    A very professional review with a balanced presentation. I really liked the use of a ruler to illustrate its depth. The height is more than the competition, so the depth is not a problem. Amazon has an excellent package of small driftwood that fit perfectly. As you point out, this is a very attractive tank that I find fits perfectly on the edge of a desk. The filter is top notch and the water flow is excellent. The light is perfect for healthy plants.

      Thank you very much! I try to cover all angles when I do reviews because we all want something for different reasons! Overall I agree it's a great tank.

    Thank you! Can only fit a little tank in my current house and this is the one I'm starting to have my heart set on so this video has been so useful! Especially since I know now for sure that this is good for a live plant set up which is what I'm hoping for. Thanks again-new

    It’s nice to see a Canadian do a Betta channel regarding CND $

      Thanks! I definitely like to specify because most people will assume it’s USD. I love not having to convert to CND when watching videos. 😅

    I have a betta in this tank and am wondering if the water needs to be high enough to flow into the open slits where the filtration area is?

    Thank you for the video!.
    Question?,...
    I just set up a 5 gal. Spec, ( i commented on your set-up video earlier ), & noticed that you put the heater in the pump compartment, will that adequately heat the tank from that area?,... I placed my Fluval heater directly in the middle back.
    I think it would definitely look better if it was hidden.
    Thank you!.
    All the best,
    Peter 🐟 🐠 🎣🐡

      no matter where you put it will heat the whole tank if its the right wattage i have the same tank with a heater in the pump compartment and a thermometer on the other side and it shows the right temp all over the tank

    Question:
    I noticed you have a snail in your tank… what do you to do keep it away from the sun ruin filter? I had one and he got sucked in it and died 😔

    • @BetterBetta
      @BetterBetta  Год назад

      I wish I could give you a good answer, but unfortunately I didn’t do anything special! I’m so sorry to hear about your snail! I would maybe recommend putting some filter floss, mesh, or something of the sort over it somehow if you ever get another snail?

    So which fluval tank u think still the best

    • @BetterBetta
      @BetterBetta  2 года назад

      I have only used two fluval tanks so far, the first being this one and second being the fluval flex 9 gallon. Out of those two, I’d say the Flex is a lot more universal (lights have various colours and settings so they can be as bright or as dim as you need, square base so a little more decorating options, not that much bigger overall, but still has all the nice perks of Fluval’s filter system. I’d recommend that one over the Spec if I had to choose one of the other, even though the spec has its good points too! I will do a full review on that tank in the future too. 😊

      I don’t unfortunately - I actually haven’t heard of that tank before!

    with the strong filter flow, the suction (input, where the water is pulled in.) would be too strong for a betta correct? and not great for snails because of the opening at the top? Thank you for sharing. I love this tank

      If you plan on having nerite snails I wouldn’t worry, I have 2 nerites in my 5 gal. Betta tank with 5 ghost shrimp in there. I don’t have my tank covered with a lid and none of my creatures have ever jumped. Results may vary for you but then again I just keep my water parameters very stable and the tank itself is so seasoned it can run on its own with no water change for a few weeks at a time.

      I see some others have helped you out, I’ll second that I wouldn’t worry about the snails! I briefly had to keep a snail in this tank - a mystery snail - that are known escape artists, and mine never escaped. The gap in the middle might be hard to get too for the snails, as they’d have to crawl upside down from the side. That part is just a guess though, I may be underestimating their agility haha. The filter output is strong for bettas, but the input hasn’t been an issue. I did have to put a sponge over the output spout though.

      Thanks for the video it'll help me make a decision for an upgrade. Some questions..do the lights use more wattage than regular ones? Can u use different biomedia other than wats provided? Does the foam insert that houses the bio/chemical media serve as the mechanical media? And has there been any cases with leaking at all with anyone?

    how do you keep yours from being so cloudy?

    • @BetterBetta
      @BetterBetta  Год назад +1

      I personally haven’t had an issue with it being cloudy, but there are a couple reasons this could be happening: if it’s a one-time thing, it could be that your ceramic rings in your filter needed a better rinse (could make the water cloudy), but that’s unlikely and won’t be recurring. If your filter media hadn’t been changed in a while, it will have trouble cleaning the water, so I’d recommend giving it a rinse and replacing media if needed. If that doesn’t fix it, it could just be a matter of a faulty filter, or too much bio load. If there are too many or high-waste-producing fish in the tank, it will unfortunately be too much for the filter to handle and will likely cause this issue. Hope this helps a little!

      @@BetterBetta I only have one betta in it. I think fluval just didn't put too much thought into this one. I even got a in tank medía filter which is very good and it helped alot also got a surface skimmer fron in tank and that also helped. But maybe I'll just take out the plastic wall and run it with a aquaclear 20 and I'm sure that will take care of the problem.
      Thanks for replying. 💯👍🏼
