Galesburg, IL Railroad Days June, 1996 BN F Units and Metra

BN Galesburg RR Days on a rainy dark morning, BN F units pulling an employee special and Metra pulling tours around the yard. BN action around the yard and ATSF on the Transcon.

Great coverage! Nice seeing BN-1 & 2 away from the IRM. Got a cab ride in them when they first arrived at the IRM, very smooth and well maintained units. Too bad they are stored outdoors now.

Man, this brings back memories. It's nice to see the BN & ATSF still in operation. I thought metra only operates around the chicagoland area, and galesburg is 2 hours from chicago. I didn't expect to it here in galesburg.

They were down only for Railroad days and doing yard tours.

Man, I haven't been to Railroad Days in probably 20 years. Looking at videos shot there in recent years, it looks like they don't have as much on display anymore, which is a shame.

Yeah, when the railroad quit participating they pretty much just display a unit and nothing else. It was mid to late 90s, and not any reason to go to the depot except for bus tours of the yard and the unit on display and of course railfan.
