As person who has been in this part of hospitality for many years (in Europe!) I have some insight about this. About 80% of guest are nice and respectful, but there are always going to be people that are careless and don't respect your place. Leaving messes behind and causing damage. Its very frustrating but it is something that I had to learn and get use to. It is apart of the short term renting out experience.

how mature this gurl is! Didnot check their ids, didn't even check the camera once when she was getting all the emails, didnot even get someone to go check on the house about whats going on. damn
That really sucks, so sorry to hear! Hosting Airbnb as well, had an experience in a similar vein and it was (maybe also second booking) but definitely one at the very beginning. Some stuff was broken, towels, pillows and bedding was stolen, and same thing with check in- definitely was an unfortunate start to it all but you get in the groove of filtering people and putting in measures to ensure stuff like that doesn’t happen. You can check how many people enter on you house and charge her for each person, also charge her for everysingle item. Because in the Airbnbs said that they have charge for everything. Not every people are like this but that people was so disrespectful
Sorry that this was your experience @MyLifeasEva. As a fellow Airbnb host there are resources available through the website that you can utilize to ease any discomfort you may have. One of them is requesting that guest identity be verified for instant bookings. As relates to the immediate cancellation saga, perhaps Alaska was found to have some type of criminal record? It definitely sounds like a very strange/unusual request from airbnb to evict this person. I hope your bookings moving forward will be a success. I have been a host for two years without issue. Happy to share notes sometime.
i was so confused how someone could do this to a house, but then you said the potential trip and that makes sense! but i’m so sorry this happened to you!!
This is BRUTAL. how dare these evil people!! I've stayed at countless air bnbs while at a festival and never ran into this. Even the last EDC, when we had 10 people at the house and shit was everywhere - we RESPECTED the house. Every day was a small cleanup and we all pitched in the last day to thoroughly clean everything and put things back the way they were. I'm disgusted. I'd recommend talking to the people ahead of time and getting a vibe check before opening up your home. I'm sorry you had to go through this, especially as your second booking. Still hella curious what the reasoning was for the cancellation
I have never understood why someone would let strangers into THEIR HOME. I know it probably pays well, but it would not be worth to me. You never know what kinda people they are... and the idea that strangers are touching my things, sleeping in my bed, using my kitchen, my shower... gross... omg that's a freaking horrible idea for me! You never know, these people might be on drugs, be sick, may break something, ouch this would be a nightmare for me, I'm panicking just from the idea of it! haha but I guess that most people wouldn't mind... I would allow this only in case in which the house would be only for renting, without me ever living or staying there. I'm just super sensitive and overprotective about my stuff, things that are deer to me and don't want a stranger to touch any of that! 🙃
I went to Georgia for a conference.. we did not get to stay at our Airbnb. Broken mirrors, vases, etc. You couldn’t even see the floor. The microwave was put in the laundry machine and turned on. Pillows and other stuff were missing. The owner could not get a hold of the person that left the place like that. This was just a few of many troubles that weekend
I think you need to charge A LOT especially for big events bc people can be reckless at least this way you have extra profits in case something like this happens
Definitely need to increase your price! Usually folks who can afford expensive Airbnb, will treat it with respect because they have class. Glod luck next time.
Add a surveillance camera to your living room and common area spaces as well. Nothing in the rooms and bathrooms obviously. People need to be held responsible for what they damage.
@@maddymiller123 I can't speak for others, but I've booked on AirBNB once.....and that house had a surveillance camera in the downstairs common area. It didn't bother me at all. But I do understand and agree with you. Cameras in the front door bell and the backyard are good enough.
This triggered the “you messed with my friend now I’m going to end you” side of me fr 😅 I am truly so sorry this happened to you, all that love & work your poured into making a home & these entitled (high) asshats just went feral on it….I’m seething
I had an issue like this but worse with some British guests and I had to fight with Airbnb for more than 3 month to get reimbursed for cleaning etc , they literally trashed the place and broke many pieces of furniture .. used condoms everywhere, stained couch etc etc .. airbnb couldn’t care less worst customer service, from one rep to another for months , a nightmare
propably also more than just 4 people. need outside cameras at this point. door camera to see whos coming in. cameras in the backyard to see if theyre sneaking people in and a list of LITERALLY EVERYTHING you paid for to furnish the house. If something gets stolen and needs to be replaced they can be charged for it.
I’m so sorry Eva😢 Coming from someone who cleans airbnbs, it is so unfortunate and irritating that people can be so disrespectful. I have absolute horror stories.
i have only rented an airbnb once in my life and it was very recent, i live in India and i went on a three day trip with 5 other people so we stayed at the house we used all their amenities but the day we left we made sure we treated the place like our own home and we cleaned up we took out the trash washed all the utensils we used and took the leftover food out of the fridge. Airbnbs are such a beautiful experience i hope people can respect this! I wish to rent out your house once, it looks beautiful ! I'm sorry all of that happened to you hope its better now. Much love
In Australia it's really common for two girls to book a really expensive beautiful mansion of a house or apartment for a weekend and then it turns out 300 people go there and it's a wild party and they use fake credit cards to pay for it all. So nothing gets paid for. I would never do it. Just spread it out on a weekly rate to someone who cares about the place. Air B&b is a scam.

