The RX 6600 XT is $100 AUD cheaper than the RTX 3060 in Australia right now. Definitely gonna get the RX 6600 XT! Great video!
but nvidia has more quality
overall
@@adrianobertoldi that may be true, but economy always dictates the final say in a consumer mind... eh.. well... in most cases.

@@Abhi-tr9hj Okay, now that you corrected him... it makes sense what he meant by "more quality".
But I still don't see how he can think Nvidia has more features. The Nvidia cards do not have any gaming features (including ray tracing and dlss) that AMD does not have.
The rx 6600 xt is 30% more expensive than the rx 6600 non xt and the rtx 3060 is 50% more expensive than the rx 6600 non xt in my county. I am definitely going to get the rx 6600 non xt.
But 6600Xt is 30℅ better also.
Same in my country. But with my budget i get only rx 6500xt :(

Rx 6600 xt 460-470€

the 1% lows are the most important number and that 6600xt having higher 1%'s means its the superior card.
6600xt is a no brainier. Costs less than 3060, uses less power, performs better.
Couldn't care less about ray tracing.
Dlss is to keep in mind
@@anonymus5173 yeah but considering the price difference, imma still vouch for 6600xt.

@@anonymus5173 No DLSS and DSR and all that are just a crutch and look blurry. You shouldn't need them you should buy a GPU that performs at the resolution you want to play at.
@@eclipsegst9419 ah yes the classic get rich loser argument
For those who want raw performance aka non-rtx, get the AMD counterparts, but if you want to have RTX on, get an rtx 3060 since it has DLSS. AMD has FSR but currently not a lot of games support it yet.
I pretty much have to go AMD as I like to use Ubuntu and the AMD wayland support is so much better. But I also don't game and use my desktop as a workstation so RTX is not important to me at all. Because of that, it usually makes sense to go AMD since they are cheaper this generation while still having really good performance.
FSR is also not that great, at least in Far Cry 6. I think they improved it with the latest patch, but one month ago it still looked pretty bad even on High at 1440p.
Very soft, muddy and grainy, but still aliased in the distance.
I'm not hating on AMD at all here, I own an Rx 580 and I'm happy with it. I just think FSR can't keep up at all with DLSS, but then again, it's not meant to do so and it's just the first version while DLSS is already on 2.3 I think
RSR is coming very soon, so FSR game compatibility won't be an issue anymore
@@maaax1173 I haven't played FC6 but every game i have tried it i got about a 20fps bump from even its highest quality setting and not enough visual difference to care about, or often it let me trade that fps back for settings and it looked better at equal framerate. Either way these are features for people overdue for replacement not someone buying a new gpu, who should be targeting 1080p with these cards and not need any of these features for several years when hopefully the market has long since corrected and upgrading will be more reasonable and straightforward than now.
at msrp, the 3060 is way better choice than 6600xt, whether caring abour rt/dlss or not.
They are overkill for 1080p, should be comapred at 1440p where 3060 will crush 6600xt. Also has more ram, probably not gonna be useful but allows it to do 4k.
Try RX 6600 VS RX 5600 XT :)
Ngl, the RX 6600 isnt bad at all, its almost 10c lower in tempertures, but only as littel as 4-6 FPS difference
I’m switching to AMD now. I just can’t get any nvidia and they’re also too expensive
you just told the truth
Keep in mind he is testing with an Intel 10th Gen CPU, which doesn't support pcie Gen 4. RX 6600 and XT both have only 8 Lane connections, holding back a bit of performance when running @3.0
3060 uses 16 lanes, so it should deliver full performance
It's just 2-3 fps tho
just few fps with pcie 4.0
i dont think any graphics card this gen has taken advantage of full pcie 3.0 x16, let alone 4.0.
Usually it's no more than 1/2% difference, if any. However a couple of titles do seem noticeably hit by the loss of lanes when on pcie 3. Hitman 3 and Doom particularly, over 10% loss in FPS is reported. All a moot point to me on a 75hz display!
AMD cards are selling like hot cake... do you catch my drift? or should i say AMD outsold NVIDIA cards in a blink of an eye. why is that so?
Also important for cooling, GPU temps were reasonably higher with the 3060 than the 6600 and even the 6600 xt. Definitely worth $50 more than the 3060.
The 6600 XT is a good $75-100 less than the 3060.
atleast not laptop heat.
The rtx 3060 draws between 170 and 180 watts while rx 6600 only 132 watts which is also great
that will vary depending on which brand you choose.
gpu temps dont matter that much, as long as they stay below throttle temp
Hello I have a n 1650 video card in my current system is it difficult to uninstall and install the AMD drives for the 6600

