Over a year, I found three single stage blowers. This summer, I am going to try to get the three running or use one for parts for the other two. I did purchase a small Toro, but I gave it away. The controls were opposite of the controls from my existing Ariens with heated handle bars and The Big Pig 12 horse Snapper. We are the last house on a dead end.. During major storms, our street is not top priority. I open it up so an ambulance or fire truck can make it down the road.
My Ariens will make a short job of 10” of wet snow. That thing is for the places that don’t get much snow. You gave it a shot, I think Kenny would give a hilarious evaluation!🤣
What was really cool was watching the time lapse and seeing how fast the pavement was melting the little bit left over from the blower!... Once you exposed it . Pretty neat
Maybe the next time you burn skids at the Farm. You could duct tape all the safety handles down and use the electric snowblower to fan the fire? Nothing slowed it down. It was a monster!

Yes it will go through anything and throw the snow 50+ feet depending on how wet it is but the chute controls are electric and slower than dirt, the track drive is slower than wheels and the up front cost new is 3600 dollars which are some pretty big negatives. I live in Appleton like you and remember this storm. My Honda tank was throwing snow 45+ feet at least and I could run it full speed but again tracks are slower than tires. I wish I had the Toro quick chute you have. Thanks for the video!
I had a 8 hp mtd that I bought in 1989, never had a problem and started on the first pull. General maintenance and drain the gas. Got rid of it because I bought a plow for my truck 2 years ago.

The best smell was was back in the 1960's. The two cycle, rope wind, leaded gas mowing the grass in an eastern Iowa summer morning. I'd buy a bottle of that cologne .
They make some additive products that can be mixed into gas that will remove/deactivate the ethanol. I have not used them but have a friend who does small engine repair and he sells a ton of it to his customers. I have ethanol free 10 minutes away, but maybe something you could look into?👍

But shutting the auger off in reverse saves on the battery. Anyway, hope you figure it out and operation of it goes more smoothly. @@InTheWoodyard getting stuff fresh out of the box is rarely a happy experience. My 66 y.o. mind would automatically think that it was me that was doing something wrong. There might be a Tech line phone # you can call..
I watched a video on gas a while back. The engines run hotter on premium, the explosions inside the engine are greater, which may not be good for some engines. I run premium in all mine too, big and small.
These little battery snowblowers are equal to 5hp gas engine. The snowblower slows itself down as an automatic "self preservation" feature to keep the motor from being overworked. The gas engines start bogging and we manually slow down. This just does it automatically. Definitely annoying with the lack of power.
From the video it looks like you did the”man or Chris thing”and didn’t read the directions. But you got it running which is the main thing! Keep blowin former besty!👍TCT
As far as your chainsaw bogging down it could be your air filter or gas filter or it could be dirt in your carburetor on your screen or your carburetor seals might need be changed because they could be dry and cracking.
Skid shoes. You gotta adjust the skid shoes. Seems aggravating. I think I’ll keep using a shovel in the small areas and the Deere 317 skid steer with 96 inch bucket in the big areas
Chris I like the irony of the guy wearing a Brute Force hat walking past his Toro Power Max that would be well suited to the job in favor of a weak sauce electric snow blower that has one battery that doesn’t work 😂. You and Kenny have a well documented distaste for weenie saws… how about weenie snow blowers??😢
Is there such a thing as a riding zero turn snowblower? 😂. I seen a snowblower once in my life, in a pawnshop, because Cajun country gets very little snow.
Chris you said a few videos back that you were not a mechanic well I think you probably are a mechanic light assembly mechanic good job there boy tear that battery bu GG ER up
I regards to the subject matter from @dwaynedee529. You're correct. Another example, I keep my tools and power equipment in a 28 x 32 second garage. It is not insulated, yet. So if I need to use a cordless power tool, first I have to warm up the battery. It has been suggested that I should bring all those batteries and chargers into a warmed area and keep them charged. well, I do to an extent. Otherwise, when their needed for something, they will not be anywhere near at full power. If you attempt to put a cold battery in a charger when it is very cold, like an ice cube, usually the charger will flash indicating a warm/cold battery pause. So, I fire up a heater and set them in front of the heater and warm them all up and set them on their chargers. So, if I had a battery powered snowblower, would that battery react to the cold environment in the same fashion? I can grab my gas powered blower, turn on the fuel, turn on the choke, move the throttle to full, push the primer 4 or 5 times, and with usually one or two pulls, it's running.
Hi Chris!!😀😀 I have been waiting for you to demo the battery blower. I'm considering getting one for Linda to use so she won't have to worry about putting gas in it and then trying to get it started. It seemed to do pretty good considering how wet and nasty the snow was. It definitely isn't as strong as a gas one. But I thought it did okay. Any idea how much that model costs?? Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al

Good point!
@@InTheWoodyard getting stuff fresh out of the box is rarely a happy experience.
My 66 y.o. mind would automatically think that it was me that was doing something wrong.
There might be a Tech line phone # you can call..
Great job as always
I appreciate that Evan!
I watched a video on gas a while back. The engines run hotter on premium, the explosions inside the engine are greater, which may not be good for some engines. I run premium in all mine too, big and small.
Yup!
Lol if we had that much snow here in the uk , we grind to a halt for days 😂
Snow is like rain is for you, it happens.
Egads. It's like the damn stop-start on my car when I hit a red light. It's definitely a geezer safe tool. Friggin fraggin grrr!
Yup, a kids toy, very safe!
I've had some clients with electric snowblowers, they're good for their driveways here in Ontario. But that's probably it, suburban settings.
Yup, sidewalks, maybe.
Looks like the Powersmart would be good in a Florida snowstorm
Yup!
Man o man you always have your work cut out for yah. Lots an lots to do Some tuff whattttt 👍👍
Yup!!
The electric snow blower is good for south Florida.
Haaa!
Being that you're a Honda guy, i'm surprised you didn't know that Honda makes great snowblowers. They are pricey, but they work great.
Yup, they do, but I do not have one or know much about them.
How much would that electric thing cost with the 2 batteries
My guess, $900-1000???
When personal safety gets ahead of getting the job done, we've lost -Teddy Roosevelt

I can't imagine a battery operated anything would last in very cold temps/wind.... but it might be a great machine for people with small projects.
No, it died FAST!

