Good video and couldn’t agree more on the daily drivability with a hybrid setup. One thing that might make the car smoother is not having pops and bangs.
Running stage 2 MK7 GTI 320 whp stock turbo for two years and we have a lot of potholes here in Puerto Rico. That really sucks. Mine is straigth pipe and sounds beautiful
Awesome 😎. I have a Littco L450 waiting to be installed in my MK7. Still need the supporting fuel mods but I have the rest. My car is also a daily so I plan on being around 450whp and driving every day. I love my car. Can’t wait to add the new turbo.
@@tredfxman that would be incorrect. Now they may have been referring to torque and if they were that would be accurate. You would not want to push more than 420 wtq without having a built head.
@@HaydenCroix The heads are fine on these cars it's the bottom end you have to worry about which are usually rods but the engine can safely hold up to 440 torque to the wheels.
Agreed, definitely helps the flow of traffic. And there is literally 4 within a mile of my home. But then again I’d rather it be that than 4 stop lights!
I’ve been dailying my car with a hybrid turbo for two years. It’s not so much the power train you’ll have to worry about it’s all the other stupid little things that wear out like end links because I’m pretty low, I’ve blown the o ring off my charge pipe twice already. I did away with the blow off valve because it didn’t holdup and got a GFB DV+ instead
Hey man love the build, I have a mk7.5 gti I'm doing a TPC20BB with a walbro 450 lpfp, 1300cc mpi and HPA hpfp, also gonna be going with Sneakytuned wonder what it will make.
You don’t need an HPFP if you go MPI. Not saying it’s not a good thing to upgrade, but it isn’t necessary. And like Hayden said on full e you should hit 500. I got the TPC38 and I make around 520-540 to the wheels on full e. And Sneeky is always the way to go!
What else u got done to it? I currently just rocking stage 1+ from unitronics Thinking about upgrading to get more power and mainly to keep it emission test friendly.
With the Konig’s and the +35 offset are you running 225s or 235s? If they’re 235s are you rubbing at all with the BC’s? Spacers? What tires to put down the power too? Thanks!
I am actually running a 265/35 for tire. I run a 2mm spacer in the rear and a 5mm spacer up front. I rub on big bumps where the bumper meets the fenders but not bad at all and not too often.
New to the channel looking for inspiration for my next build.. to answer your question yes there’s pretty much a round on every streeet where I live. MK, UK 🇬🇧
Carbon hood, Carbon fenders, Carbon front lip, Carbon side skirts, Carbon mirror caps, Carbon window pillar trim, Carbon taillight trim, Carbon rear hatch spoiler, Carbon rear diffuser(quad exhaust ready), as well as a custom exhaust with quad tips. I also have aftermarket headlights, and taillights, as well as rear wiper delete, BC coils, and Konig Ampliforms in 18x8.5 +38 wrapped in DWS06+ that are 265/35R18
I actually have a solution sorted out. I am going to be using a dynomax muffler similar to the vibrant that I am using in between that and the mufflers. That being said I really like the way the CS muffler sounds.
We have a good bit of members in the Greensboro/HighPoint area. I personally am near Charlotte, though I am sure we have some members that attend the shows up there.
I have a stock 7.5 that i wanna put an xforce active exhaust for it. Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations? I was gonna go cat back for it with the varex muffler
If you do opt for the Varex muffler just make sure you have done your research and are okay with it. There is an issue with the design of this exhaust when using the varex muffler option. The issue is that you can't properly accelerate without the valves being open. It creates too much back pressure when the valves are closed and results in loss of power as well as a serious vacuum sound coming from the exhaust. That being said it is still a good exhaust if you are looking to quiet down the cold starts. And you can run the valves 20% closed while driving without having any issue in most cases.
@@HaydenCroix yeah I live in a really dense neighborhood and I don’t want to piss off my neighbors when I leave for work at 5am so I pretty much need this muffler. That being said I am aware of the back pressure issue but I can’t really synthesize why it would matter in my usage. I plan to only keep the valves closed on starts and then set it to like 50%
@@lacrosse4higher If you are planning to use it that way you should have no issues as all. And shoot if you get pulled over you can always close them before the cop walks up on you.
It is called a TPC20BB it uses an IS20 hot side and IS38 cold side but both have been modified to fit a larger and more robust impeller wheel to make even more boost than the IS38 is capable of.
It's an IS20 Hybrid. But don't let that fool you into thinking it's "smaller" than an IS38. It's very much bigger and more capable. There's two types of hybrids. IS20 hybrids & IS38 hybrids. Both are more capable than OEM IS20/IS38. TPC20 (IS20) TPC38 (IS38) to help break it down. EQT's options are Vortex Standard (IS20 Hybrid) Vortex XL (IS38 Hybrid).
SneekyTuned Aggressive SCP is the main factor. Other than that it is all based on your car and how it reacts to it. With my car if I rev over 6k it generally shoots flames.
A TPC20 is a hybrid turbo and is also considered a big turbo by many. It has larger impeller wheels than and is38 and is much more capable. But yes it does spool faster than a full frame turbo would.
@@HaydenCroix Yeah I'm aware of what it is, just don't think turbos for this platform should be referred to as "big", if the frame isn't larger than an IS38 frame, since that is the largest turbo offered from factory. It's mostly just upgraded internals to flow better with an IS38 cold side. "Many" probably haven't done turbo upgrades so they consider anything that isn't stock "big". Just like on the MK5/6 platform, I wouldn't even consider a K04 hybrid a big turbo. I would consider anything beyond an IS38 frame a big turbo, and they usually have a lot more lag (G series, EFR, etc.). Anyways the video was great, not trying to bash.
