- In this one we look at some gameplay in the tier 5 American medium Sherman M4 where we try to show the importance of patience in World of Tank...it can be boring but also vital!!

I love the M4 and at one stage had all of them including premiums, Fireflys and even the oddities with the FL10 turret, and I have notebooks of data and spreadsheets about the various tech tree and premiums etc (Yeah I'm one of THOSE players - the bean counters, the nerds) There's not a lot between the variants, all the ones with the standard gun and all the ones with the 76 are about the same performance, the one odd one is the Calliope - despite having the standard 75mm L/37 it gets better penetration of 117 standard and 159 premium compared to 92/127 for all other M4 with 75s in the game.
Yeah patience and position are key, I spec mine for as much mobility I can get and best gun handling - I got the speed of the Improved M4 from 56 stock to 64! All the while being aware I can't get hit as the M4 is easily over matched by almost everything.
I currently play the Fury which just came back out, but another good one is the thunderbolt, and one that gets overlooked is the Russian Loza's M4A2 with a stock speed of 51 and the 76mm M1A2 gun. I take a lot of HE, not much premium and when I get bounces I fire the HE into tracks, sides, trying to get damage to modules - that's what real 75mm Shermans did in WW2, fired HE or WP at tough targets, trying smash radio antennas, break viewports, and set fires especially if there was gear or fuel stored externally. No one is going to stay and fight in a tank thats on fire!

My favourite sherman is definitely the Jumbo. The armour allows you to do silly things and you rarely see them so it surprises people as they just think its a sherman so don't aim properly.

Sure is an interesting encounter base location... Not one I've ever played.
