Planning was a major reason it failed. However, from my understanding Snyder didn't make MOS with the intent of it being the launch pad for an extended universe. He planned on telling a singular story about mainly Superman that involved other DC characters. WB & DC should NOT have let him do that. Copying the MCU and having the plot of JL be about an alien overlord attempting to take over the planet was a bad idea. The part that's funny about that particular mistake is that Thanos first before MOS even came out. There was time to brainstorm another reason for the Justice League to team up.
Fundamental misunderstanding of key characters, I.e. Superman, and last minute attempts to ape the MCU are the primary reasons for the inconsistent tones and rushed pacing that stymied these movies….
Albeit controversial, the DCEU was not what audiences wanted. So why did it fail? Start some discourse below.
because they hired a bunch a losers and their loser fans
Improper use of “Albeit”

They failed because they never took their time building the world and characters.
Thank you for thoughts. I’d argue that they had plenty of time and that they didn’t use it efficiently.
