  • Nick from Sweden was five years old when he experienced sudden hearing loss. He spent three months completely deaf before getting a cochlear implant. Today, he works as an intern doctor-a job role that requires him to use “all five senses”. His cochlear implant helps him communicate with patients and colleagues. He even uses AudioLink to examine patients with a digital stethoscope. “To other people with hearing loss I would like to say that there is nothing that limits you,” says Nick.

Can I ask questions I have living with Nucleus 22 cochlear implant if my nucleus 22 broke or stop work can change from cochlear to med-el or not? I just ask this all thank you ❤

Hi David, thank you for your question. External audio processors can work only with internal cochlear implants of the same brand. If you wish to change to a MED-EL system, a new surgery will be required. We invite you to talk about this possibility with your local doctor or MED-EL team: www.medel.com/contact-med-el.
      Kind Regards,
      Giulia

What attachment does he use? Rondo 3 stays in place no matter the activity?

Francine, thank you for your comment. Nick did not use an attachment for his RONDO 3 while running; however, there are many options you can use. You can learn more about the RONDO series fixation options here: www.medel.com/hearing-solutions/accessories/fixations
      Kind Regards