Can somebody explain why the 6600XT reports significant less memory used 90% of the time?
Can anyone tell me which addon this is to tell temps frames ETC?
Hello, after 1 month of deep meditation I came to the conclusion that both GPUs are worth the price. For the $470 the RX6600 costs, you're getting the right performance for the price, if you want an rx 6600 XT you're paying 30% more price (600USD) but you also get 30% more performance. At least that's its price in Mexico in March 2022.
Update: Prices at 1st May 2022 are around $420, whilst 6600xt prices have dropped to 520USD and 6700XT prices are around $690-$700. taking advantage of the fact that in this time I was able to save 700 I consider that the 6700 or the 6600XT are also, one of the best options for price.
2nd update: Prices at 20st june for 6600XT dropped to 490USD whilst prices for 6700XT have dropped to $650USD. I'd say it's better to be able to buy a 6700XT but if 4K it's not priority 6600XT is good af for more than $100USD less.
6600xt is $479 in US
@@user-vd3pu3kx5b You need to pay 16% VAT to import it to Mexico.
The thing is this "30% extra performance" is barely noticeable. The higher FPS you get, the less you notice the small increases -- it's diminishing returns. Anything above 60 FPS looks fluid enough, up to a point in frame rate where it makes no difference at all (especially above 90 FPS). The only noticeable difference between both cards is in Cyberpunk 2077, where the average FPS for the non-XT dropped to 50. Still very good.
@@gp5109 30% Extra performance is very noticeable especially at 4K and QHD resolution in medium, high and ultra settings. At 1080p High and Ultra, 6600 and 6500XT are strong an will remain strong for almost 2 years.

Yea better stick to my RX 5700xt now it's not a smart move to get a new GPU under current circumstances
I disagree, this only applies if you don't have a vga, if you already have it, just sell and buy another one, because old vgas have also valued... I go from a 1660 to a 3060 without seeing any difference... ;)

i have:
ryzen r5 3500
msi b450 pro vdh max
16gb ram 3200 ddr4
cv 450 80+ bronze watt
it's honestly very little difference for most games pcie 3/4 with those two cards. i would get the 6600 out of the two if you don't care about ray tracing as the 6600 is faster. power supply is just at the requirement of both of those cards. just don't get a 6500 if that's all you can find.
both are x8 limited. so you will be running pcie 3 x8. That said, the 6600 is the much much better buy over the 3050 at this point
May I suppose that without ultra it would run as great in a 1440p game?
Yes. Games that are a bit older will even run at 4k fine
The 1080ti ran at 1440p and 4K when it released, it pretty much made the previous gen obsolete (especially the 980ti).
i personally use an rtx 3060, it’s overclocked and with optimised settings i play 90+fps 1440p and 4k60+fps in the games i play... like red dead redemption 2 i play 1440p 70-80fps with mostly high settings and as much medium than ultra depending on the looks and performance
do keep in mind i also use an i7-12700k so even if you optimise your settings you migh have lower performance than what i have
I have an i7-10700k processor and today I bought an rx 6600 the problem I have is that when I connect it to the gpu and use it in a game the temperature of the processor's cpu rises to 80 90 100 degrees and I see that this is not normal, but When I disconnect and use with my intel integrated graphics I don't have any temperature problem... could someone help me!
Easy, buy a new thermal solution
Yeah but can it handle Minecraft?
All joking aside, I may have to get the xt over the non-xt now. The 3060 was never really an option but now I can really see the extra cost isn’t worth it.
I never thought that I would say this for 128bit card but 6600 is a beast and perfect for 1080p even in 2023.

@Кот Тучка 60 fps is enough for singleplayer
@Кот Тучка 60 FPS for a single player is absolutely what you should strive for, you get ridiculously diminishing returns to reach 100+ FPS on games like Red Dead 2 or Horizon Forbidden West. Those games favour immersion and picture quality. We could agree on something like Doom Eternal, maybe, but that game is so well optimised that even a lot of older hardware can get 100+ FPS without maxing quality.

