Hi I'm from the Caribbean and we use seamoss in various ways and to acquire all the essential nutrients both internally and topically is to use in the raw form. After thoroughly washing the moss a few times , place in water that has been boiled and cooled and cover and keep in the refrigerator for a few days and then blend it using the liquid it was sitting in.....most flavor and no nutrients lost by cooking and the texture is the same as boiling
I just clean the sea moss thoroughly with water, soak it for 12-24 hours in distilled water, rinse thoroughly, then proceed with preparing the gel. Preserving the integrity of the vitamins and minerals in the sea moss is the entire point. Boiling causes the opposite effect. Just chiming in as a certified organic skin and hair care formulator.
You aren't supposed to boil sea moss, adding any kind of heat to sea moss diminishes the integrity of the nutrients it contains. If you are using sea moss for it's vitamins and minerals a way you can retain its benefits and achieve that gel like liquid solution is by soaking your sea moss overnight in a covered bowl and draining it the next day, Just a tip from someone who makes sea moss gels frequently.
has anyone had spoilage with Seamoss lotion or body butters? made a batch of seamoss body butters gave them out as gifts and people complained they started to grow black mold.☹️ I added a preservative not sure how to prevent this in the future or even how it happened. I was super embarrassed 🤦🏾♀️HELP!
You have to look, but you can Pyrex and glass bowls of that quality at Good will or if u check online you can go to FB and there's lots of sets of that great quality
love your link!!! So it is ok to simmer your Sea Moss? and still receive all the Nutrition benefits and get the benefits by adding to my body butters for my customers
thank you for such a informative video! I have a question, how long would the lotions or face moisturizers last? I know that the regular gel form of seams is good for 2-3 weeks, but if its in a skincare or maybe lip balm, how long could it last? thank you!
preservative yes, and you could reduce 1/2 or all of the water to create a product you could whip... then put it in the stand blender on 6 or 7.... you will always need a preservative because of the organic ingredients.
I just requested to join your FB group, I’d love to learn more. I’m looking for 1 particular piece of information, the preservative to keep the Seamoss from spoiling? I craft vegan products and I’m having a hard time figuring that small piece out. I can’t wait to join your community
@@mikaskerr6098 I'd say typically about 4 mos with regular use. If no fingers are being dipped in it (which degrades the product over time), or they're using a spatula to take some product out, it's closer to the 6-month mark. But the idea is to make a body butter so good that they can't stop using it so it goes quickly! 😉
Hello, Thanks for letting me know. I am currently installing a new feature to the membership area that will allow you to print your bar codes onto your labels (for more advanced soap sellers) This was just forcing everyone to log in directly while I was installing it, but I have put all the settings back to normal ,so these links should work fine for you now. Welcome to my crazy soap making world!!! I cant wait to see what you make.
Hi! I have a question about your "Calming Lavender Lotion" recipe. The ingredients do not list water but the instructions say to simmer water. Then to add water to melted butters and oils. So how much water are we supposed to add??
yes. you need to use a preservative which is incorporated into the full recipe. If you do not use a preservative, you can expect this to act like food.
Hello im new here.. love your page and so happy i subscribed so i dont lose you. Basically i was wondering if you could make a recipe for athletes foot cream or soap? My bf has it bad and i hate it and want it far away from me lol. I feel like its the shower and work all day on his feet. Theyre also crackdd badly do you reccomend something for the cracking? Thank You
lo, do you mean the dried salt from ocean that was washed off? it is perfectly natural sea moss. i am not yet purchased sea moss from this company and opened the package to find a bag of yarn or ramen noodles....

Are you trying to say that you use a different 'type' of sea algae? You may be used to a different genus. They are ALL real. There are Northern Temperate cold water species like Chondrus Crispus and Tropical warmer water species like Gracilaria, Kappyphycus and Eucheuma. When dried, they look different and may take different lengths of time to create gel. They are ALL nutritional and deliver lots of minerals and goodness. Some produce Carrageen Gel and some produce Agar Agar Gel.
@@ThermalMermaidPerhaps the person is talking about farmed sea moss that wasn’t harvested from the ocean. Either way I don’t pay too much for mine. $60 for 12 pounds. It’s all good stuff!❤

Mine is always lumpy when I do this for a lotion. Do you have any tips?
Thank you for the sea moss putting tip! I always need a quick breakfast!
Thanks for an informative take on this. I never boil any of my ingredients but sea moss does give a facelift. Thanks🌹

Have you ever made sea moss body oil?
All facts
Some dr on RUclips (not sebi) said the correct way was to actually boil it.
Sebi said boil
I've never seen it boiled either. That was new to me

Do you mean solid bars?

Same here, I'm getting flare ups.
I can’t help but to eat the gels before I add it to anything it’s sooooo gooooood!
Hello! for making a lipbalm would you recommend using the water from the moss, or the actual blended moss?
For more vitamins & minerals, use the soaking water.