Not sure! She had 12 good starred reviews but i didn’t read what they said. My friend who has an Airbnb said she might have paid and then reported it to her bank as fraud so she’d try to get all the money back

it’s so crazy how it feels like just yesterday i was watching the vlog you announced the purchase of the house and now this… i know how hard you worked Eva, so sorry this happened.
I’m sorry that happens to you!! I love to stay at Airbnb’s here where I live in Coachella as well and my boyfriend and I are super respectful to other peoples places, I even wash the dishes and leave the places spot clean how it was before. I wonder what got into these people, super disrespectful of them
how mature this gurl is! Didnot check their ids, didn't even check the camera once when she was getting all the emails, didnot even get someone to go check on the house about whats going on. damn
when I was a housekeeper I realized how disrespectful people can be..... people are just terrible sometimes and so inconsiderable of others :/
I bet you’ve seen some things! 😭
“my rug was fckin broken” I’m so sorry this happened to you but that sentence really sent me.
😂😂😂
i can tell you have the kindest soul in the world. this situation is insane, i'm so sorry this happened to you
This happened to me TODAY. WTF. Just came back from the apartment I rent and it’s destroyed. Why? How? All girls. People is just mean.
Nooo I’m so sorry!!!
@@mylifeaseva ❤️
I literally told my husband I would call him back for this this is important news 😂 edited when I tell you I was on the edge of my seat omg Eva
HAHAAH
LOL
Bro that "door unlocked, door locked" would've drove me crazyyy. But damn, this story sounds nuts overall and I'm Sorry your house got trashed.
Thank you for the storytime was good and educational for people that want to rent there home out.
Thank you!!!
There was definitely more than 4 people staying at the house! Or at least going in and out of the house.
Noooo i hate to think about that 😭😭
That really sucks, so sorry to hear! These experiences are tough but keep at it! they won’t all be like this
This was a wild ride! I hope insurance helps, or if thats even a thing. Definetly sounds like a crazy trip 😂, I didnt even know you could break a rug. Whew chile!
She 100% had a party in your house
here we GOOOOO
I made it 😊
Hahaha let the Airbnb stories begin!!!
OMG EVA I'M A HUGE FAN
oof i think they had a party when the door was locked/unlocked every 5 minutes.. ur house is beautiful and im very proud that you keep this positive mindset and won't let it stop you from renting out again 🥰 ily eva! been literally (my life) following you for more than a decade xxx 22yo girlie from the netherlands
Security cameras would be a good idea.
We have them but not inside the house or facing guest private areas!
@@mylifeaseva Oh! I’m happy to hear that, I hope your next guests are calm, clean, and respectful 😂💖! I look forward to more videos about your Airbnb journey!
Those ppl are savages!!! Keep pushing eva! This house is so beautiful and I'm sure your other guests will respect it properly ❤
I would literally be having a meltdown does insurance cover stolen items ?
Ive watched you complete this beautiful home from the start and I’m so sorry you’ve had to experience this. I know it would be great to have bookings for Coachella but I don’t think it’s worth having a listing for those events it’s like flipping a coin
Yeah you never know what type of guest you’ll have! She had good reviews too
I’m really glad you’re back!! Your videos are incredible!!!
thank you so much!
That’s what we do with my friends! We always all pitch in to help clean everything and read the house rules thoroughly when arriving and leaving 😭
Anyone else not a subscriber but use to watch her in middle scholl and just clicked on her viedo to see how she's doing now Or just me ?
I only came bc of the controversy
I went to Georgia for a conference.. we did not get to stay at our Airbnb. Broken mirrors, vases, etc. You couldn’t even see the floor. The microwave was put in the laundry machine and turned on. Pillows and other stuff were missing. The owner could not get a hold of the person that left the place like that. This was just a few of many troubles that weekend
I think you need to charge A LOT especially for big events bc people can be reckless at least this way you have extra profits in case something like this happens
Wow.Sorry this happened to your beautiful house.Sounds like Coachella bookings are potentially very risky.
This is the first Eva video I have watched in a few years and I forgot how much I love her❤
Definitely need to increase your price! Usually folks who can afford expensive Airbnb, will treat it with respect because they have class. Glod luck next time.
Looks like a big lawsuit and an easy win. Get that taken care of ASAP.
Add a surveillance camera to your living room and common area spaces as well. Nothing in the rooms and bathrooms obviously. People need to be held responsible for what they damage.
absolutely do not add security cameras to common areas. you have to disclose that and frankly most people wouldn’t book it
@@maddymiller123 I can't speak for others, but I've booked on AirBNB once.....and that house had a surveillance camera in the downstairs common area. It didn't bother me at all. But I do understand and agree with you. Cameras in the front door bell and the backyard are good enough.
