    The outbound lights are fully contained but they ALSO can run with an external cable and battery. So if you have the light on full blast and the battery dies, you can plug in a battery pack through the usb-c port and keep riding!

      Hey. I’ve literally been pronouncing it wrong for years until I listened to a podcast last week, in which I also learned Kuat is not pronounced Kwaht. The bike world is filled with difficult to pronounce brand names. Still not sure on Fizik.

    Looked like an amazing event with awesome riding and meeting cool people.
    I still have a soft spot for Thomson stuff. Sadly, once I started using a dropper I moved away from their seatpost and stems. But for nearly 20 years straight all of my bikes had a Thomson seatpost and stem. At times I had 3 or 4 bikes. Even my road bike had a Thomson combo. And those rigs on show there were sick! Had me drooling big time.
    Never heard of Boone, but wow. Can't wait to learn more about them. Those cranks look amazing, and titanium in the works... yes please.

    Looks like a great event! I have the Outbound Lighting Hangover light and it is very high quality. One cool feature is that it allows for pass thru charging while you are using the light via the usb cable and a cell phone charging battery, which is nice if you plan to spend 2+ hours riding at night or if you need to run the light on the full power setting.

  • @SprSonik13

    Outbound Lights are amazing. I’ve completely ditched 8k lumens of NR stuff and exclusively use OB lights. Their service is INSANELY GOOD, and the lights are even better. I use mine twice a week every week and usually run just my Evo for most of my ride, only kicking up the power and turning on the Hangover for ripping really fast/tech stuff.

    Unfortunately the Thomson frame is outsourced, though I'm sure it's nice quality, but nonetheless it would be cool if it was made in Macon as there aren't a lot of bike manufacturers in the southeast...also kinda surprised it has a 150mm fork with a 66.5 degree HT angle and only fits up to 27.5 x 2.4" tires.

    Goretex is pretty useless for shoes in a really wet country. Once the water runs down into your shoes it stays there. After a few hours it always gets in. I was once told by a major UK company that parts of New Zealand didn't buy Goretex for that reason. I was a welsh river surveyor for over a decade; used leather, it dries on your feet.

    • @hardtailparty
      @hardtailparty  3 года назад +1

      If you're running waterproof pants over the cuff of your shoe, that shouldn't be an issue, right? I assume most people riding in the wet have waterproof pants too.

    • @jeremyatkinson4976
      @jeremyatkinson4976 3 года назад +1

      @@hardtailparty Well I used to set up two day offroad Endurance events in Wales and virtually nobody wore them, even though they were a kit requirement, unless it was driving rain. Basically when you are riding, even in a welsh spring or autumn the movement of your legs keeps them warm [er until you bonk and get hyperthermia]. The events were 7 hours saturday 5 on sunday with a wild camp, so you carried your tent and food and had a partner for safety. I can't see how you could easily seal the waterproofs at the ankles, most of the water comes off the front wheel upwards from very wet ground. We were given sealskins by the manufacturer one year and they were great at turning feet into prunes. The savvy used to wrap their feet in flimsy plastic bags taped over ordinary socks and change them at night. Absolutely nothing worked 100%.
      One year IMBA came over and advised us not to ride in the wet. We were much amused.