I got a RX 6700XT ON NEVEMBER 6 AFTER MY GTX 970 burned. huge uprade evrything runs maxed 1440p 60 fps now!
Yes ok, we get it, you made this comment to brag. If it's like that, I challenge your 6700xt with my 6800xt to a deathmatch
I dont really mind the ray tracing. I only want 80+ fps on most 1080p high graphics settings on most games. In my country the cheapest gpu is rx6600 by a lot compared to rtx 3060 than rx6600xt
funny part is i get this numbers with same setings with my 5700xt and the old r5 1600 af most be the best bang for buck card ever made byed it for half the price of this cards new 2018 i think and supporting pcie 4.0
I love amd but I've bad experience with their drivers

@@turtleboi9385 he is right fanboy fight is fuckn dumb. Get the stronger one no matter if amd or Nvidia if it's the same price u can pay.
I don't think an rtx is worth it yet since not many games support rt and without rt and is pretty similar
rt on a 3060? yea right.
@@master_baiter1873 At 1080p ultra a 3060 should be fine, but probably not a super high refresh rate (144hz for example) indeed.
@@luukherfst1209 60? Ehhhh... idk
In my country the 6600 starts at 450$ And the 6600 at 600$ 10 fps more isn't worth 150 dollars for me
That's exactly what am thinking. Is the 10fps really worth ( on average) 100$ more?
Am I the only one that can't see a visible difference? Looks like availability and price are the only factors for me.
They're on the same graphics settings and even if you're on 60fps res on RUclips, that's still lower than the average fps these cards are showing. You might notice stutter on things like the 3060 for Horizon Zero Dawn, given that the 1% low FPS dipped below 60, but what you're really comparing here is the FPS numbers. (If this is more reading than you're willing to look for, look for paragraphs that start with "in short" for TLDR summaries.
At this price point, and for these relatively recent games, the difference is pretty minimal on a classic 1080p 60Hz monitor, because your display literally can't push past that if that's what you're using. But a lot of newer monitors are pushing that significantly - 1440p and 4K resolutions will both push these video cards way down in frame rate, especially the 4k, which is literally like having 4 1080p monitors in a 2x2 grid. And most mid-to-high end monitors even on the business side of things these days go up to 75Hz, and some higher end models have more than twice that. So if you're running a more advanced panel, you'll definitely see differences. And if you're hoping to buy a computer that performs well for several years with modern games, it's worth buying a video card that exceeds the needs of your display for now because future games will be even more demanding than they are today.
The main stuff I'd watch for is the average FPS, the 1% Low FPS, and the difference between these two numbers. Average FPS is fairly self explanatory. 1% Low FPS is the frame rate at which it's higher than 99% of the time. That highlights issues like lag spikes and stuttering. If the FPS average is 80, but the 1% low is 20, for instance, there's probably been a several second long lag spike, which is really jarring and makes the game close to unplayable despite having a good FPS on average. Conversely, if the FPS average is 60 and the 1% Low is 55, that means the card is starting to struggle in general, but it's not having those massive lag spikes. If you have a really good eye for frame rate, you'll notice that it's not quite going as fast as that 60 Hz spec your monitor has (if it's not higher), but it's going to be close to optimal and it's not going to be giving you jarring lag spikes, so you probably won't care too much.
In short: average FPS is a score of how powerful the card is. 1% Low compared to average FPS is a score of how consistent it is.
(And I have no idea what the D3D12 Frametime means. Google failed me in providing a concise explanation.)
The other number I'd look at some is the temperatures, though that's less critical because of all the variables. The temperature of the cards is a function of how much heat the card puts out, how good the coolers are on those specific models of card (the cooling system varies by end manufacturer, as do a few other things about the layout of the circuit board behind it - the 6600/6600XT/3060 is determined by the processor on the card and a few standards set by AMD/Nvidia), how good the cooling is on the case or test bench the person running these tests used, how hot it was in the room these tests were run in...there's a lot of factors. Mostly you want to look at the temperatures to see if they're going into the 80-90 degree range, which either indicates they're running really hot or something is very wrong with one of those other factors. And if you do see it pushing up to 95-100 degrees, you should start to see the MHz value next to it go down and a corresponding decrease in FPS scores as the card goes into thermal throttling in an attempt to avoid overheating and damaging itself. For these more mid-range parts, though, you shouldn't be seeing that kind of thing happening. Even for top end parts if they're in a setup that provides proper ventilation, the massive coolers you see on stuff like the 3090Ti should be enough to prevent overheating at their set speeds; thermal throttling is more of a concern for overclocking.
In short, glance at the temperatures now and then. If it's above 80 degrees, it's either a very hot running chip (and needs care to properly ventilate) or something went wrong with the tester's setup.
I've had a 560 TI since like, 2016? In addition, I bought it used. And I think of buying an RTX 3060 but it breaks my balls that each time there are never available and in addition they are at 570 € minimum in France.....................

6600 is still a great card. All the head to head benchmarks I have seen against the 3060 the 6600xt actually gets a few more frames. I haven't even overclocked it and I am very happy. Nice thing with these rediculous prices is that they are holding their value very well used. So if you decide to upgrade in the near future you will be able to get very close to what you paid for it
rx6600 all the way. Price, Temps, Power Consumption, for 5-10% less fps. in time rx6600 will be even better.