Wow I will take gas that thing may be good for walkways and Powder snow ❤the video
Yup, that is about it!
Even at the sale price of 750, I think I will stick to gas. Wonder how the Toro electric version compares?
Yup, me too, I do not intend on finding out.
These little battery snowblowers are equal to 5hp gas engine. The snowblower slows itself down as an automatic "self preservation" feature to keep the motor from being overworked. The gas engines start bogging and we manually slow down. This just does it automatically. Definitely annoying with the lack of power.
Yup, less power in a blower is not good.
From the video it looks like you did the”man or Chris thing”and didn’t read the directions. But you got it running which is the main thing! Keep blowin former besty!👍TCT
Sounds like Chris should have had someone over for a tool review..😁👍
@@DanielAtkinsFirewood Daniel it’s sad but true!😂😂😂😂TCT
What is this thing you speak of , directions??? Never heard of it!
Ha!!!
My club 26inch cadet has finger brakes that allow you spin around .
Yes my big one has L&R turn switches that do that too.
Ventrac should sponsor you boys that would be a perfect match
@@InTheWoodyard I know alot of things are expensive but have you seen the Ventrac SSV it's practically indestructible
As far as your chainsaw bogging down it could be your air filter or gas filter or it could be dirt in your carburetor on your screen or your carburetor seals might need be changed because they could be dry and cracking.
Screen on the Exhaust too.
It was an internal fuel filter, all fixed now!
Did you try a model out before you bought it?
No, it was sent to me for free and to do a video.
@In The Woodyard Sometimes free is not cheap enough. You got it running, and it did blow snow.
I have a Honda, Ariens, Toro and a Murray. All appear to work better than the Powersmart.
Yup, so does a shovel.
Morning all
Hello Brock!
I prefer Gas over battery....not totally convinced on green power. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Battery hand tools are great, but everything else????
Nah. I'll keep burning dead dinosaurs in my snowblower!
Yup!!!!
Toro quick stick for the win!!!
Yes, it is awesome!
They sent Adam the same blower.
Hometown acres did a video also.
Yup, for some easy jobs it will work.
Two different colours for the batteries from one company, that's novel!
Yup
Skid shoes. You gotta adjust the skid shoes.
Seems aggravating. I think I’ll keep using a shovel in the small areas and the Deere 317 skid steer with 96 inch bucket in the big areas
Yes and yea!!!!
Yup, you are correct!
Is there such a thing as a riding zero turn snowblower? 😂. I seen a snowblower once in my life, in a pawnshop, because Cajun country gets very little snow.
Search Toro Ground master snow blower
Probably so!
Cool!
Nice light on wheels. Made for an octopus.
Or a 5 year old.
Chris you said a few videos back that you were not a mechanic well I think you probably are a mechanic light assembly mechanic good job there boy tear that battery bu GG ER up
I know just enough to get by and enough to know when I need help!
Why are you blowing snow on the building?
Because it is mine and I can.
Are you better than a machine? You are a machine!!!
Thanks!
Keith, that is some thing most people do not think of, you are correct, batteries are allergic to cold, we have cold.
As you said the electric is probably good for smaller home use.
Yup, but not great!
Hi Chris!!😀😀
I have been waiting for you to demo the battery blower. I'm considering getting one for Linda to use so she won't have to worry about putting gas in it and then trying to get it started. It seemed to do pretty good considering how wet and nasty the snow was. It definitely isn't as strong as a gas one. But I thought it did okay. Any idea how much that model costs??
Take care my friend!!😀😀

Check out the Ego brand dual battery units you will be glad you did
Yup, it is like $800 ISH. This one is okay and my wife will use it at home.
Thanks Jean!
@@InTheWoodyard you are welcome
Did you purchase the processor
Nope
No, Andrew gave it to me to make videos, and I will be doing so again soon!
On the lithium battery , look up how to mine it how much Earth they have to move to get the lithium I ran into a RUclips video on that a while ago
One grand canyon hole for every battery!
Yep or a deep lake
I’m sure it works well in California where it come from, but not here in the real world or the north where snow is measured by the foot.
I think it was from China!
Safety crap. I love you. Plain and simple. Faster and easier to use a shovel. I love you. That electric snowblower thing is designed for and marketed to duffus.... Just say'in.
It would be great for a 5-10 year old to help out.
Wait till you get the bill for all of the “cat scans” from the wood yard, those things aren’t cheap 😂
Sorry, I am slow, I do not get it???

Super safe snow blower must have been designed by city workers
Yup!
8, I did it!
OOH! The 8 ball!
Chris it looks like in order to save the world from gasoline you have to accept the future of electric. Slow and shuts off immediately to save battery life.
No. I do not have to. I will stick with what works best. GAS.
Powersmart definitely needs some re-engineering (and less safety stuff)
Yup.
I am gas all the way on machinery of any kind. By the time you get done blower snow with the electric blower, winter will be over 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You gave it a fair shot with its 5 mins of shame, better switch over to the gas before you because a frozen lawn ornament.
Yup, I agree!
I cringe when I see people throw snow at windows, especially single pane. It's a quick lesson most of the time.