I just love that you’re being so clear and even showing all the prices and stuff. AMAZING👍
This triggered the “you messed with my friend now I’m going to end you” side of me fr 😅 I am truly so sorry this happened to you, all that love & work your poured into making a home & these entitled (high) asshats just went feral on it….I’m seething
😭😭😭❤️❤️
@@mylifeaseva always gotta have that one friend who’s will to throw hand for you right 🙈🫶
I had an issue like this but worse with some British guests and I had to fight with Airbnb for more than 3 month to get reimbursed for cleaning etc , they literally trashed the place and broke many pieces of furniture .. used condoms everywhere, stained couch etc etc .. airbnb couldn’t care less worst customer service, from one rep to another for months , a nightmare
I feel like they did a big party, which would explain the activity at the front door, no?
You should sage and cleanse the energy in the house!! You never know what they left behind
propably also more than just 4 people. need outside cameras at this point. door camera to see whos coming in. cameras in the backyard to see if theyre sneaking people in and a list of LITERALLY EVERYTHING you paid for to furnish the house. If something gets stolen and needs to be replaced they can be charged for it.
her energy omggg i love herrr
I’m so sorry Eva😢 Coming from someone who cleans airbnbs, it is so unfortunate and irritating that people can be so disrespectful. I have absolute horror stories.
re-playing this video for extra views. sorry to hear about your home; that you worked so hard on! happy to hear you will still rent to young people.
That’s wild! Some people are just very disturbing. How can you treat other people’s property like that?!
I know someone who had a shroom trip and he talked to a lamp the whole time😂 maybe that’s why they hid them
HAHAHAH
i have only rented an airbnb once in my life and it was very recent, i live in India and i went on a three day trip with 5 other people so we stayed at the house we used all their amenities but the day we left we made sure we treated the place like our own home and we cleaned up we took out the trash washed all the utensils we used and took the leftover food out of the fridge.
Eva !!!! Your seriously such a inspiration for me , your so real and down to earth I admire your beautiful relationship with olav amazing decor taste and eye for visual creations (and audio )i love ur music!!! I grew up watching u when I was like 9 or 10 years old in 2014 I am 19 now and out of all the saturation RUclipsrs I watched at the age you are the one I connect with most and aspire to be as productive and successful as you someday ! I literally connect with you so much and relate to how you view things or at least how you explain your mind I guess lol it’s so interesting how you have no idea how much you impacted my life and I just want to thank you from one human to another, I appreciate you just being you & am grateful to be able to have followed you over the years and look up to you as a kid , Eva your honestly such a unique talented breath of fresh air from most online figures as well as people in this world and I know you probably get that a lot but I could not mean it any more sincerely Eva I’m always rooting for you and hope one day to meet you! Sending positive vibrations your way !!!
P.S. don’t forget to sage and cleanse the the house for any possible bad juju or energy they had left during there seemingly overwhelming/bad trip they experienced !
they probably didn’t know if they could smoke there or not and assumed you had cameras on the backyard so they hid in the bushes lmao my best guess
Lol idk why I thought the climax of this story would be bigger 😂
This is hilarious well not that your house got beat up but the fact that they put the chairs in bushes lol and you said they were scared of the faces on the wall 😂that’s really funny but accurate 🤣 my neighbor stole my lawn mower and dragged it through the bushes 😐 I think he was on something 😆 never got my lawn mower back.
Not the LAWN MOWER AHAH
Not a second air bnb account….omgggg!!!! It’s all a learning experience, I wouldn’t of caught that red flag at first too. Omg….I’m scared to hear the rest of the story 😢
This is fucking ridiculous…I’m so sorry girl. We’re definitely not all like this…I always ALWAYS treat another place I stay at better than my own. I can’t fathom doing this. I’ve even had everyone get tf up and clean hotels/Airbnbs on checkout day or night before to clean if we got wack w it. It’s not that hard. I’m so sorry there’s ppl like this but I’m glad you’re making this video for others to be aware of the bullshit that Airbnb hosts have to endure sometimes. Love ya❤️❤️
You explaining how they hid the lamps took me out omg lmao thats crazy
i think they had a partyyy that explains the doorssssm unlocking all the time
This is so sad I completely forgot about this page! I watched you for probably most of my childhood!!
A lot of people go to Palm Springs during Coachella and never buy a ticket. They probably booked it to throw parties.
They thought there were hidden cameras in the lamps I think
You have such a good heart and point of view. I'm so sorry this happened... my stomach dropped while watching this. But you are a force to be reckoned with girl - I know you'll make anything go right ♡
I just cant imagine disrespecting someone elses home I dont even leave hotels messy
How did Airbnb know that she was bad news?
I was wondering too. Probably has a history with other host who’ve left her bad ratings.
Not sure! She had 12 good starred reviews but i didn’t read what they said. My friend who has an Airbnb said she might have paid and then reported it to her bank as fraud so she’d try to get all the money back
I've only ever stayed at ONE Airbnb and I was so paranoid of breaking something. Which my husband actually broke a cup but the host left a paper on where to go to replace it, which was so helpful since we didn't know our way around the area. Anyway, I can't believe someone would leave the place like that?!? Even if they were on whatever they were. Have the decency to clean up after yourself people!!!! I hope you have better experiences in the future! 🥰
1:21 that’s why you don’t put your heart and soul into a rental. renters will never treat it like the homeowner. ah eva ya gotta learn how to be a landlord and treat it like a business
