With all due respect to Federer and Nadal as they are legends in their own right, Djokovic is now the goat he has won 20 grand slams in a Federer Nadal era and done it in dominant fashion he's my goat for sure
I agree, but that debate will surely be sorted if Djokovic stays healthy for a few more years. So many records would fall and little arguments would remain. 🤞 Djokovic stays healthy 🤞

Could have also won Dubai as a Defending Champion from 2019!! But He opted out and prioritised GRAND slams!! A younger Novak would have gone for those Trophies too!!
Plz don't compare men's tennis with women's. When Roger broke 286 week Sampras record no one mentioned about Steffi Graf record. Similarly it should apply to Novak also. Different standards to different people.
They are slightly different situations though, Federer took a while to finally get that record and didn't hold #1 for that long around that time so it was an achievement in itself, and at the time he was 90 weeks short of Graff's record, so we didn't really think about it. It's only now that Djokovic is comfortably clear of Roger and still in such a strong position of #1 that it is likely he will get to the year end, which puts him very close to Graff's record so we can start considering it.
@@brandonm8901 Not just this I see many comparing Novak with Margaret court now a days. I mean it's incredible if he does that but you just don't need to compare men's records with women's and vice-versa. Women's tennis, competition, format are different to men's.
@@rangolibaba I don’t think it’s a serious comparison. It’s more interesting to know. I still think Novak needs another 50-100 weeks to assure his record doesn’t get broken too quickly. Would be nice to see hik hold it for 20 years at least!!🤞
@@rangolibaba I see what you mean. People will always use benchmarks and because Djokovic has transcended most of the record's in the men's game I think people use the women's records just so there's some reference point, otherwise the numbers could lose some meaning. I agree that it's a totally different game though, but I don't think it's much different to comparing Djokovic's records to Rod Lavers (like the calendar Slam) as the men's game itself has changed so much. I don't think it's trying to discredit Novak in any way, I think (or at least hope) it's just a case of running out of comparisons to make in the men's game so people have to start using numbers from the women's game (which everyone knows has had less depth for much of the time). It's not like people are saying he's not the GOAT until he beats this random record that a woman holds, it's more like "he has broken every record in the game, let's see if he can also hit the same figures that the women have achieved in their sport"

In order for Medvedev to overtake Djokovic in the rankings, he would have to basically win Canada and Cincinnati while Novak would have to miss Cincinnati or lose in the first couple of rounds. While it is possible for Medvedev to win both, it is highly unlikely. But even if he does, and he takes over #1, it will be very short lived, because Daniil is the defending Champion in Shanghai, Paris Bercy and the ATP Final, while Djokovic has very few points to defend in those tournaments. Race to Torino, only 2 players left with chances to finish year as number 1,Med already down 4000 points and not many points left after 3 GS,let's say about 8000 points, most likely Nole will add 2000-3000 points more till end of the year,so mathematically Med is out,he can't win it all.Don't believe in Rublev and Mateo to be honest so only TsiTsi has slim chance(10%),many quality players on tour,so it's hard for other guys to make great run till end of the season
Things are looking very very Good For Novak Djokovic here!! I think he even has a long shot at breaking Federer's record for Consecutive 236 Weeks as World No. 1!! Tsitsipas lost in Hamburg Quarterfinals!! The only way I see this next gen crawling upto No. 1 is if they stich together 6-7 trophies of 500 and 1000 at one go and that also is definitely not happening!!
Federer's consecutive weeks at #1 record is well and truly safe.... ...Djokovic would have to be #1 continuously for another 184 weeks or 3 and half years. Hard to see that happening, especially given the messages Djokovic is saying about playing less. But if it happened wow! 🤯
It is final. The current system chooses the higher of the two between 2019 and 2020, so Medvedev still holds the runner up points he earned in 2019 which will be gone after US Open this year.
No, he is defending a final from 2019 (against Nadal). Because the COVID ranking point system. www.atptour.com/en/players/daniil-medvedev/mm58/rankings-breakdown
Djokovic will finish the year as number one. Only Medvedev could overtake him. But, novak is defending no points at all at the US open, so he could only add up points. As opposed to Medvedev.
He is defending Finals from 2019.. As it is 24 months points system now. Kinda confusing but its what it is. After aug 1st week... Hopefully it changes.
Given that NOVAK won't win a single title and go deep in the remaining tournaments.. and let's not forget that Daniil is also the defending champion at ATP FINALS, PARIS MASTERS and SHANGHAI MASTERS! bruh.. Medvedev has to pull out a miracle out of his ass to end up as no.1 by the end of the year!

If Novak wins 4 slams and doesn’t end world number one would have to be some kind of of record wouldn’t that’s an automatic 8000 points
Medvedev is defending Semi-Final not final at US OPEN.
Thanks for the clarification Guys. I like very much you corrected me. Cheers from INDIA.
Djokovic will finish the year as number one. Only Medvedev could overtake him. But, novak is defending no points at all at the US open, so he could only add up points. As opposed to Medvedev.
anyone knows what's up with this dude?
I feel like nadal may win us open this year,Novak may lose in the early round
Let’s think positive, dude. IDEMO!!
@@rocket3193 just my feeling bro

I think Novak shouldnt play at the Olympics...
Because if he doenst win Gold, it will affect his mind...
djokovic was disqualified last year and all ranking points were taken away. he's really defending nothing at the USO
his 2019 points at USO are still active

Really?
Why Rafa do not stand any chance in this No. 1 debate?
He is defending Finals from 2019.. As it is 24 months points system now. Kinda confusing but its what it is. After aug 1st week... Hopefully it changes.
@@guruk the modified ranking due to COVID will end before Cincinnati open no?
Even if he wins the US Open, i’m pretty sure he won’t get any points which is a bit crazy but there you go
@@puzzlite yes.
It seems that Medvedev has chance to be No 1 without winning grand slam.
Looks like he gave up with this channel.
Yes. Iam buying it. I mailed him. Will buy it he has agreed. U can listen to my analysis
Why do you read what we see? It’s boring?
