  • "Iran has a lot of capability if it chooses to employ it. If it does, it's going to lose in the end."
    Iran will be "taking some deep breaths right now" as they await the US response to their strikes on the US military base near the Syria-Jordan border, says former CIA director General David Petraeus.

    World wars do not catch us by surprise. Before WW1 the probability of war - not just the possibility - was widely discussed. Before WW2 rearmament, including in the UK, was running at full pace. WW3 is now, slowly but surely, being contemplated by more and more of the world's influential people. We don't know how the dominoes could fall next - conflict with Iran might be the spark.

    • @harukrentz435
      @harukrentz435 3 месяца назад

      WW1 happened as Germany arose as superpower challenging the old powers (UK, US, Russia) people saw war coming from long way and they embraced it with eagerness (not knowning what modern war would look like). I think the situation is bit similar, we see war is coming the different is that the populations DO NOT want it. Lets see how these ev il fkcs like patreus here trick us into war.

    • @alanwhiplington5504
      @alanwhiplington5504 3 месяца назад

      I'll go with a lot of that. It's often said that WW2 was caused by the failure of the Treaty of Versailles to provide a solution the German people could live with. I see the point but think it's only part of the story. The main problem is that fascism prospers in difficult times as mass psychology reacts to hardship and political instability. I'd say that the war in Ukraine is a consequence of the Russian failure to move past WW2(Russian sacrifice etc. was a vital part of Soviet propaganda intended to keep the masses quiet) and the subsequent failure of glasnost. Putin was also greatly encouraged by Trump's reckless abandonment of Afghanistan which sent a clear message of non-engagement. I don't see any culpability on the part of American generals. If you want aggressive military types have a conversation with Croatian military officers, as I had on one occasion, and walk away with grey hair. American military commanders are really quite mild.@@harukrentz435

      Because of several key differences, like most of those wars being ones we needlessly inserted ourselves into & then just let the capitalist overlord machine gorge itself. But when the US concentrates force, like the first Gulf or Serbia, or when our normally divided and disinterested populace gets provoked into uniting because someone wants to FAFO - then we go super Saiyan and remind everyone why we don't have free healthcare like, "weeee look we have the world's largest air force!" then, "heyyy we also have the world's second largest air force...and it's got its own boats! Murica!"
      But yeah if Iran wants to tango, the UN security council including both Russia and China has given green lights to US and UK regarding Middle East ops so far and given the size of the economy and the world using the fk out of our exports, will likely do so again

      There will be no worldwide peace until Jesus Christ sets up His long prophecized Kingdom of Earth shortly after His physical return.

    All countries since WWII have actually be cutting back on military, only the US and Russia have stayed high, China has boosted up. Nations that had nothing during WWII have grown a little. The countries termed as the ' western ' nations are in reality not up to par for an open conflict due to over de-escalating their military.

      Umm, before war in Ukraine, the entire world spent $1.92 trillion on defense.
      NATO spent $1.1 trillion of that, and America alone spent about $800 billion (about 45% of world total)
      Iran has a GDP half America's military budget. LOL
      Which means the not-American NATO countries spend about the same as Iran's GDP.
      Russia was only spending $60 billion.....
      And the extra cost of this war, is wrecking them economically.

    So the general who was wrong about Afghanistan and wrong about Ukraine ( i really loved his the Ukrainians will be in Melitopol within days statement) is making predictions about Iran... forgive if I am just a wee bit skeptical
