    Additional Information + Correction:
    - You can still get increased stun duration if you trigger anywhere between 10-99 (outside re attempt period), you can always trigger early if you want to have more time to utilize disc set bonus such as 4-swing jazz
    - Apparently timer on Shiyu Defense also frozen during QTE (Credit by @kenchen1351)
    - I didn't stop the timer on 2nd chain attack at 50% dazed state on 10:45 (it should be running again right after the bangboo ca triggered) and it added way more duration than it should be. the correct one is only have a slight higher increase as you can see here imgur.com/a/sBuzC57 (Thank you for pointing my mistake @omgwtflolbbl5303)

      So, are you saying that you WILL get the increased stun duration if you wait for the numbers to stop randomly flashing and start counting down from 99? Do you not need to wait till the meter is at 50% for the most possible time?

    Hitting with light hit until the bar goes down to 50% isn't really practical. Sure stunned state = more damage. But light hits also usually low damage. And the stage timer ticks at the same rate when elites/bosses are in dazed state. I think just going straight to burst is the best. You'll get next rotation earlier this way.

      @@Swillo yes it is correct. light hits doesn't only come from basic attacks. hold attack, special attack, and EX special attack also have them, what you need to avoid hitting is their heavy hit and that can be done by swapping

      @wes10566 3 месяца назад +6

      Bit of a misunderstanding here. When a character is switched off of during an attack, they continue their attack till the end of the animation. However even if u hit a heavy attack, if ur switched off by the time it lands, no qte is triggered. Notice how anby’s skill despite being a heavy attack did not trigger a qte here: 16:17

    • @yesno1085
      @yesno1085 3 месяца назад +1

      Light hits are fine but i think you should go for them only after the chain hits so you don’t accidentally mess up and miss chain hits
      Also light hits doesn’t necessarily mean low hits, basically just require some knowledge to find out which attacks continue after swapping out (eg: piper spin final strong hit still occurs after swap, and even provides i frames so has practical use outside of stun)

  • @TheOneGPJ
    @TheOneGPJ 3 месяца назад +51

    Also, you can attack the enemies DURING the stunned period and won't trigger QTE as long as either you don't use a full combo, any specials (swap cancelling is fine for both combo and special), ultimates, or charged attacks

      so it's better to wait the daze drop to 50% to only chain?

  • @omgwtflolbbl5303
    @omgwtflolbbl5303 3 месяца назад +47

    I'm almost certain your theory that dazing at 50% giving more duration is wrong. Not only are some of the differences you outline on the order of a frame or two (.02s difference in one case), but your biggest showcase has a really glaring fault in which you messed up the starting and stopping of your timer. At around 11:45, your left and right setups restart their timer when the bangboo comes onto the field, while your middle timer restarts when you initiate the previous chain attack (anby). This adds ~1.5 seconds of time to your displayed chain attack total.
    There's an explanation elsewhere that honestly makes a whole lot more sense. When you hit 100 meter, there is a 1 second grace period. During this 1 second grace period, the meter is basically stuck at 100 and you can technically get free damage. Instantly popping the stun will make you lose this 1 second grace period because you popped it immediately. If you choose to wait, you can thus add ~1s of total stun time. How valuable that is depends on what you can do with non-heavy actions.
    Also, I think the time spent on the qte screen does not affect anything in Shiyu defense, as the timer actually pauses. It's pretty easy to test since the qte screen lasts 2 seconds. It's more real world time, but it doesn't progress any in game timers.

    This tech can be used to increase the value you get from daze/stun if you use hero switch to avoid triggering chain attacks while still using your damaging combos/skills. For example, use Billy Ex but switch to someone else before it triggers. This lets you unload a ton of damaging moves up until the 50% threshold, into a full chain sequence, into an ultimate finisher. It's a little situational and fairly execution dependent, but definitely real.
    Some characters and comps can make natural use of this with simple setups. For instance, Von's 2nd kick sequence of his held Ex -> Switch to Corin before the last kick, right as they're going into Daze -> Full maintain on Corin's Ex -> Full Chain -> Ultimate or more damage of your choice.

