Maybe. But as Tom Rogers pointed out, with a GOP Speaker the House can cause a lot of mischief for the certification by not relinquishing the majority before the electoral count is certified. I would not trust Mike Johnson when honest government is on the line. Electoral Count Act now requires much higher numbers to object to certificates. The VP's roll was "clarified" in a sort of Electoral Count Act for Dummies. There are more anarchist groups clinging to the right than cling to the left (FBI and Anti Defamation League lists of extremist groups). If a contested election with current Congressional makeup, in theory it is possible the House elects a Republican President and the Senate elects a Democrat Vice President.

In response, he falsely claimed that the Yankees invited him to throw out the first pitch. His lie was roundly refuted a short time later. The incident recalls Trump’s false boast that the crowd attending his 2017 inaugural address was the largest in history. Objective photographic evidence decisively refuted that lie.
And yet Trump never pulls back on blatantly false statements - lies that are so obvious that they often defy the laws of physics, chemistry and common sense.
The key to Trump’s psychology is that he moves through life as “the episodic man.” For Trump, each day is a temporary moment of time. Psychological research shows that nearly all adults develop stories in their minds about their own lives.
These stories - what psychologists call “narrative identities” - reconstruct the past and imagine the future. As you make daily decisions, you implicitly remember how you have come to be who you are, and you anticipate where your life may be going. You live within narrative time.
But the episodic man does not live that way. Instead, he immerses himself in the angry, combative moment, striving desperately to win the moment. But the episodes do not add up. They do not form a narrative arc. In Trump’s case, it is as if he wakes up each morning nearly oblivious to what happened the day before. What he said and did yesterday, in order to win yesterday, no longer matters to him. And what he will do today, in order to win today, will not matter for tomorrow.
What is truth for the episodic man? Truth is whatever works to win the moment.
For most people, and every other president in the history of the US, an episodic life would be unsustainable in the long run. There is a primal authenticity in Trump. He tells you exactly what he feels in the moment. He lies straight to your face, without shame, without any concern for future consequences. It is the stark audacity of untruth.

How did Trump destroy trust in the electoral system? He didn't do anything that hasn't been done previously by Hillary Clinton or Stacey Abrams or Al Gore. All of them had alternate electoral college nominees in the wings in case their legal challenges went through.

Because most Americans know Jan 6 was not an insurrection. It was concerned citizens protesting and making their voices heard that there was very suspicious things happening with the vote. Like mail in voting being untested in a major election and laws being changed right before the election to accept votes that weren't dated and had no signatures and having the vote certified before these questions could even be explored.

I think we need real constitution and legal experts to be laying the groundwork now concerning how we prove the next election will be safe and fair. T will pull the exact same refusal to accept the outcome WHEN he loses again.
How much more proof do you need than the last one? There wasn't one bit of evidence that any significant fraud took place. There were paper ballots for every vote and numerous recounts of those votes in swing states.
The only possibility I can see is to take a system we have in the UK of having a Public Inquiry. It is similar to a court case but any interested party can make a submission or bring evidence and the objective is to find the truth. They're often held after major disasters or in planning applications that have a huge impact such as a major extension of an airport.
