I’ve always had a keen eye for these things and was able to correctly identify the counterfeit both in the video and that one time I was trying to buy some pre-owned ones that were being sold as original. It’s very nice to have a feature to help avoid this though because one little mistake could kinda cost you some bucks…
Thank you for the great video always.
Wow, this is a great feature. I am glad Apple added that to the software. Thanks for sharing this great info! 😊
This video was so helpful. I recently got an AirPods Pro online on sale and was worried about it being fake. But thankfully it isn’t and I got to know through this video.
Thanks for bringing this to light. 👍👍
@idevicehelp Is the software looking at the case or the actual AirPods in the case to determine legitimately? Suggest you swap the AirPods in the cases and retest.
I'm curious, you specified that you have to hold the button on the back....will the message not pop up if you pair the counterfeit ones normally?
Nice, my major fear when I got my airpod pro 1st generation, I end up paying the higher price at an Apple Store even online some many place had it for a lot cheaper
Very nice 👌 useful feature tq bro
Is depth effect working in iPhone XR?
I got this message even though my AirPods are brand new lol. I ordered them with the iPhone 14 and as soon as I booted up it through that message up.
is there a way to turn this feature off? I have fake airpods but they work great and sounds amazing. It would be annoying if i had to keep doing this when I connect my fake airpods
Awesome feature. Hats off to Apple's customer centric approach. This shows they not only care about their products but also about customers.
2 birds with 1 stone I guess 😄
Customer centric?😁😁😁😅🤭
@@asimpleguy9667 if company helps customer to know whether the product he/she is using is genuine or counterfeit, what you would called that approach? Don't laugh, educate me.
Yes, it helps customer, but mostly they’re looking after themselves rather than looking after us tbh. This is another gate to stop the counterfeit market to be able to get away with selling fake units as if they were genuine ones and therefore will increase their own sales (apple’s). Remember; they’re a major company and they’re not doing charity. Every move is well thought out for their own benefit. Still, I’m glad in this case it’ll benefit me too.
@@Jess_Bishop i wanna met u 😂
Hey please can you make a video on why my AirPods aren’t loud anymore? I mean the exact original one on this video.
Hey man, I got a question why only Sherman beach work for spatial audio and not all of them I got the beach flex eur phone from the beach and they don’t work. Can you investigate and let me know how
you gonna fix the problem and get a new update
Thanks a lot
Does this only work for the new AirPods Pro? Or also the original AirPods Pro?
Wow this is just perfect
This is so awesome!!.Especially since my first ever AirPods we’re actually fake and I only found out a bit later!.So this is a awesome feature!.
Thanks so much for your very informative and entertaining videos-Keep up the great and high quality content!.
Wasn’t the audio quality bad ?
@@ailtondevesse4738 So I had never had AirPods before and never used AirPods before so I assumed the fake ones were how AirPods sounded!.Of course with some research I found it was fake!.At least now I actually got real ones!.The real ones sound a lot better,The sound quality of the fake one was probably similar to wired earbuds I guess.
@@RaghavVijay you’ll Defo laugh at this but I just found out that mine are fake as well 😹😹😹😹
@@ailtondevesse4738 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂!!.That is so hilarious!.What are you going to do now?.
@@RaghavVijay well, I was already saving for the Pro Gen 2, so I’ll use this opportunity to buy the proper one 😹
Nice man
I’m glad that I have 2 Air Pods 2. I bought one about 3 years ago and started to acted on me in not paring with my iPhone. I bought another set of them to paired to my iPhone. Even now the 1st and 2nd set both work now. I have them on different set of keys. One pink and the other blue. Of course that I have them in cases.
the verify Airpods feature was such a help! i was with my mom and we were going to buy some Airpods pro off of someone, i opened the airpods box and connected them and the verify airpods screen came on. and that’s how i know they were fake. this helped me so much as my family doesn’t have much money.
How can I get this Beta 3 off of my phone? I’ve had to update 16.0 iOS 5X and finally got to update and 16.1 was ready to update. Now I’m having the same exact problem. I just want to wait for the manufacturer updates. Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?
This is really good.. well done Apple
How to identify counterfeit airpods? Basically if you don’t by them from apple.
The only way I could tell which ones were fake was from the way the case close sounds
Thanks a million for this info!
this is an amazing feature!!!!!
