First thing thank you. I had great tragedies in my life recently and thought after 25 years of reading tarot I would never pick up a deck again. Now after 2 years of not being able to look at a deck. I’m reading again and connecting with a part of myself I thought I lost. All because of seeing your thumb nail for True Black Tarot and clicking on the video. The deck called to me! I received it on Valentine’s Day and just having the cards in my hand made me feel I’m ready to work through my darkness and be in the light again. Many blessings my friend 🖤

Love your videos as always ✨ So my list : 1: Ariadne’s Thread Tarot - I had a enormous (I don’t know if this word exists 🤣) connection with this deck, it speaks to me and I he helped me to understand myself during my first really shadow work depth 2: Light Seer’s tarot - I cannot live without it it’s like the deck I’m sure I can read it without any problem, without doubting where I can trust my intuition because the images speak to me. 3: True Black Tarot - I love that deck, but it’s a deck I can’t read every day just in some occasion when I need light in the darkness . The imagery are minimalist and at the same time there’s a lot going on with the symbols the creator chose 4: Arcanya Tarot - it’s a deck of heroic fantasy based on game playing as Dungeon and Dragons role playing, World of Warcraft gameplay. The cards are dark and yet so powerful. 5: Oak, Ash and Thorne tarot - because it’s an animal deck as I had a psychologist education I’ve studied that having animal images or images that we can’t really relate to it helps us to project our selves without defensive mechanism. It’s also a deck that helped me a lot during my practice and when I need to work on aspects of myself but need a neutral deck it’s the one i choose, it’s easy to read as a RWS clone.

I think you'd like the White Witch Tarot by Maja D'Aoust, published by Red Feather. It's black & gold, with gold edges. Lots of black & simplistic but powerful art in gold/ cream color. It's a majors only deck. I did a reveal of it on my channel. It's different because it's meant to be used like Shakespearian therapy with internal role play. No borders but card stock is shiny. Would be interesting to hear your opinion on it.

This was a terrific and very interesting video, thank you for sharing your thoughts and decks. This is a difficult list to compile for me. 5) The Spread Machine Cards, 4) The Wildwood Tarot, 3) Deviant Moon Tarot, 2) Witches Wisdom and 1) Spacious Tarot. Honorable mention Dark Goddess Tarot and Sustain Yourself Cards. Of course this could change in a month or so, I have a couple of new decks I'm using and well, we will see if they kick one or more off my list.
My top 5 (right now. Because Gemini sun/Virgo moon wants my wholeass collection, and this will invariably change when my mood does) Darkness of Light tarot- a more artsy RWS based on photography and photo manipulation. Linen cardstock. It’s pretty delicious to shuffle. it’s definitely a better fit for me as an RWS because of the muted color palette. Too much color often overwhelms me, and this is a great little RWS in my opinion. If you’re looking for diversity, maybe this isn’t the deck for you- it’s all pretty, slender Caucasian people. But it’s artsy, and I think that they’re all people the author knew, IIRC. So I’m willing to forgive it since it’s his actual friend group that is homogenous. United States of Tarot (my ultimate shadow work deck. I do a lot of social justice and social cause stuff IRL as well as magickally when I have the energy, and this is AMAZEBALLS for it.) I feel this deck is very politically neutral, as the guidebook has positive and negative aspects for the cards. But it’s full of all the political players that we have seen in the past 10 years or so, alongside some historically significant moments in the past 60-70 years or so. I cannot recommend this deck enough, to be honest. It’s given me so many deep readings about people, places, energies. It’s amazing. Way of the Panda Tarot: Baby Panda edition- I mean, pandas. 💕 The guidebook is so smart, too. It is one of my fave tarot books, and there’s a lot of white space, so it’s good when you get overwhelmed or are burned out. Also, the mini size works so much better in my very tiny hands. It’s also a bit whimsical for when I need to pull myself out of that dark place. Cosmic cycles: this deck heavily features different body types and races, and non-binary people, and LGBTQIA+. This is my favorite client deck l, especially for those who may be hesitant around tarot. The comic book style is fun and fresh. But the main thing I love about this is that it features plus sized people in a way that IS NOT tokenism. (Unlike a lot of decks like LightSeers, who **say** they are diverse but only has like 12 POC and NO body diversity in a whole 78 card deck) Dark woods tarot: I feel like such a stereotype for loving this deck as a goth, plus this deck lacks a lot of diversity. But it’s such an easy reader. The fae creatures are so relatable and I love the story being told from the heroines perspective, and the art is just GORGEOUS. I can’t deny this deck. Lastly: true black. It’s a bit thick to shuffle, I wish it was thinner. (Again, baby hands) and I would ADORE this in a mini size. I don’t need to extol its virtues to this group lol. Bonus decks: The Telluric tarot. The cardstock on this is garbage, but it’s gorgeous. It’s also helping me learn crystals and plant medicine. I will lay out these cards next to the same ones in a reading, intuitively think about what I THINK the plants and gems represent, and then read the book. The gentle tarot mini: I was skeptical at first. The art is NOT MY STYLE at all. But I felt a pull. While this deck says it’s gentle, it is like that older cousin who won’t let you get away with not seeing the truth. I adore it.
Have you seen that Ian Daniels made a Faery Oracle? If you have, did you rule it out/decide against it? If yes, why? If you haven’t then I’d recommend you check it out!

