In Lagos State, Victoria Island (VI) and other parts of the Lagos Island are the high-end parts of Lagos. Actually, the Lagos Island houses some of the most expensive communities and real estates around the World. Meanwhile, the mainland of Lagos is the hotbed of the real Lagos energy.
In many societies and communities in the Southern part of Nigeria, most especially among the Yoruba people, pounded yam is regarded as the King of all foods.

Food plays such a big part in Maori/Aboriginal culture.. wherever there are people coming together, there is food.. even our cultural myths and legends in some way or another are connected to our food.. the decisions make in our home and likewise the big anouncements and family issues, events and meetings all happen, you guessed it, in the kitchen.. it is the focal place in our home.. ❤ I really felt it when Miss World Africa said she was emotional eating the food because im exactly the same, ive always had an emotional connnection to my food, it is much more than it tasting good and filling my belly.. it connects me to memories and links me to my heritage.. ❤ ive cried many times in this way..

    Nice video.
Nigeria is a large country with multi diverse cultures and the music, food, etc vary greatly though one or two similarities in some. The Southern part is known for their amala, ewedu with orishirishi( Lagos being the largest city in the Southern part has the mainland and island, the island is a cool and serene area with lots of "the high and mighty individuals" while the mainland is where the bustle and hustle of Lagos life takes place, where you see anyhow if you do anyhow.
The Northern part of Nigerian is known for their tuwo Masara, chinkafa, etc with large cities like Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Jos.
The Southeast is the hub of delicacies where you see lots of lots of food like ofe nsala(white soup), ofe ora, onugbu(bitter leaf), ukwa(breadfruit) okpa(bambara), agbugbu, akidi(blackbeans), abacha(African salad) to mention but a few with big cites like Enugu, Aba, Onitsha, Owerri, etc.
Just be prepared to get the whole experience bc knowing one part of. Nigeria is never knowing Nigeria

From my observation there are very many similarities between African Americans and Nigerians. For one thing both peoples know how to make their presence felt no matter where y'all are. It may come across as loud and flashy but y'all definitely turn up as the life of the party and leave an impression. It's all love though 💕
