This is so helpful!
I've been thinking about doing a subscription box for years! I even have a name and logo, all ready to go. Thanks for posting this now, Lisa. It seems less daunting now then it did a few years ago :)
Perfect video at the perfect time. I just started researching this last night! Thank you!!!
Just a note on vendors: Not all businesses advertise that they sell wholesale. Some small businesses can be negotiated with. I have negotiated wholesale prices for several small businesses. In addition, some of the bundles, sales and rebranding promotions can also work in your favor. Ive puchased an end of season ( non-perishable item) inventory surplus at 1/5 of the original cost. The vendor then turned around and gifted me some of her following seasons items later due to our business relationship. Whats impactful is deciding what your total box or per item cost should be. It can help you with knowing what your cap is on cost of goods.
Thank you for the tips
Yes I love this and looking to start one and this is right on time .
Thanks! I'm starting a beverage box full of divine coffees, gourmet hot chocolate, teas etc. Would love to send you the firt one if you'll review it?
Thank for this video. Your very informative and Friendly to watch. 😄
great video. valuable info. thanks so much !
Glad it was helpful!
I want to add subscription services to my cosmetics business so this was super helpful! And do you have a podcast? I see the mic so I hope you do!
Hey there: You should totally do it - that sounds like a great product idea for a subscription box. As for podcasts - I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to them - omg, they're so boring. haha. So I'd never torture anyone with creating one. lol. XO Lisa
I love your channel so glad i came upon it. Can you try self-y box subscription box
Hi Sohela: So glad you found this channel! Yes, I'll look into it. XO lisa
Do you offer personal services to show how to do this?
great info, is the wholesale list for Canada or USA?
Hi Michelle: Everything I recommend is for the US only - I'm just not familiar enough with other countries to be able to recommend anything. XO Lisa
Hello, can you explain to me the difference between the box business and the traditional sales business (in dropshipping or in stock).
What I mean is that I still have trouble understanding one point, the margin.
When we trade in traditional we can calculate in advance the margin that we will earn by calculating the cost of purchasing the product and the cost of resale
but there with the subscription system as I will buy different products every month but the selling price, of the subscription, is the same then the margin is going to be different? is not it? So you have to do a margin calculation every month when you go to sourcing?
Is my question legitimate or am I wrong in my reasoning?
thank you
Cyril
Thanks for your video. How does it work to have subscription boxes with handmade items. Also, can I vary the option between box and perhaps a download of pages to colour or challenge for the month?
Hi Shoshanah: It really depends on what the quality level and demandis for your handmade items. It am not a fan of homemade stuff but not everyone is like me. Tons of people love these boxes with homemade items: ruclips.net/video/s8gW4FdumvI/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/PMSfA-4FQKo/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/ddUoJl9ko4U/видео.html
@@PrettyFabulousDesigns Thanks for your comment and for the links. How about hand knitted toys, beanies, hand beaded jewelry. Or do you prefer factory made?
@prettyfabulousdesigns sorry if I butchered the spelling... But does this apply to mystery boxes or themed boxes that you sell one at a time? Would love to know because I really want to start making mystery boxes and themed boxes
Omg, This sounds like a lot of work but I want to create a subscription box so bad.
How do you create a website for them?
I am having trouble downloading the cheatsheet.
How do I download the vendor list?
Do you have more videos on this subject
Hi there: Sorry - not at this time. XO Lisa
I currently sell press on nails and I have a few regulars, I want to implement a subscription box. I cant figure out shipping because canada is expensive ahhaah!
Ohhh - nice! What a great niche area, especially now. All of the nail salons are closed here or outside only which is awful. If I were you, I'd package yours into envelopes and forget about a rectangular box - that should help cut down on costs. Or offer 2 options 1) LITE enveloper version or the 2) DELUXE Box and then people who opt in to #2 are already comfortable paying more $. XO Lisa
What size of boxes do you recommend and what’s the average cost to ship them?
Hey Shells, All my box size rec's are in the download (I actually don't remember off-hand) but shipping prices will vary. You'll get a discount if you sign up for a business account on UPS and FedEx. XO Lisa
1st comment!
I could not download the cheatsheet
Couldn't download cheatsheet
Hi HellJenny24: Well, that's not good! Sorry about that - send me an email lisa@prettyfabulousdesigns.com and I'll send it right over! XO Lisa
how are yall doing with the awful shipping & recieving thus far??
Awww - sorry to hear you're having shipping delays. I think it's widespread right now. Hopefully the shipping companies will do more hiring and ramp up on equipment to help meet the demand. XO Lisa
Cant start a subscription box if you don't know where to get products????