I'm a long-time lover of Merchant Ivory films and I have a secret goth side to me. Also into Victorian or Edwardian stuff. Room with a View is one of my absolute favorite films. In my normal day attire, I wear very vivid and bright colors (I'm a very artsy person), but in my 20s, I used to dress up all in black goth and go to goth bars and nightclubs. You are one of the reasons why I brought the Tarot of the Vampyres many years ago. I was already in love with vampire theme stuff before I saw your channel.
A Room With a View is my all time fave movie. I was high school in 1985 when it came out. My (still) crush is George Emerson and Julian Sands. I love blonde men and he was the quintessential when I decided I’d rather live in any other time but contemporary times.. my four favorites with my four fave heroines is where I would pretend to live and who I’d pretend I was- Lucy Honeychurch in Edwardian times, Juliet Capulet in the 16th century Verona, Italy, Anne of Green Gables, and Scarlett O’Hara. But A Room with a View is my #1 all time. I’m so happy that it’s appealing to the younger folks of today, as it has been a fave if some of us older folks for years. ❤️

My top 5: Thoth Tarot, Mary-El Tarot, Tarot of the Crone by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince, Animal Woman Story Medicine Tarot by Jessica Zinchuk, Alice Tarot by Baba Studio. This was such a Fun video to watch! Tarot of MM is one of my all time favorites as well. It’s so unique and I think very much an all-rounder type of deck for me at least. My others would be Victorian fairy tarot because it is my long term deck, Everyday Witch tarot, and then I’d need my Goddess Dreams oracle deck, and the Sacred Forest oracle as well. ~Krislynner

Love every deck you chose. Tarot of Vampyres is potent, a game changer ride or die deck. She’s some serious business and because of that, we must take her serious. Putting in the effort & time to spend with her, connect, get to know her all makes way and leads to forging an unbreakable, extremely deep bond. Another deck that has so much substance is Tarot de la Nuit. The surface is almost like a camouflage and a “don’t judge a deck by its cover”situation because there is so much depth to that deck once shes actually see past the prettiness. Once you reach that level of realization & clarity-ohhh she speaks. If she’s seen only in a superficial way, then she’s going to give superficial reads. I wouldn’t consider her my top 5, however when you mentioned putting in the work with Tarot of Vampyres, it made me think of Tarot de la Nuit. Just some ramblings lol. Also, and as always, you look stunning. 🖤
I'm new to your channel. I discoverered you through Tarot of the Vampyres and I throughout the video I was like: Is she gonna include the Vampyres tarot??? Until you mentioned it, hahahaha. I wish I had Tarot of the Vampyres... It's +100€ on my Amazon (I guess European Amazon?). I don't have many esoteric shops here that can sell it cheaper to at least 30€. Most of them sell them at 40 😂. Book depository takes a long ride to get it here. I just know once I have the Vampyres tarot, I'll love it since I don't have any like it on my collection! True Black also sits on my Top 5 :)! Waiting for more videos!
I loved the early Zelda and Dark Wood Tarot is one of my favorite . I want the True Black Tarot, on my wish list. The Murder of Crows is also a favorable of mine. Just got it a couple months ago . I don't have the Tarot of Mystical moments, but all of the others I am in love with all of them. My favorite is the Murder of Crows Tarot. It is bad ass. Love your energy.
I feel the connection with the Tarot of Mystical Moments and the art is stunning. I don't know if this happen to you with the Mystical deck but everytime I use the deck with the entire 78 cards always in every spread for me or for others the majority of the cards in the spread is always Major Arcana. I remembered I did 7 card reading and boom all the cards major arcana and is always with that deck. I like Tarot of the Abyss too.

