We definitely don’t always realize how much things from our childhood affect us into adulthood. Way past our 20’s. You don’t know until it’s brought to your attention. Thanks for being so transparent. Also yes! Be proud of your accomplishments it is very motivational for others. Anyone who thinks you’re bragging has their own issues to deal with.
I loved the beginning of you talking through a past trauma and feeling the need to live in your happiness with what you have worked for. I think more women should do that and not feel ashamed about that flex in their life.

You hit home….I have so many unpacked feelings with my mom and our relationship. Yesterday was the first time I was able to open up to a therapist and express my feelings without judgment. ❤️
Same…we haven’t spoken in almost 3 years over something so dumb and petty (on her end and I’m always the bigger person so I’m NOT being this time) I suggested we see a therapist and she shut it down drastically…now it’s awkward at family gatherings cause we don’t speak and they know what’s up now.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think we sometimes forget that physical abuse people can heal from, but emotional abuse takes So much longer though overcome. I started keeping a journal with five things to be grateful for in a sense grown to 25 things, but I did that to help me take my mind off the negative things that I encounter every day. I then began to keep an anger journal so I could just get it out, and then I added a spiritual journal because I wanted to see growth in myself. Writing things down. Help me get them out of my head because I have a tendency to overthink things. You're on the right path and by sharing your story, you're helping all of us to stay on our right path.

I'm sorry but I can't pay that much for a quick weave 🙅🏾♀️ if I'm not doing my own wigs then I'm at the Africans I just took down some Goddess Faux Locs an now I got Senegalese twist. Both were $200
My mother is a hairstylist in the Bay (25+ years of experience) and doesn’t even charge that much for a whole sew-in she got over for sure 🫥🫣

Hey Arnell, I just want to say first how I can relate to you about earning love from others so much.I appreciate you being honest and vulnerable with your audience. Then also encourage you that all the things you are longing for, or have a desire for will get to you. The same way you've made it to your dream lifestyle. God sees your heart, He knows you have that desire of the one thing that may seem so far. Whenever we think like that we are operating out of fear. (Fear of what if it doesn't happen) But fear and faith can not exist together. Keep walking in Faith and the unconditional love God has for you. (1 John 4:18).

I really liked what you said about appreciating what you have and not comparing yourself to other people. Similar to you, my dad treated my sister and I very differently. She got the protection and love that I always wanted and as a transfem person I felt like I always had to protect myself because there wasn't a man in my life that could. I'm happy that you said that you're working on reflecting on your feelings of competing with others, because I feel like I do that as well but in the dating world with other transfem people. Sometimes, if I see a transfem person find love, I doubt myself and ask why I am not good enough to be loved.
