Mostly built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Wiesbaden is full of grand neoclassic and art nouveau architecture, as well as being a spa town and the capital city of Hesse.

What a beautiful city!
Looks like Wiesbaden is really worth a visit.
If you still have not been there i recoment the Schlosspark (Casstlepark) Its not in the city Centre But Bretty beutifull
Watching this video by English man about my hometown whilst living in the sister town 'Tunbridge Wells' in England... Sachen gibts...
Yeah I guess both cities have the 'thermal springs'. I have not lived here (Tonbridge) for very long, so I am still making up my mind. Tunbridge Wells is certainly better than Tonbridge though, no doubt. Wiesbaden has the big forest right next to it, allowing to easily escape the the streets and noise. Difficult to do that in the southeast of England.
My favourite town in Hessen!!!!!
The Neroberg is also worth a visit.. It has such a great view over the town!!!!
these "fake ruins" actually are the remainings of the previous Kurhaus which became too small after the Kaiser used to visit Wiesbaden and made the city trendy for rich people
Genau das wollte ich auch schreiben.

Happy New Year rewboss and glad to discover your channel!
Very informative and comprehensive talk. Many travel videos show us the wonderful sights but have no background information. Vielen Dank.
To all the Johann Ritzels my ancestors that go way back to forever all from this lovely city. Didn't even learn that until recently, thanks to DNA. And I realize except for a cruel twist of fate would have been my hometown. Thank You for a nice video. ♥
Nice city and nice video.
lovely
Oh wow I live near the Twin town of Weisbaden, Royal Tunbridge Wells UK
I can recommend a Visit to Erfurt, Thuringia. It has nice old city centre.
Moving here soon
Sehr gut :)
Wow! This is amazing! How do you learn so much?
By researching it?

I prefer this architectural style over half-timbered houses.

How many places claim "Azure, three fleur-de-lis Or" as a coat of arms?
I WAS BORN IN WIESBADEN BACK IN 1975
Selber bin ich ja zu faul für Ausflüge, aber deine schau ich gerne an. Habe nicht besonders viel Ahnung was die ganze "Heimatkunde" angeht, umso kurzweiliger sind die Videos.
Now I get why the allies made this city Hesse's capital.
because frankfurt, kassel and darmstadt, the other larger cities in hessen were ruins back then...

Great video. :)
Is it only me, or is the footage a little bit shakier than usual?
It's always a bit shaky. If I can start making a living doing this, I'll spend more time in places and take a tripod with me. Until then...
Bernard Morey If you're into classic/historic architecture, you definitely made that.
Yes the footage was noticeably shaky. Germany is clearly an earthquake zone.
A $20 tripod is recommended.
Interesting Video, but with at least one mistake: 04:23 min: the Marktkirche is not the tallest building like you said and not even the tallest structure of Wiesbaden, like the most said. Tallest building means it have to be a building till the top and if you ask me, it isnt; its just without the belltowers. With the Towers it is a structure but there are at least 2 much taller structures in Wiesbaden. I know it is a well known Information, but it is wrong. I uploaded a Video on my channel "Das höchste Bauwerk von Wiesbaden" which Shows the 2 taller structures. Unfortunately I can't link it here without getting flagged as spam. Best regards, Jeno.

How is returning a son to his Father kidnapping, she's the one who skipped town?
They had mutually agreed that the boy should live with her in Wiesbaden, for the sake of his education. As soon as she had informed him that she had found an apartment, he applied to the church for a divorce in her absence. She refused to recognise the divorce, and then he demanded the return of the boy, and stipulated that she must not accompany him to Serbia. If she did not agree to those terms, he would use his personal contacts to take the boy by force; he also wanted to make it a condition that until the boy had reached the age of majority she would not be allowed to return to Serbia without his personal invitation.
Not long after the boy was brought back to Serbia, the king abdicated. The prince was made king, but as he was not yet an adult, a regency council was set up to make all the decisions. The now former king moved abroad, but remained secretly in close contact with the regency council. He was extremely unpopular with both the Parliament and his subjects, but in this way he remained in power, behind the scenes. Once the boy reached adulthood, the former king returned to Serbia, and used the influence he had over his son to continue persecuting his political enemies. However, he then made the mistake of disapproving of his son's marriage, at which point he lost all his influence over him and was forced the leave the country for good.
It's worth pointing out that before he filed for divorce, he had had several well-publicised affairs.
She didn't. They mutually agreed that she move to Wiesbaden with the crown prince. Only then did he file for divorce and demanded the prince to return to Belgrade.
So he basically wanted to get rid of her but keep the child.