I’ve been subscribed to your channel since before you uploaded your first TOV video (10 years ago?) and it’s been on my list ever since.. every time I was able to purchase it I either changed my mind or something else came up.. last week I finally bought it. Even when I hit purchase I almost cancelled the order, I don’t know why I had such resistance to it but really felt like I wanted it at the same time. When it arrived it was one of those moments where I was like, why the hell did I wait so long!? It’s an amazing deck and has immediately tied in my number 1 place alongside Shadowscapes (both decks together speak to my hybrid style - similar to my profile pic - girly/goth). Then I read the introduction of Phantasmagoria and now I know why I didn’t get the deck a decade ago. I recently had a very rapid spiritual awakening (not that I was spiritually asleep before lol, but in the past couple of months I have accelerated more than I have in 2 decades), and the things Ian talks about in the book would have gone right over my head a few years ago. I have such a deep understanding of where he is coming from when he talks about oneness, polarities etc. I suspect he is aware of the Law of One. Have also had my eye on your #4 deck and might have to purchase that next! 🖤
I just purchased the tarot of vampyres. It's quite expensive now, but I'm really trusting you (and another creator that I saw talk about it right before clicking on your video) that it's going to be a knowledgeable friend to me! I'm a beginner at tarot and I'm looking for something that will help me interpret things in a more "holistic" (?) way. I have to say I don't like the way tarot gives so much importance to rules, if that makes sense. And the tarot of vampyres looks quite decadent. I also bought the dark wood tarot for the same reason. I know the book talks about 3-fold law and stuff, but the art is just so stunning. And I think it can be good for interpreting the cards in my own way while still following the RWS system. Do you think I made smart decisions here? Because now I'm insecure 🥴😂

Most of my tarotdecks are full color and bright, but I like to experiment with darker decks. I just ordered Murder of Crows and Vampyres tarot. True Black is really gorgeous. How about El Goliath tarot? I find that one really intriguing.

I am guessing you will pick the True Black tarot as your 1st .. we'll see if I am right. I was surprised that the tarot of the mystical moment made it up here because I think we just saw you talk about it back in Dec (?) .. but I agree. Word has been spreading that the Tarot of Vampyres has been discontinued and that once the current stock is out, it'll officially be out of print. Don't know how true it is, but since I've seen several people comment about it, there may be some truth to it.

4: Arcanya Tarot - it’s a deck of heroic fantasy based on game playing as Dungeon and Dragons role playing, World of Warcraft gameplay. The cards are dark and yet so powerful.
5: Oak, Ash and Thorne tarot - because it’s an animal deck as I had a psychologist education I’ve studied that having animal images or images that we can’t really relate to it helps us to project our selves without defensive mechanism. It’s also a deck that helped me a lot during my practice and when I need to work on aspects of myself but need a neutral deck it’s the one i choose, it’s easy to read as a RWS clone.

I think you'd like the White Witch Tarot by Maja D'Aoust, published by Red Feather. It's black & gold, with gold edges. Lots of black & simplistic but powerful art in gold/ cream color. It's a majors only deck. I did a reveal of it on my channel. It's different because it's meant to be used like Shakespearian therapy with internal role play. No borders but card stock is shiny. Would be interesting to hear your opinion on it.

