A big part is in conference play they just plain played bad lol watch their conference games vs their out of conference games. They are a completely different team.
I've never seen such a dominant run to the Finals from a team. Controlled every team they've faced and never had a point where you thought ah the opponent has got them rattled and figured out.
yeah but they had an easy path, other than Gonzaga, who did they beat that was so great? San Diego had to knock out Alabama and Creighton. FAU was no joke either as we saw.

Respect to the Canes. They never gave up. I thought my Huskies wrapped it up when they went up by 20 but Miami fought back and got to 8. Miami had a great season

The Balance on the UConn team is incredible their rotation is something serious and the big men can do literally everything on offense and defense San Diego State is in for a looooong night
You literally can't take away any one guy and stop the machine. Sonogo only had 10 in the Gonzaga game, and we know what happened there. Even in this game. Hawkins limited w/a stomach bug, Jackson on the bench for most of the first half, and Sonogo still fasting for Ramadan- 13 point halftime lead. They are unreal.
This is UConn’s tourney, very dominant.

I think for you guys to win youll have to hold them to under 65 points. Anything over that is going to be a problem. If Uconn gets to 35 points before the half its a wrap. No one has been even remotely close to this UConn team. So many upsets and close games this tourney but UConn absolutely demolishing everything in their path.

@@metsrus Gonzaga, Arkansas, Miami, and Alabama in the regular season all by double digits. What do you want? them to beat all the one seeds in a row? They probably would. They blew out the team that just came off from beating Kansas, and now they just whomped the team who just beat texas AND houston, both of which were on fire with extreme confidence.
If you don't think UConn would beat texas or kansas, or alabama (which they already destroyed in the regular season) you clearly know nothing about UConn.
@@metsrus I mean sure UConn did have an easier path but so did FAU. They beat who, Kansas St? Okay. They’re also a 3 seed. UConn didn’t just beat Gonzaga, they completely destroyed them. They diced up other teams, even if they weren’t 1 or 2 seeds, it’s still impressive in a tournament with this much talent.

Both teams played and shot well, but UCONN's passing and rebounding were stellar and made all the difference. Passes were seriously hard to follow with the eyes!
Number 44 for uconn is the tempo setter. Doesn’t get enough credit for what he does for the offense. IMO he’s the most valuable. But this team is dangerous. Every player on the court is an offensive threat from anywhere. If they pump fake a three you have to try and contest it. Great team win today, roll skies 💙

UConn has looked a step above everyone else during the tourney. Tonight, versus Miami was no exception. While I am hoping San Diego State will pull off the upset Monday night it will be no small feat to accomplish.
They're only chance to win is improving their offense. Overall, in the tournament, they just haven't scored enough. This game was better, but with how UCONN has been playing, even their elite defense might not fully mitigate UCONN's physicality.

@khouse1554 I think if there is one positive for SDSU, it's that the weakness can be defined. They have had very little offense this tournament and have just now begun to improve by putting up 72 tonight. However, on any day, that can all change. San Diego State is likely gonna always be stingy on defense, and so, if they can just start hitting their shots consistently, it's a whole new ball game.

This 2023 UConn team is looking to join the 2018 Villanova and 2012 Kentucky teams as teams that dominated the tournament

We are back where we belong! Hurley has this team completely bought in! The discipline and attention to detail is incredible. They were ready at every level of the game. If you go back and look at the full game look at the amount of contested shots there was. You don't see that anymore!

I don’t think they rank teams like that but I agree UCONN will win it all. They will make the jump to blue blood status program and join a few other schools in that class. That is if they win. I think they win easy.

I told my Brother in the preseason that this is the best basketball team I have seen in 30 years. The scoring is widely distributed, the assists are rediciculous, the bench is a better squad than half the teams in the tournament, and you have to argue if the defense is better than the offense and vice versa.

I remember a long time ago back in December, UConn took a lot of losses, mainly in Big East conference play and I’ve heard alot of chatter saying they shouldn’t be ranked and they aren’t championship material.
Where are those people now? AP is wrong numerous times but they were right about keeping UConn ranked.

I texted my nephew on December 14th and said nobody will hang with uconn if they play just decent. They don't even have to play good or great just decent and noone will beat them.
They were playing lousy.. were you pleased with how they were playing? They stunk during that stretch. Showed no toughness. They needed to turn it around and they did.

Uconn is simply too strong. Everytime it looked like Miami would get back in the game the Huskies slammed the door shut. SDSU has their work cut out for them.

Thanks for posting the highlights, (under the weather...went to bed after first half of yesterday's game) and definitely looking forward to watching the next game ! I wish the game was scheduled at an earlier time for not only myself, but families with young children who want to watch the game.

UCONN looks so deep, talented and resilient. Beating them seems like a tall task. Just hanging in there with them near the end of a game seems just as hard. Miami not getting all the free trips to the free throw line like they did against Texas didn't look so good. This game was called fairly. Let's just see if the refs allow the last game to be decided by the players on the court or their calls and influence.
If the officials don’t call Tight, it will be a wrestling match with lots of blood. SDSU will get more and more physical to stop UConn excellent offense
@@Markph7 Calling a game "tight" is ok and not a problem. Calling a game biasedly favoring one team IS a problem. Let's hope for each team to have the same shot at winning. Can't personally imagine, as a player, playing a game in a football stadium. Gotta be a little different than what they're use to.
Unconn played very good and have one of the biggest teams out there. Miami actually did not play a very good game at all. They had tons of missed layups and easy shots. I was not going to say anything about the game but Machu you mentioned Miami getting free trips, a foul is a foul and when fouled, you get trips to the free throw line. Miami was literally hacked last night many times and there was no fouls called. UConn was walking and carrying the ball all over the court but no calls. I do feel and accept the loss but when a team has that kind of pressure, you cannot beat a team and the refs. It’s impossible.
That being said, I feel UConn will win it all.

I consider them a blue blood program ...I expect them to easily win their 5th championship, which is right up there with the other so called "blue bloods" and more then others . There all time wins are up there too...north carolina doesn't male the tournament every year , ucla doesn't make the tournament every year. Ucla has not won a title since the 90s..yet these schools are considered "blue bloods" ...UCONN is just a blue blood as these ....imho...

College Basketball has a Power 6. The Big East is easily the best conference in the country. UConn dominating opponents outside the Big East and struggling against opponents inside it, proves just that.
Maybe there is a "Power 6," but the Big XII has many more top-ranked teams. Upsets in this tournament notwithstanding, because that's what they were. Upsets.

The other conference thought that pulling those schools away from the BE would damage or weaken the BE. NOT!
Villanova has won 2 championships since the other teams left. Now Uconn is there again for the 5th time.

Miami got my respect by beating Indiana, Houston, and Texas. They just didn't play at that same level tonight. They missed a ton of shots around the rim. Got to finish those. UConn is well coached. Consider that all 8 games they lost were in the Big East. They swept non-conference games and won each game for the national title by an average of 15 points. Goes to show how legit the Big East is and just how dominante UConn was.
Pretty good NCAA tourney formula: 3 bigs (Sanogo, Karaban, Clingan), 4 ball handlers (Newton, Calcaterra, Alleyne, Diarra), 1 playmaker (Jackson), 1 sharpshooter (Hawkins).
Been saying since week 2 UConn is the most complete and talented team in the country , by a LARGE amount.
I only wish that the bet I made in late November for UCONN to win it all was $100 instead of $10.