My serial and model number for the case, as well as the model number for the airpods are all correct, and its all good but it still says cannot verify
That’s really nice now am going to buy a AirPod for sure love the iOS 16 update thanks bro
You could tell which where genuine with the snap sound from the lid closing
Not at all lmfao. I have real AirPods Pro’s and fake AirPods Pro’s and the both look and sound the exact same and have the exact same build quality. For 1/4 the price
Wow thanks 🙏
I have issue with my AirPods 3 case... the battery keep draining even i'm not using it.. i charged 100% in the morning and going to 57% at the evening.. not even use it tho... why
Mine were purchased from Apple, but it says cannot verify!
I own AirPods 3rd gen and was able to distinguish real from fake by the looks of the airpod
Nice. At least they’ll let you know now
Can you try it on the AirPods Max?
The counterfeit ones don’t have the CE marking at the stem.
Very interesting. I noticed a seam on the left pair at 0:50 and thought apple would never do that and i war right wow
Great feature.
Does it work on AirPods 1?
I think it’s great especially when people are paying full price not nice been fooled thanks 👏😎🇮🇪
Can this be a bug becuase my airpods prove that they are real even un serial number i model number case model number all even in settings i about section but still pops up like its not genuine
im asking is there any chance that there might be a bug?
0:47 I got it right! The Apple ones has the L and R on the stem. The fake ones looked like they didn’t, when he took them out the case.
I have Razer Hammerhead Pro earbuds. It’s a real genuine pair. After updating to iOS 16, in the Bluetooth settings iOS thinks its a fake pair of AirPods. Warning message reads “These headphones could not be verified as genuine AirPods and may not behave as expected”. Lol 😂
Very weird lol
I’m Hella happy i knew which one was the fake cause I have gen 3 AirPods. The left one was fake cause they were too close together lol
What makes you think they will not be able to copy this when they have copied rest?
I bought mine from apple and this still shows up. What can i do?
the first 1 you release holding the baack button and the second 1 you kept holding it'
you know what i meam?
This is a fantastic feature, even though I've never owned an iPhone and never will due to my entrenched situation with Android. But, I always follow the iPhone world here on YT. It's a super product and the complaints about Apple don't bother me at all. I've owned a Mac for twenty years. Would never own a PC again.
I tried counterfeited airpods to give a try and i was surprised that you can hardly notice any difference in sound quality and noise reduction.
I bought some AirPod Pros (first generation) about a year ago, but they are showing up as not being verified AirPods, but they do have active applecare+ on them, so are they real?
I got 2 pairs of fake air pods one I paired on iOS 15 and the other I paired on iOS 16 and it actually worked
my fake airpods were working PERFECTLY on io 15 but when i updated i got this notice and they keep messing up disconnecting and pausing !!! this was purposely done by apple
Why would you buy fake AirPods?
@@Quayyy463 so buy another earphone instead of trying to fool people that you can afford an AirPod.
@@valdemartraca exactly
Serves you right 😂
That’s what you get for living a lie
Is ur fake airpods can be detect in “find my airpods”?
I wish it worked for the appel.pencil 2 I bought yesterday..turns out it's a fake...
Very happy to see Apple do this. I hate counterfeit products.
Mine are legit but one was replaced and now they say mismatched so now find my dont work
Good to know
You don't have to hold down the button to pair.
This is amazing … if you are planning to buy 2nd hand airpods.
Not the pro buds ?
Some people just buy them cause they don’t want to spend the money, have the money or just want the look
I got a pair of airpods second gen around when they first came out and with the iOS 16 update it's drawing a false positive saying that they're fake even though I bought them directly from Apple and it's too late to do anything about it
yeah mines said the same thing n doesn’t show it anymore tho must be a glitch in ios 16
Is there a release date for iOS 16? Or is there none yet? I wanna use it on my iPad 8 I don’t have an iPhone 14
iOS 16 already out, iPadOS is schedule to release with 16.1
I'm still surprised the counterfeits have done so well to connect to iPhones. And yes, not clones, counterfeit.
i bought mine from the apple store!!! still cannot verify tell us more about that!!!
you can tell by just the sound quality.
if you can’t tell them apart like that then you don’t deserve airpods.
I 100% understand why those who chose to purchase and use fake AirPods would be upset by this. It’s Apples way of locking the eco system. However being fooled into buying fake AirPods for the same price as legit AirPods I imagine would be detrimental to the buyer. I’m pretty new to Apple and I support the move they made here.
IMO there's nothing for people to get upset about since it's only a nag screen. People can still connect their fake AirPods to their device.
@@ibe966 so u agree buy the fake one?😂😂
@@chatheaven-discordserver5610
Nope! No way...
