Thomas Sheridan is an Author, Film Maker, Alternative Folklorist and Satirist who has spent a life from Wall Street to the Jungles of South Asia attempting to discover the emerging-often elusive-mythology of modern humans within the present technology-saturated era. Heavily inspire by the work of Carl Jung, Bruno Bettelheim and Joseph Campbell, Thomas Sheridan has developed ‘Monomythic’ tool kits-which drawn upon all the mythologies of the world. So as to demonstrate that on a personal and collective level; these legends and stories contain within them a subconscious lexicon of wisdom and symbols that can help all of us overcome the personal and greater challenges we encounter in everyday life. By not giving birth and nurturing these timeless archetypes within us all, modern humans are at a loss when it comes to achieving personal and social Individuation. Or a rounding out of one’s purpose in life. Their dharma. Their Monomyth. Inside all of us reside a wizard, a warrior, a bard and a knight and by tapping into the power of these archetypes one can have a more fulfilling and creative life. Every challenge a quest. Every situation a saga. Every moment an adventure.

Never boring Mr Sheridan, you're a font of wonderful information, highlighting links to mythologies & their relevance to today, in a way that doesn't feel so highbrow that I can't keep up, I learn so much! Thank you for sharing your breadth of knowledge so generously.

That first part is absolutely bizarre.
Me and a friend had almost the same conversation about the river but I explained it as a lazy warm river full of normies and we were on the bank telling them to get out as we knew there was a deadly waterfall further downstream and they were laughing at us. That was exactly how I felt throughout the jibby jab time. Wow.

RE realising the awkwardness is because nothing is there in NPCs: I had similar experiences to what was mentioned -it was interesting reflecting on it. Also I realised the same process has occurred for me with regards to the collective consciousness of the village i live in (and villages in general) - the brain grapples with it from time to time because it can't quite nail whats wrong. Like with the NPC world, you can try this way and that but the only true resolution is to realise ....there is nothing there.

I love these so much. I remember way way back finding VON and breathing a sigh of relief. Here was someone who spoke the same language at a time when nearly everyone began producing only animal noises or at best childish gurgglings. The atmosphere and the knowledge and experiences shared are exactly right, still, and help provide the kind of tactical tool kit necessary to navigate all the many abyssal dispersions, especially those of recent years where the whole world was swallowed up. The river is esophogeal. The bottomless Kronol intestine. “Thou shalt not be digested!” shall be the whole of The Law.
Can’t help but think of Twin Peaks: The Return. Lynch knew when he had Dr. Jacobi hoist high his golden shovel and shout, “Shovel yourself out of the shit!” And here is the tool you need to do it.
Context is no mean thing. A glimmer of light to avoid the rocks when the seas are black and roiling and you’re in the shit neck deep. It is no mean thing at all.
And so I raise my golden shovel and salute you from shit free shores! See how it glistens in the sun! No need to stay by the river any longer, sir. The golden light of the sun sparkles wherever stand those who have shoveled clear the shit and who know that even if alone, the warm and flickering lights in the distance tell of a vast host of shit free shovelers spread out like constellations as far as the eye can see. And that is enough.
Twinkle twinkle golden star, there is no shit there where you are!

  • @rogerbraintree9552

That was brilliant. I hope the next Von is not too far away. I have always gone out of my way to not be overheard by npcs, for the reason that any sound that vibrates their eardrum is immediately made profane. Any word that passes their eye is likewise. The art of concealment is everything. And that words mentioned to be as inpenetrable containers only understood for whom the message is intended. The npc is like a vaporous acid in that everything it wafts over is rendered waste. It has probably always been this way. when Prometheus stole fire from the gods, it was probably us from whom the fire was stolen, given to the profane in the form of user friendliness in the belief that knowledge would make them wise, but instead they turned that knowledge against those who had earned it. There is a lot said for secrecy. If only there was a way to create a social media program that only pagans could access!

Speaking of novelty: I once got turned around walking my dogs back to the car after spending time at the river- a place I knew well so it was weird. I ended up walking along the railroad tracks and lo and behold, there was a golden toilet on the side of the track where a passing train could see it. And me. What a funny thing to see. Intrigued to hear you speak about circuit boards, rigid geometry and alteration of the psychic state (1hr 5m). Business Insider recently did an article about Apple's Vision Pro explaining that when wearing VR headsets users perception of distance was altered and they suffered from distortions in day to day activities such as trying to get food to their mouths when eating. Their findings regarding long term use were even more interesting in the context of this VON because the researchers believe VR could re-wire the brain making it easier to think of people as un-humans (specifically citing "non-player characters").

One of the things that gives me faith and hope in the darkness of these times … is seeing people reach to the ancient pagan ways for comfort and guidance. It’s incredibly prevalent, and seems to be our spiritual answer to modern fuckery. That’s a really good indication of our intrinsic Nature remaining , In Tact.

Thanks for being the street Druid you are Thomas. I came across your work in 2018 at the age of 20, with a curiosity about occult and Fortean stuff, things I’d experienced, had been down the troofer route for a short time, your channel randomly popped up and I’ve watched regularly and followed since, from super interesting occult things to helping me understand why I never fit in with the normie world when that was exactly needed. You always present your knowledge in layman’s terms which has helped so much as a working class Englishman.
