General Petraeus predicts Iran's downfall

- "Iran has a lot of capability if it chooses to employ it. If it does, it's going to lose in the end."
Iran will be "taking some deep breaths right now" as they await the US response to their strikes on the US military base near the Syria-Jordan border, says former CIA director General David Petraeus.

Petraeus did not predict the downfall of the US occupation of Iraq, though. John Bolton predicted the downfall of Iran in 2019, 2020 and 2021
Maybe he'll b to be proven correct 3 times in due course. I know of a regime that has been predicting the fall of Taiwan for many. many years. YOU need to educate yourself and get a proper perspective of worl events.
@@holboromanyes I remember the scholars in the US that predicted the fall of Chinese nation every year since twenty years ago, and they renew the forecast postpone it twenty times.
Always predict as false prophets do.
Anyone who was on the ground in Afghanistan and Iraq knew it was doomed from 2004 on, only politicians, generals, and civilians didn't see it coming.
He is still furious , like the CIA are, for getting kicked out of Iran when it nationalised its’ own oil under Mossadek and the Shah Shambles.

Well Russia is losing. 😂 Just not who we think they are losing to. 😂 They'll easily be absorbed by China. 😂😂😂
Every time these guys talk about it they put in "brutal and unprovoked" almost like they're trying to convince us.
Funny isn't it. Like how the Western media constantly had to say "the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine" every time they mentioned it, but not once did they ever say "the unprovoked American invasion of Iraq".
Ai muppet
The next superpower is the internet. It’s what you get out of it! 1000 will talk maybe one will be right.
Because they are trying to convince us of the nonsense they are spewing out. US cannot deal with Houthis never mind Hezbollah or Iran!
Only idiots still fall for the trick.
Petraeus also predicted Taliban downfall and look how that went.
They can have Afghanistan the people there obviously wanted them in charge. Now they can deal with the strict enforcement of the Koran. The US was not planning on making Afghanistan a State Of the US.
This is more about threatening than predicting
I doubt Petraeus took into account Trump releasing Taliban prisoners and then inviting them to Camp David to negotiate without a representative from the Afghan government?
This is different. The Taliban is a single terror group that sort of runs a country, Iran's govt is trying hold a diverse nation together and is themselves susceptible to domestic revolts. They're a lot more fragile than the Taliban.
Taliban surrendered 4 times. Everytime Bush refused because he wanted to defeat them on the battleground, so the rich could get richer.
The safest thing to do with anything Patraeus says is to immediately believe the exact opposite will be the outcome. It's incredible that anyone stills listens.
That's not true. These are educated guesses. Education-something you missed .

Yeah i can smell it a mile off. Most people can see what's coming and you don't need to be a general to see it.
Petraeus is the US's Spock. He's still in the loop, he's always on call.
World wars do not catch us by surprise. Before WW1 the probability of war - not just the possibility - was widely discussed. Before WW2 rearmament, including in the UK, was running at full pace. WW3 is now, slowly but surely, being contemplated by more and more of the world's influential people. We don't know how the dominoes could fall next - conflict with Iran might be the spark.
WW1 happened as Germany arose as superpower challenging the old powers (UK, US, Russia) people saw war coming from long way and they embraced it with eagerness (not knowning what modern war would look like). I think the situation is bit similar, we see war is coming the different is that the populations DO NOT want it. Lets see how these ev il fkcs like patreus here trick us into war.
I'll go with a lot of that. It's often said that WW2 was caused by the failure of the Treaty of Versailles to provide a solution the German people could live with. I see the point but think it's only part of the story. The main problem is that fascism prospers in difficult times as mass psychology reacts to hardship and political instability. I'd say that the war in Ukraine is a consequence of the Russian failure to move past WW2(Russian sacrifice etc. was a vital part of Soviet propaganda intended to keep the masses quiet) and the subsequent failure of glasnost. Putin was also greatly encouraged by Trump's reckless abandonment of Afghanistan which sent a clear message of non-engagement. I don't see any culpability on the part of American generals. If you want aggressive military types have a conversation with Croatian military officers, as I had on one occasion, and walk away with grey hair. American military commanders are really quite mild.@@harukrentz435

I'm not advocating for more war, but we certainly didn't lose the Gulf War in the 90's.

@@Quidisi
The Gulf war ??? What did you win ????
You thought Iraq was bad……wait until you see what happens when you take on Iran !!! Absolute lunacy !!!
Exaggerating and conflating much ?
Because of several key differences, like most of those wars being ones we needlessly inserted ourselves into & then just let the capitalist overlord machine gorge itself. But when the US concentrates force, like the first Gulf or Serbia, or when our normally divided and disinterested populace gets provoked into uniting because someone wants to FAFO - then we go super Saiyan and remind everyone why we don't have free healthcare like, "weeee look we have the world's largest air force!" then, "heyyy we also have the world's second largest air force...and it's got its own boats! Murica!"
But yeah if Iran wants to tango, the UN security council including both Russia and China has given green lights to US and UK regarding Middle East ops so far and given the size of the economy and the world using the fk out of our exports, will likely do so again