I'd never buy fake ones as it usually means inferior quality and they will most likely have other usability problems. It's better to buy original even though they cost more. You get what you pay for...
My original comment was made because the reviewer and commenter above said that people would get upset when trying to connect fake Airpods. I don't agree with that statement since you _can_ connect them albeit with a nag screen. And again, you get what you pay for...
le clone manufacturers: lets bypass this and release a new clone🤣🤣
Got a counterfeit AirPods Pro which is confirmed by Apple Store Genius. When I try to re-connect it to a 13 pro max running IOS 16.0, no such message that is mentioned in the video shows up. Looks like I have an pair of almost identical yet fake AirPods😢
Mines are original but they guve me that error
yooo mine original i bought it cheap like 50$ like that and it can verify 😮😮
My fake ones actually started working better post iOS 16 update. I was expecting the message but now this doesn’t come up instead works better and can be controlled via Apple Watch as well 😂
samee
Plot twist what if yours aren’t fake?
where did you get your fake ones from? im looking to buy some
Hey! What’s your brand of headphones?
@@l_uminousss I’m selling some
You can’t tell, unless through a performance
I bought from apple store everything verified via apple website but on ios 16 show me fake why ? Can anybody guide
I would’ve appreciated this an iOS version earlier! I got scammed :(
You can’t tell, unless through performance
I have a clone AirPod Pro, which I brought for like $15. I was glad to see this message pop up because previously it didn't. However, my AirPod looks the same as Apple Airpod but not all fake, because it has its own brand printed on the case. And it still sounds amazing af and I can even track it with Find My.
Well if it’s indistinguishable from the real AirPods then it is a fake
@@paris8135 it's not indistinguishable, because as I said, it has it's own brand printed on the case.
@@smith4591 Their still a fake, it’s clear what their trying to imitate. The only difference is a logo, so unless you see that it’ll look like real AirPods. It’s a fake.
@@RastisAlexander that’s not how that works. Technically it’s an imitation separate headset. To be fake they would need to brand it as AirPods Pro and market it as a genuine pair, which it does not. Looks like it, acts like it, but clearly states it is not it. The commentator is right. Not fake but a cheap brand that imitated the style and functions of a real one.
@@RastisAlexander it’s not a fake if it’s distinguishable from the real thing, it’s a clone then
Perfect perfect
I would mention that many of the reputable seller of AirPod knock-off have already updated there AirPods to bypass this screen.
Great for people who wants to avoid fakes, terrible for people who purposely want them
My real AirPods Pro had that message come up when they first paired
Mine are original and my phone show me that I don’t know what to do, I checked their serial number and apple confirmed that they’re not fake
I have an iPhone 12 Pro and 2nd gen AirPods but I can’t find any spatial audio section. Is this not available with what I have?
there is no spatial audio on airpods gen 2
its only available with the pro & gen 3 and above
@@peshwarSAS Ty, much obliged.✌🏻
iOS 16 is a game changer.
My Fake Airpods work better than my AirPods 3rd gen for battery life. Should I not update? Will they not work well? My gen 1 real airpods are a dud.
Apple: what peasantry is this?!
Well done apple ❤❤
Tnx. I have an iPhone 8 version 13.7. Do you recommend updating version 16? Please I would appreciate an answer
Of course man😂
It has great features you that right
You're missing a lot
Only if you don’t care about jailbreaking, iOS 13 is a dime a dozen to find despite not being an EOL version.

Thank you,
Nice
Wow! That’s awesome! I can’t wait to setup my brand new pair of airpods. I accidentally lost the left one and haven’t been able to find it so I decided to get myself a brand new pair. 🙂
But what if someone takes a real case of AirPods and switch only the headphones inside to a fake one
I knew it when I hear the lid closing…😅
Does this affect earbuds by other companies like Raycon or Oraimo?
Yeah
Looks like it'll say your perfectly LEGAL ones will be reported as FAKE Airpods which they're not, they're not Airpods and they're not fake !
@@D_Max2998 No
Chinese counterfeit producers thanking you because they now have something to upgrade lol
Daym it didn’t show up for me until I forget it and reconnect it. Wish I didn’t cuz now they look fake 😆
Message didn’t show up so I thought mine might be og smh and I erased to check that 🤣
left pair is missing an R.
How did I guess that right I was like left Is fake and you said the right is the real one
If I’m going to buy anything Apple I definitely go straight to the Apple store online or actual Apple stores❗️