    I don't think it's really matter whether triggering chain early or late, in fact if you trigger chain early you can still do some damage just like when you trigger it later, so it just a placebo effect
    The only thing concerning here is chain attack can also build up decibel for your ultimate so it's really useful than using basic attack which didn't really deal that much damage and low decibel build up, the chain order is also depends on your comp, for example if you have M2 Lucy you'd choose her as last chain so she can refresh her buff duration and trigger your dps quick assist, if not you'd prefer to use your main dps to be last chain so you can deal damage afterward without waiting for their quick assist animation

      This might also be bad for nicole users since you want to make full use of the whole duration of her circle thing to maximize the duration of her buffs since her buffs are 3.5s only. Idk about other suppoets like lucy since i dont have her but if her buff duration is shorter than the boss stun duration or it needs to be like soukaku's buff then,

    So what you're saying is that when the boss is in the DAZED rainbow state we should try to do damage (since we have the bonus damage multiplier while they're DAZED) but NOT trigger a Chain Attack. Once the DAZE hits around 50% THEN we should trigger the Chain Attack to get the boss INTO the stunned (GRAY) bar state and then proceed to do damage with the DPS throughout the whole STUN stage. That seems like a lot of work. Why not just start the stun chain attack instantly? I doubt that devs are going to make the higher tier content that much dependent on 1-3 bonus seconds. Plus that would mean having to learn how to cancel/swap off Chain triggering attacks for everyone in your main teams if you'll be doing damage while the boss is dazed.

      For mono ice team i think it will be better if you just trigger the chain attack faster around 90% (you will still get 1s increased stun duration) since you will lose tier 3 vortex once you trigger it, unlike the showcase at the end of video with lucy that can basically refresh her buff with ex sp attack.
      After dazed (use lycaon to max it) you can attack with some light hit until dazed state starts going down, then ellen ex > lycaon ex > soukaku ex buff + trigger CA > ellen CA > lycaon CA > bangboo CA > soukaku CA > ellen quick assist + ult + attack combo.

    Sometimes I've seen 150% Dmg and 200% Dmg on the same enemy. Might be wrong, can others vouch and help figure this out?

      Some characters increase the stun damage multiplier. Lycaon for example increases it by attacking a stunned enemy through his core skill

    I have real problems fully understanding what you mean with instant trigger QTE and waiting for QTE?
    Or well, the daze bar being at a certain percentage. The way you word it, at least for me, is not comprehensive at all.

    • @ilis_roa
      @ilis_roa  3 месяца назад

      thank you for your feedback, i am not fluent in English I am sorry for that.
      Chain attack QTE has 2,5s duration, you can click it faster or near the end of duration, they added in total cycle duration (stun + qtes duration)
      while chain attack trigger is exactly what it is, instant trigger is when you trigger exactly as they become dazed, and the other is triggered at certain % dazed state left

    Why is stun duration so different if you skip last chain attack? (From this video) ruclips.net/video/LdeVtvKFDNU/видео.htmlsi=KSIlheH6UEJjcF0Z

    • @ilis_roa
      @ilis_roa  2 месяца назад +1

      @@jc_mosh it's possible that there is another factors i couldnt find that also affecting duration. what you see in my video is all provided from my own testing, and I do not use any baseless theory beside the test data themself.
      edit: i find out why. on her cancel chain attack the timer start goes up after ellen chain attack animation. stun duration should start to decrease after the last chain attack, in this case on elite enemy is the 2nd one and ellen was on the first chain attack. any chain attack animation before the last chain attack is not going to consume stun duration. the timer shouldve start when the 2nd chain attack QTE reach 0 (in this case cancelled), not when ellen trigger 1st chain attack and it resulting the stun duration on CA QTE cancel seems like have way more duration than the first one.

    • @jc_mosh
      @jc_mosh 2 месяца назад

      @@ilis_roa Interesting, can we say that if the last chain atk has long animation it's better to QTE cancel to take advantage of stun timer not ticking?

    • @ilis_roa
      @ilis_roa  2 месяца назад +1

      @@jc_mosh yes as example if stun duration of that elite is around 13s and performing last chain attack animation takes up 3s of that duration, then its better to not perform so you can actively dealing damage full 13s.
      but again if you check the 2nd clip where she cancel qte and start the timer as the 2nd qte reach 0, the duration should be the same with the first one. the way she uses the duration is correct but how she time the stun duration is a miss. at least thats what i can find
