I've seen people start with worse vehicles and make a nice driver out of them. Looking forward to more on this build, as I like the body style. Parents had a '66 Fairlane Wagon back in '73-'74.
Nice job on the rotisserie there Bob!! It sure looks like a lot of work to get it set up too. I've never watched a car being put up on a rotisserie like that. Thank you for a very educational video.
Ahh, shop crane to get it in the air. I put long ram jacks on mine. If any of you guys never used a rotisserie, you are missing out-big time! Even the rail style works well
Hey Bob, a friend of mine bought a WhirlyGig rotisserie and set it up without reading the instructions. Put a nice 70 Judge on it, pulled the pin that holds everything in place and wiped out the whole side of the car. Hard Lesson learned😂
So I guess technically you could say when this car is done it has been in a multiple roll over . LOL You are for sure the new King of Rat Rods Bob ! Thanks man for even taking this project on .
That is the best way to work on a body of a car . Great way to paint a body of a car to. Keep up the great work Rat Rod Bob and God Bless you and your family Brother.
Thanks for the indepth details how the rotisserie works and how to make one, hopefully someday I can retire and work on a project car. Until then I will watch you show us how it's done.
Hope your doing alright ! We are about the same age and I’m always amazed at what you can get done, but it’s not like you to go 3 weeks without a video ,stay well👍👍
LOOKIN GOOD BOSSSSSS!!!!!!!......here I am watching Rat Rod Bob in my Rat Rod Bob brand new T-shirt .............GOT IT....Bob ...................Like the 66-67 Fairlanes..........
I do believe that you used this on another rig that you fixed up. Man was smart, and thats something I was not to ever hear as a one word statement about myself with out a reference to a mule like animal attached to it. Looking good an looking like a busy would be the word of the day.
i was starting to worry about you young man! im looking forward to your fairlane build. you bring encouragement to us old folks showing us all what can be done. ive got a 72 elcamino to build. thx for starting this channel sir!!!
I built my rotisserie about 15 years ago using box tubing. I took old bumper jacks and mounted them on those vertical slip tubes and used a piece of 3/4" fine thread all thread on the T bars to crank them up and down. Makes it real easy to find the center of gravity and clear the bases in a couple of minutes.
Yes ... if I ever get to em. Ford parts have always been high but right now they are thru the roof! I think I may just Funny it out like I did the Falcon. Only more funnier.
Man I like your commitment to what you are doing. this is going to be a very intense build and you are the bloke to get it done. Looking forward to watching your progress on this one.
I built my roterissere out of square tubing I had laying around. Don't need to go buy a bunch of expensive metal to get it done. Good to see you moving forward on this project 👍
Think i would started with dragging it out and used Water/Sand blasting, easier and more fun to work with a clean body. Take the holiday off and put the job in gear after new year. Take care Bob. From Norway.
Great job on that rotisserie Bob. Took a little bit of time to get it right but man she does work good and easy. Wish I would of had one doing my car. Thanks for showing it doesn't look to hard to build one. Good seeing you brother Have a good one👍
A care worth reclaimation and rebirth there Bob. Nice! 66 was a killer year for the Fairlane and panels from some Galaxies work with it, you can get replacement kits for the front disc brakes that will work from the junkyard on a good day :-) You show the youngins how it's done brother :-) Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year Sir!
Very cool Bob! I built my own rotisserie years ago , and learned the hard way about balancing the car , so this video is a great source of info for someone starting down that road. Keep up the good work!
Yea build your own is my moto. I may be missing that complete floor in the near future but I've got the sheet metal and tools to fix it Rat Rod Bob style.
Way to go Bob. You're going to miss all of that rust falling in your ears, eyes, hair and chest if you were to do it from underneath. Yeah, it's a lot of work but it sure saves you in many ways. Stay safe young man !
Hey Bob, This is wishing you a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!!!!! Good to see you moving on to the next step!!!!! Thanks for taking the time to do some measurements for us!!!!!
Awesome Bob 👍🏻 great rotisserie you made , I probably just buy one when I'm ready for one hopefully in the future, as here some people over here, use them once then sell them again , and you made more room with it so you can work on 2 projects 😀👍🏽👍🏻
Bob know wasn't expecting to do full rotisserie restoration on 66 Fairlane but least it's in best hands & when it's finish be better than what was first came in ur shop

I plan on building a rotisserie similar to this when i start my car project (a ratrod) once i finish our house project.

Always look forward to what you got going on Bob ! Always look forward to what comes next as well !
Nice setup Bob 👌
Looking good Bob...
Not bad for a 66 Fairlane 500 mine had to have new rails on the front and lower seam below rear windows was real bad love this Body Fairlanre

This was a very informative video Bob, thank you.
Dang fine hat.
Best one I got. Preciate it.
That system is the bees knees all right.
You could BBQ a good sized steer on that rig in between car projects. Let me know when you have the BBQ so that I can be there.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great Job Bob !!
