I was in primary school in Lagos, Nigeria. A little boy who heard Natty Rebel playing on the radio. I searched the market for that song and bought it. I was the most popular boy in my neighborhood. God, this man is a god!
U-Roy is a legend, an Icon always.
This Man was very popular all across the West African nations particularly in Nigeria back in the 70s.
This is the man that made me fall in love with reggae music. Rasta ambassador.
I have only been to Jamaica once and I met URoy in the Norman Manley airport. How blessed is that ?
Not the first DJ? But the First to CREATE it into a ‘distinguishable’ ART Form! The Man is one of the Most IMPORTANT Figures in MUSICAL History and his INFLUENCE is IMMEASURABLE!
U showed me the way big daddy will see you soon by jah's grace, and give thanks for jah works it echoed all the the way to the lion mountain Africa. I am the African bush doctor today because of you give thanks 👣

Empress. am i love you on TVJ breakfast when i was there. I really liked Yendi and was very dissapointed that she was leaving Smile Jamaica but when i realised you were taking her place i was happy. Great interview with U Roy.!
powerful and interesting interview
The "Originator" for *sure* !! His 70's output still sounds fresh today ...... Good to see he's enjoying a well deserved old age......unlike many of his contemporaries 😪
Try next time to do the background music a bit softer ? Jamaican patois is not as easy to understand for some , especially when it's drowned by background music.....seen ?.......
True, the background music, even though I love it, is too loud, and it's a distraction.
Great interview
He says he's recorded over 300 records, more like 3000 I reckon.
Big up u self my boss real king the route

U Roy and Oliver Samuels look a like🤔
Cool Herc could not play reggae at his parties in the Bronx. His own words.
Too bad you can’t remind him about Craige Town. Especially Clarence Road. 10, Clarence Road. I wonder if he would remember. This was way before the Dreadlocks. Then there was the Battles between King Stitch. Lady it was that way. Every Artis got robbed. But I can say hello man .
Hope this man find peace.
him have itt with the king selassie up deh,

Interviewer asks a bunch of silly questions. Arguably disrespectful to the great U Roy.
