and your baby will not show interest towards any food except the pureed one.
