People call me a weeb when I say I'm taking Japanese lessons. And no it's not so I can watch anime. It's so I can play all the Monster Hunter games I missed out on.
Can I just point out how genius Kuarusepusu's head and jaw are designed? The hardened tip or "nose" helps it break through the rock when it digs and the outer teeth of the lower jaw are so long because they protect the mouth from the hard rock when digging at higher speeds. This is one of the few monsters where the outer teeth actually have a point. Take notes, Glavenus!
If it makes you feel any better, Glavenus’s side plates are whetstones that help him sharpen his tail, and the front plates are spikes for doing exactly what you’d think they’d do.
I know I the 3rd person saying this, but the obsidian mask on Glavenus’ head is to protect it from the debris and sparks that occur when sharpening their tail. I do agree that the obsidian canines are a bit… much, though. They should be smaller.

World is a more approachable title while Frontier forces and challenges veterans to a whole new level of difficulty. I can't possibly imagine a newcomer World player playing Frontier, can happen but I'll bet that they'll have a hard time getting into what frontier offers.
How's that possible? Tri came 2 years before Forward 4. Both leviathans and brute wyverns got into frontier based on what we got in Tri, not the other way around.

However Capcom may have revisited the old design and repurposed it into a brand new monster. Its like how they initially scrapped a hydra like design for a monster but revisited it years later and we have Nakarkos. I could be talking out of my ass but this is the only way I see Capcom doing it.
@@gaara6292 Those ones are sub-species. Deviants are monsters who have had encounters with hunters yet survive. As a result, their powers are much stronger and they may have permanent injuries (for example, Soulseer Mizutsune is blind and can utilize flame bubbles).

This sounds good, but Im wondering. Why doesn't Capcom just slap together a bunch of monsters from every generation into one game including the frontier series adding it onto the main and including that subspecies system they had in MH3U (unless that was also in other games). Of course there would also need to be extra weapon classes, I doubt they are running out of creative weapons people want to use. As I recall there were at least 2 new ones in MH4 for the 3ds that I thought looked promising. Not hard to expand.
This is a big problem because Japan has already experienced all that content, and that is MH's primary market, Japan doesn't want repackaged content that they can already play, they want new stuff.
BemaniAK Well they might be able to eventually. Capcom has been noticing the fan base in the West, and if it grows enough and the fanbase really pushes for it, they might consider doing such a game. However, if they do this I believe they will need to put the game on a console since that would be way too many monsters, weapons and armor to fit on a 3DS cartridge. I would see it on the PS4 or XBOXOne.

you're not missing out on much, the game is a real let down, each new monsters is just a re-hash on an old one, and once you get passed HR 9 everyone will just abuse the fuck out of the tonfas and the dual blades and kill the monster in under 5 minutes without it being able to get a single attack off. The main series is way better, trust me.
For me, this is THE MHFrontier theme, idk why, I just think it perfectly encapsulates the essence of Frontier and what makes it different from mainline MH
It is much more then a thunder element monster & therefore It can do more then lagia. It has a crystal/light beam it shoots from its mouth that lasts several seconds, a flash attack like gobuls, can dig under ground, release crystal shards that explode, tail smacks that cause tremors if you lack tremor resistance Etc.If you actually take the time to fight it or watch a video of someone fighting it you can see its in very little ways similiar even if they share the same Leviathan characteristics.
and Yes you are wrong just try to read in the monster hunter forum and there you will see everything you whant to know (Monster Hunter 4 will be released in March 2013)
I'd like to correct a few people here and note that its possible to play this game outside of Japan however if anyone wishes to play it they'll need 2 necessary thing: money and an understanding of the game or Japanese language. either memorize what is what through visual images and not require any need of learning Japanese or go take Japanese classes. your pick.

You can play all the way up to HR100 for free i paid a very small amount for a whole month of play and i used a translator on my phone that could snap pics and translate granted it was rough and i know what some japanese means, also ive played mh so much i was able to feel my way through the game with the items n stuff.

Honestly every MH game should have the level of difficulty that Frontier had. MH Rise cERTAINLY could use this level of difficulty, the amount of health carry in Rise is pathetically op and we need more difficulty monsters to balance it out 🙄
Frontier's difficulty was only achievable due to it being a live service game. Expecting the same level of difficulty from rise is borderline stupid. Base games should never be a challenge to a veteran of the series who's somewhat decent at the game barring an enhanced monster state.

Monster Hunter Online is being developed by a company called Tencent. They're infamous for filling their games with Pay to Win content. This could be the exception, but there's no guarantee there.

Let's not get people's hopes up just yet. Capcom has yet to officially announce any release of MH4 outside of Japan. They have hinted that they might but it will probably depend heavily on the success of Tri Ultimate (which they are hoping will be the game that will finally win over western audiences beyond the cult following the series currently has).

Glavenus’s head is designed to sharpen his tail. The fangs are what grind away at it and sharpen it. The excess parts are essentially a mouth guard

Its coming out in summer 2013 in Japan, there is no official release date otherwise.

and this is why most people have never heard of monster hunter. capcom really needs to bring monster hunter here to the west, when monster hunter 4 came out capcom was poor, and now that they have money they should bring it over here

Monster Hunter Online is being developed by a company called Tencent. They're infamous for filling their games with Pay to Win content. This could be the exception, but there's no guarantee there.

me three... I just got Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, it's still the game as tri except that we have the BOW AGAIN :D and ofcourse the gunlance, and some new monsters. but Frontier released new monsters every new episode WITH it's own theme.... Capcom give me updated music plz ):

Let's not get people's hopes up just yet. Capcom has yet to officially announce any release of MH4 outside of Japan. They have hinted that they might but it will probably depend heavily on the success of Tri Ultimate (which they are hoping will be the game that will finally win over western audiences beyond the cult following the series currently has).
