Do Ukrains really hold joining the EU that important? Aside Germany and France (now in real financial troubles) Did they see what happened from the 70s till today? What happened to Greece and Italy? The main question would be "why has Russia had the upper hand since the beginning" ;p ?
-> They were the one starting the war and choosing to escalate it, so they planned and prepared. The western MIC were completely unprepared (but by the end of 2024, their production will have ramped up sufficiently)
-> They could rely on the vast soviet legacy stocks (which are now running dry)
-> Russia had a massive artillery advantage and air power, though Russia never managed to gain air supremacy, Ukraine is now renewing its stock of aircrafts and, as said, the western production can provide Ukraine with the artillery advantage coming 2025.

People should remember that governments speak most often about peace in the prelude to war, and with Ukraine it is no different. First, the article about Ukraine seeking "negotiations with Russia", despite the law prohibiting it, came from the NYT, not the government of Ukraine. Secondly, "negotiations" is one of these buzz words that can mean anything and nothing at all at the same time. Everybody can understand something different under "negotiations", with different goals associated with it.
Essentially both Kiev and Moscow would only agree to negotiations, if they were held to hammer out the last details of the other side´s capitulation. The Americans (and their vassal states) would agree to negotiations that lead to a conflict freeze and a (temporary) loss of Ukrainian territory, but not more. Many people in the world believe that "peace negotiations" are about finding a lasting compromize to ensure the end of hostilities for good.
In the end, the political and security interests of all sides involved in the war in Ukraine are so fundamentally different, that a real compromise is effectively impossible, hence all the talk about negotiations is just that - cheap talk.

I look up Military Summary for today update and of course youtube recommend me denny channel instead along with plenty extreme pro ukr channel, had to scroll down a bit to finally found Military Summary channel icon
That’s probably because you watch several other updates from different channels. I only watch this one as far as the actual combat update and I never have to search for it as soon as one is posted it shows up on the top of the feed. Also when you search make sure you put Military Summary Channel, don’t miss the channel.
You need to click "do not recommend this channel" and you wont ever get any recommendations from it ever again unless you search for it.
I watch Military Summary mostly. Have you checked out This is War? It's a new channel that makes very good summaries as well.

Belarus isn't a small country.
Yes it is, they are just 9 millions peoples, less than Belgium, Netherlands and other similar countrys. Just Lombardy region in Italy is over 11 millions now and it's much much smaller than Belarus.
In size its a big country. Population wise, as has been said its the size of Belgium or Sweden. It's importance lies in its strategic location, the resources that it holds, and the symbolism to Russia of being a long term friend and ethnically related ally. For its population and economics however it is irrelevant.

As someone who was there for over 7 months this is what I can say about those stupid war maps I see everyone using. It's not like we reported every single damaged vehicle so for every thing you see on one of these so-called war maps are hundreds of things that you don't see. And trying to draw an imaginary line on where you believe the front line is makes the situation even more comical to someone who's actually been there and witnessed it the front line in Ukraine is usually anywhere from a few feet to a few kilometers
