Super rear loader video. Nice work and attention to safety. I think it would be neat to see a load of carts like this dumped at the trash or recycling facility.
A really super and satisfying video. Not something you see every day, very different. There's something kind of ironic about a waste yard producing waste and using their own trucks to get rid of it. The driver is clearly someone who knows to keep well clear from behind the truck while cycling it and ensure it finishes cycling before moving to keep away from spraying liquids and flying debris. Some of those carts sure did not want to go ha ha. Thanks for posting this really unique video. Keep up the great work!
@@NZRubbishTrucks glad you enjoyed the video! It’s never something I would have thought about until working for a garbage company, but it makes sense that the garbage company itself also has trash produced just like any other company
Definitely a more unique load! Nice footage and thanks for sharing. Couple questions too, are the brown carts just the old trash color before they switched to grey, or do they signal something like bi-weekly collection? Do any carts that get swapped /turned in get reused if they're in good shape, or just the newer ones like Toters and Cascades? Also on the subject of carts, if you ever decide to go into movie production and do a cart update on your collection I'd certainly like to see that!
@@TheTransitCamera glad you enjoyed this! Brown carts are biweekly trash and grey carts are weekly trash yes. And we do reuse everything until it is no longer usable, it’s very common for a new start here to have ottos for their carts. Someday I’ll do a cart update, but it’ll likely be unlisted
amazes me how many yards just leave hundreds to thousands of junk carts laying everywhere for YEARS, do you guys usually make an effort to salvage parts off first or do yall just tend to throw everything in that yellow kickbar is a nice touch too lol, don't see that often on solid color trucks
@@GarbageTrucksofSanJose yeah I’ve never understood how places can leave so many carts sitting around the yard, but it’s made for some pretty nice acquisitions over the years to the collection as a result so I’m not complaining. And yes we keep a very healthy supply of parts on hand at all times to repair carts, as parts start to get low, we’ll start parting stuff out again until the stock builds back up
cool video! Carts seem so awkward to pack. sucks to see the classics go, they looked pretty good but customers are picky about their cans I guess. The flying parts were fun. How often does this driver clean up the yard?
@@brianspencer6955 once the carts are cracked, it’s only a matter of time until they break the rest of the way, time costs money so no reason to reuse something that’s broken, especially when company image matters. Normally I pack the cans with my side loader, but I decided to pull the rear load around for a video
Sucks to see those Classics tho but it's understandable given they're beyond reasonable repair. Honestly quite entertaining watching you toss carts in the hopper lol, with the occasional flying lid or wheel. Y'all send the crushed load off to plastics recycling or landfill?
@@RecologySpencer yeah it’s a bummer the classics are cycling out, but being 22-34 years old they’ve held up quite nicely. Figured the crunching and snapping would peak some people’s interest. I’ll probably do another video like this at some point
@@Bin_Truck_Fan87 looks can be deceiving, all of these cans either had cracks or broken handles making it so they weren’t able to be redistributed to customers unfortunately

Does the plastic get recycled? probably not much but the metal axles at least seem worth stacking up for scrap.
Who’s got time to be taking metal axels of 100 toters lolol. Throw that bs out

Half of those carts looked to be in good condition and could have been re used. However, I hope they are able to get recycled.

A garbage truck picking up old garbage cans instead of garbage weird but cool
Hopefully the materials from that get recycled, it would be a shame if they didn’t

Why don't they get recycled? Kind of weird to be throwing these away, as a municipal.
