Repetition is the key to mesmerization. How can anyone not go pleasantly catatonic listening to (and watching) this. It was one of the great justices of the world that the Cabs never really achieved commercial success; they'd've been ruined.
@@timrussell3913 yeah goodnight LA on ABC would play more off the wall videos. friday night videos on NBC were a bit more mainstream. cabaret voltaire did another one where they kept repeating "crackdown". thanks for bringing me back here. i'd forgotten i'd commented on it 2 years ago.
Saw Stephen Malinder do a gig at Revolver Melbourne about ten years ago. He used a synth/sequencer hardware beatbox and played some ambient vinyl too. Brilliant.

I remeber a show on MTV, aired Sat or Sun(not 120minutes) in 85 that showed "alternative" stuff, saw this video and probably stole the money to buy the album the next day-can't remember doing things right. I know this steered me towards Skinny Puppy.
Cabaret Voltaire are probably the most misunderstood of the Sheffield/Yorkshire/Northern England electro pioneers. They had their dark moments.... But! This is dance floor "machine funk" with great drum and bass hooks.
always the same track sensoria, thank you america, kino...you name it. i love CV, but they basicly did the same track over and over again between 1983 - 1987
Well, i must comment on that, this perticular song by CV is somewhat towards eltctro/EBM, but just slight =) But i agree CV is was/is general absolutely industrial....
I have a 4-year-old hellion who would destroy records in a flash. Curious and carefree boy, I believe a record player would mystify him and he'd attempt to dissect it.
Pr0nography. This is a proustian madeleine of a song that gives me an acetone washed coke drip. Got the video confused with Sensoria for years. Don't make good music like this anymore except in Japan or Texas. Ok, Feindflug are cool, too.
grande group un saluto a tutti i fan dei cure ma quelli veri per capire faith, pornography.boys don,t cry seventeen seconds e segnalo un bel disco dei cabaret voltaire the voice of america ciao ciao
Double Vision Presents is on DVD. Mute is working on a new DVD of Johnny Yesno, but.... ehhh... it's gong to be a new version, new footage, new soundtrack from RHK solo... Inexplicable.

totally brings back memories of getting high and watching videos on friday nights in the 80s
I remember watching this on Goodnight LA REALLY high... It took seemingly FOREVER for them to descend those stairs!

Seeing this on Night Flight back in the day was my 1st introduction to this band...I then proceeded to buy every release I could get my hands on.

I bought Drinking Gasoline' many years ago. Still transcendent.
still sounds so fresh, modern
THIS TRACK IN 1985 IS PURE VANGUARD !!!
too good to be popular
Still powerful after all these years. I had this on vinyl. 2 discs, four tracks; mind blowing.
3 decades ago I heard this on WBCN’s Nocturnal Emissions and wondered what it was. Thank you for making this. (and to Oedipus!)
Brilliant edgy song, love the Juno-60 arpeggiated synth! Very hard song to find for years, people tried to steal it from me...
I'm dating myself. But I still have the VHS tape of this Video Album.
I have the album... wish I could get on CD
Uh, would you be willing to sell?
I'd date myself if I could....but it's illegal where I live.
but would you sleep in the wet spot? Would you respect yourself in the morning? @@john-clayknight4885
that's awesome!
I really want the "Gasoline In Your Eye" tape to be re-released on DVD... I had the VHS back in the days, but would love to have it digitally!
Great beat, so funky. Love his voice.
I used to torture my parents with this EP. Still love it to death.
R.I.P., Richard H. Kirk :-(

Jason Andreoli it was Night Flight on USA network. I had the same experoence.
@@jeeed6390 My 1st exposure to them as well. Nothing sounded like this at the time.
Geezus! A trip down memory lane... A CLASSIC!
Amazing song. Kino is also cinema in Polish language. R.I.P Richard H. Kirk.
ich liebe Cabaret Voltaire, es ist eine der geilsten Bands ever
outstanding insight we kept this band from the media
Instagram : "we just want people to watch everything and nothing"
Cabaret Voltaire "Hold my pint "
I dont recall this tape from any of the John Peel radio progs but I liiike it thanks a mill Neckro23
a friend of mine reckons they went downhill after they figured out how to program their drum machines
the more i've learend about my instruments, the more i want earlier versions of myself back
a Cavaret Voltaire release perfect new beat!!! brilliant
Heard this randomly on the UofO radio station and had never heard them before. Great track!
been collecting since the mid 90's. but shit like this was almost impossible to get hold of. great YT now has so many of their vids. cheers!!
le tout premier track de CV que j'ai écouté
The ONLY other Band that could've out-krafted KRAFTWERK.
Not really both bands are in a league of their own.Kraftwerk is like fine expensive premium aged Brandy & CV are like cocaine.
@@traecy43 I think they both operate at different levels. Both very intricate & provocative electronic artists
I still have this on VHS... from new!
I love his music!
TIMELESS!
This is basically the first incarnation of Sensoria. Sounds really good though.
Quinoa Quinoa
I bought a mini album by them , this was the stand out track .
Terrific
Total vanguard !
14 assholes out of over a thousand.....not bad. Love you CAB VOLTAIRE!!! Awesome as always.

Dedo arriba quien haya descubierto este grupo, gracias al youtuber Music Radar Clan.

Grosses Kino.
This song is from the "Drinking Gasoline" album.
Aren't we a good ten to fifteen years overdue for a decent DVD remaster of this already?
always loved Sensoria but never went any deeper than that. Looks like I've been missing out.....must investigate some more.
I recently started work with someone named "KINO".
Tell him to move it!
love and devotion

Precisely.
I think if this would be an instrumental version, I would love it more. Good rhythms. Good sound.
Awesome
