I love it!I’m surprised by the comments about it not fitting in the neighborhood.I don’t do what everyone else does especially if I paying for it!!! Fantastic job my favorite is the kitchen and the exterior and backyard 😍 The only tile I didn’t like was the shower dark grey.
Jenny and your husband 's Dave are really good teamworker . Keep on being you .GOD BLESS you both and your lovely family.Have a BLESS Day and be safe.🙏❤
It's an awesome house, but I have two concerns: 1. It doesn't seem to blend with the country neighborhood 2. How do you cover the front doors so the inside isn't visible?
"where's the front door?" was exactly my same thought. Its a totally weird front entrance. While it lends the livingroom space to the outdoors by bringing in tons of light, it also makes the front exterior look confusing. feels like you lose a lot of privacy. everyone driving or walking by can watch you sitting in your livingroom and kitchen. if they were windows you could have blinds but they're doors. it would be an amazing space if it was in the back of the house facing the back yard, but terrible since its facing the street.
I’m sure they can put up some bushes or just hood curtains calm down. This is also the south it’s completely different down there thier entire family is basically in that area most of those people know each other thier not too concerned about extra privacy like you would be in a larger city w a lot of creeps this is a family town.
I LOVE THE BLACK & WHITE EXTERIOR, ULTRA MODERN!⭐THE FISH TANK LOOKS LIKE IT BELONGS IN A $MILLION DOLLAR HOME...VIBRANT COLORS, SUPER NICE!🐠👍 LOVE THE LVRM PAINTING, SLEEK FIREPLACE, COOL KITCHEN LIGHT PENDANT, OUTDOOR FURNITURE & TABLE. GREAT REDO!⭐
This feels like home!!! Many houses are like this one around europe! Very modern(maybe more homey inside compared to here)stylish and modern,I like it because it still has the American architecture (more like deutch)yet very contemporary. Great job
I had to take pause it was too much lol! I’m a good way! I love their vision they do such incredible work and just happy people it’s makes u feel good watching!
Wow. Big. Very American, I guess. In some comments it is referred that the style is somewhat European. Since I am European, living in Europe, I may agree with the color pallet, maybe, but definitely not with the size, waste of empty space and of having inside balconies instead of e.g. another floor. And I have yet come to understand what’s with the useless windows in a wall high above other windows. I imagine them difficult to clean or even to get the room dark if I want to. To claim that you have more natural light in the house does not resonate with me - of course, that is only my opinion. Myself, I am living with my family in a house with open concept and I must say I would not choose that concept again. To have all the noise and smells from a kitchen all over one floor is irritating me with the years. And with the kids growing, nobody gathers around the hearth of the home like in the first years. And even than my kids preferred to play outside or do their homework in their rooms where they can concentrate better. I am looking forward to get the rooms closed up again.
It's in the countryside. Houses are much bigger, wider and spacious. There's no need to think about cleaning windows like Europeans, Americans hire housekeeping maids that comes in twice a month at least, usually South Americans for all cleanings. Inside balconies are important, due to coyotes, bears, deers, and other wild animals that come around if you have small children to play safe. 😊 Oh, by the way, Americans don't cook as much, fast food, take outs, they use oven or microwave to heat up Frozen food or BBQ so there's no worries about food smelling everyday. You really need to live in a country to grasp the differences.
@@meggtokyodelicious I am German and I am very surprised about the spaces for the living room and the kitchens American have. I would be lost and I would hardly see my kids because in my opinion the rooms are too big. The length of our kitchen is 3 metres and we are four people. American kitchens which I have seen in these videos are huge - but they are renovated so nicely by the couple. I like the color of the furniture they choose.

Nice house but is an eye sore in the neighborhood. It doesn't match the esthetic of the rest of the homes and its like three times the size of the others. It stands out and not in a good way. The neighbors hate it.
Completely amazing work by Dave & Jenny! However, none of the windows appear to have coverings unless there are razor thin shades somehow inset along the top. Seems really unpractical for the living room to be that exposed to the street.
Bentonville, Arkansas is a nicer place to live than most places in California, minus the climate. It's the mountain bike capital of the world, has a world class art museum, Crystal Bridges, and is the headquarters of the largest company in the country (second in the world), Walmart. Yes, I'm aware of Walmart's mixed perceptions, and I believe much of the criticism they receive for their business practices is fair, but it is undeniable how much of a boon they are to the town and the region considering how much they and the Waltons invest into the area. It'd be less impressive if all of these things were in a major city of a few million, but Bentonville has a modest population of 61k (compared to

I'm confused, 2,800 square ft house and NO Dining Room??? Just bar seating? Please tell me that I'm missing something, surely they didn't build a McMansion and didn't include a dining room.
I just saw this it was so amazing. I liked everything. And I liked how Jenny's brother in law said he'll spend whatever it takes. My problem is not about the house it's about that poor black girl around all those white people all the time I can't imagine how she must feel so out of place. It'd be good if they had some African American married in their family then that might make the child feel at peace. I can see her feeling distant from them 😢.
WHY? - just why does anybody require that amount of living space? Just because they can? It’s hardly sustainable. If these two really wanted to do something cool, they could build small, stylish, well though out Homes and reuse some of the materials from the old House.
@Lene Svingel I stopped watching at 1.29mins. As soon as I saw how much this double storey extension would be overlooking their neighbor's original, single storey building. The new build seemed excessive in size and out of character with the surrounding dwellings. I'd like to have seen the ground floor footprint extended. Perhaps a second storey, with rooms for the boys, could have covered half the footprint.
@@lenesvingel4450 It's interesting though - the majority of comments for this video were extremely positive. Full of high praise and enthusiasm for the end results and the team behind them. There were only five or so (including us) who had various reasons for disliking this renovation. I've often really liked finished projects from Dave and Jenny. But this one seemed boastful somehow - all to impress a family member.
I don't agree with their decision to tower over their neighbors due to the second level, but there's plenty of space in Northwest Arkansas and this renovated home's square footage isn't a crazy amount above average.
This house screams "white elephant" Who's going to clean those windows and maintain the fish tank? Where are they going to eat when they have company? And who in the world will buy that McMansion when they decide to sell?
As good as that house looks, I cannot stand these new house builds in these shows where the new house is completely different from the other houses in the neighborhood. At least build up a new home that fits the aesthetic of the neighborhood. Instead they have this modern brand new house in a neighborhood filled with old one story houses and it looks completely out of place. I'd rob them.
I always think it’s a mistake to rebuild a house three times the size of other houses in the neighborhood. It just looks dumb. If you’re going to spend that kind of money, at least put it in an appropriate spot with a real yard. But I guess their priorities may not be the same as mine. Also, a confusing front door is the worst!
It depends where you live. If you live in the south where there is more humidity and bugs, you will find more house made from cementitious products. Up north, houses are made from wood.
Jenny you and Dave out did yourselves ~ this is probably the best house you designed ever ~ South Africa

It's an awesome house, but I have two concerns:
1. It doesn't seem to blend with the country neighborhood

The Fish Tank Wine Cellar? Is a first
But where do they hang their Coats? 😮
This is nice but I would't want everybody to pass by and see inside. Who takes care of the fish of this is a vacation home ?
