- ‣ Here's my wash day routine for dry 4C natural hair (TWA) - includes how to cleanse, deep condition, finger detangle and steam your 4C natural hair.
My wash day routine used to take hours - I mean 6+ hours. But I've created this short and simple wash day routine, so now it take me 3 hours max. My wash routine includes pre-pooing, cleaning, deep conditioning, detangling, steaming and styling. ALL IN 3 HOURS!

+Naakie Nartey: I, personally, do not understand why 4C girls aim for waist-length and whatnot. Not to say it can't be done, but who wants to bother? It's so ridiculously labor intensive. Why is short hair so hated on? I love it. By the way, why did you big chop twice?

Your videos give me hope! I literally cried this morning because I can't get my daughters hair to grow no matter what I use its so dry and short idk what to do with it. I've been trying to find styles and couldn't! I decided to stop everything and leave her natural but I felt it was too short to style AND she's rough so I cant just leave it. Thank you for your Vids.

How do y'all's hair stay that length when wet? I have that spiritual shrinkage so my hair disappears. I wanted to see how you kept it stretched without twists but we don't have the same shrinkage problem so you didn't have to😩😩😩

I have to use a hair pick to "pull" my hair up at this point. It helps me, but I don't know if it will for other people...
I have the same hair type 4c and everything!!! The funny thing is I am more 4c in the front but the back is more looser like 4b 4a so it’s hard to really get a good coil curl in the back

I just did a big chop 4 months ago. I'm now trying to get my hair to stay moisturized doing the winter. I have a curl defining video on my page and definitely was trying to figure out how to keep it moisturized. I will try your method on wash day!
Hey naakie I have very similar hair to yours and due to damage on my hair I big chopped again recently , I love the ideas on wash day , my hair is too short for a twist out , do you have any ideas or recommendations for a wash n go to keep my curls defined without making them hard with gels ? Thats so cool. Im a 4c girl too and we use the same exact products. I just wish i could find a better shampoo that defines my hair..lately different ones i have tried make it frizzy
Have you tried using bentonite clay? Granted its more of a clarifying mask than a shampoo - but it definitely gives definition.

Good video...but from start to finish how long did this actually take. Starting with the time of taking down the twist out to the time it was fully dry because time is my issue all my life.

I suggest not ceiling the deep conditioner with cold water because when you’re doing the LCO method or the LOC method or just any kind of Moisturizing you won’t be able to get anything in your hair which will cause buildup
I wanna adopt this routine but I’m curious as to what is the exact purpose for prepooing? Because I usually just wash deep condition and mosturize

Great video. You can also use pure Aloe Vera Juice to close your cuticles. I have started back using my steamer to deep condition as well, however, I will be looking to purchase a Pibb hooded hair dryer to deep condition as well as use it to dry my hair. @Naakie Nartey, how long have you been natural?
Def let me know how the dryer works! I've been natural since 20011. But I big chopped for the second time in March of this year.
I have been deep conditioning my hair twice a week. I use a shampoo every Saturday and do a co-wash on Wednesdays. I love using the Aussie Moist 3x Moisture Deep Conditioner and I spay a henna with other herbs tea rinse on my hair prior to adding my conditioner and sit under my steamer for about 20 to 25 minutes. I rinse with cold water and my hair comes out beautifully when I do two strand twists. Sometimes, I add rollers to my twists for extra curls. My hair has been coming out very shiny and beautiful.

Guys! I just washed my hair using this method, it word so well and I'm so happy. My hair feels so moisturized, my hair doesn't really grow because once when I was younger I accidentally cut my hair while taking out my box braids. My hair was so long but, let's be honest, I was like 6. I think my hair was damaged and it was probably because of heat damage (I always used a lot of flat irons and curling irons etc.) Now me and my mom are working to grow my hair healthy and for it to actually start growing.✌🏽❤️❤️

I cut my hair for the 4th time because it was so thick and I didn't want to deal with it. My hair is 4c btw but watching this video is making me miss my curls and my thick texture i just have to learn how to except the fact that I'm a thick curly girl.

It’s probably because of different porosity.
Have you tried a coconut oil spray? It’s very light and easy to apply, I hate coconut oil also but it seems to work fine if I use a spray or liquid-y oil instead of the clumps of coconut oil