This was a terrific and very interesting video, thank you for sharing your thoughts and decks. This is a difficult list to compile for me. 5) The Spread Machine Cards, 4) The Wildwood Tarot, 3) Deviant Moon Tarot, 2) Witches Wisdom and 1) Spacious Tarot. Honorable mention Dark Goddess Tarot and Sustain Yourself Cards. Of course this could change in a month or so, I have a couple of new decks I'm using and well, we will see if they kick one or more off my list.

My top 5 (right now. Because Gemini sun/Virgo moon wants my wholeass collection, and this will invariably change when my mood does)
Darkness of Light tarot- a more artsy RWS based on photography and photo manipulation. Linen cardstock. It’s pretty delicious to shuffle. it’s definitely a better fit for me as an RWS because of the muted color palette. Too much color often overwhelms me, and this is a great little RWS in my opinion. If you’re looking for diversity, maybe this isn’t the deck for you- it’s all pretty, slender Caucasian people. But it’s artsy, and I think that they’re all people the author knew, IIRC. So I’m willing to forgive it since it’s his actual friend group that is homogenous.
United States of Tarot (my ultimate shadow work deck. I do a lot of social justice and social cause stuff IRL as well as magickally when I have the energy, and this is AMAZEBALLS for it.) I feel this deck is very politically neutral, as the guidebook has positive and negative aspects for the cards. But it’s full of all the political players that we have seen in the past 10 years or so, alongside some historically significant moments in the past 60-70 years or so. I cannot recommend this deck enough, to be honest. It’s given me so many deep readings about people, places, energies. It’s amazing.
Way of the Panda Tarot: Baby Panda edition- I mean, pandas. 💕 The guidebook is so smart, too. It is one of my fave tarot books, and there’s a lot of white space, so it’s good when you get overwhelmed or are burned out. Also, the mini size works so much better in my very tiny hands. It’s also a bit whimsical for when I need to pull myself out of that dark place.
Cosmic cycles: this deck heavily features different body types and races, and non-binary people, and LGBTQIA+. This is my favorite client deck l, especially for those who may be hesitant around tarot. The comic book style is fun and fresh. But the main thing I love about this is that it features plus sized people in a way that IS NOT tokenism. (Unlike a lot of decks like LightSeers, who **say** they are diverse but only has like 12 POC and NO body diversity in a whole 78 card deck)
Dark woods tarot: I feel like such a stereotype for loving this deck as a goth, plus this deck lacks a lot of diversity. But it’s such an easy reader. The fae creatures are so relatable and I love the story being told from the heroines perspective, and the art is just GORGEOUS. I can’t deny this deck.
Lastly: true black. It’s a bit thick to shuffle, I wish it was thinner. (Again, baby hands) and I would ADORE this in a mini size. I don’t need to extol its virtues to this group lol.
Bonus decks:
The Telluric tarot. The cardstock on this is garbage, but it’s gorgeous. It’s also helping me learn crystals and plant medicine. I will lay out these cards next to the same ones in a reading, intuitively think about what I THINK the plants and gems represent, and then read the book.
The gentle tarot mini: I was skeptical at first. The art is NOT MY STYLE at all. But I felt a pull. While this deck says it’s gentle, it is like that older cousin who won’t let you get away with not seeing the truth. I adore it.
Darkness of Light is my favorite as well. ONLY deck that I have multiple editions of....all 4. Lol
Us of tarot: politically neutral? 🤣 It is so biased, come on! It's praising Obama and Biden as some kind of saints.

I'm a long-time lover of Merchant Ivory films and I have a secret goth side to me. Also into Victorian or Edwardian stuff. Room with a View is one of my absolute favorite films. In my normal day attire, I wear very vivid and bright colors (I'm a very artsy person), but in my 20s, I used to dress up all in black goth and go to goth bars and nightclubs. You are one of the reasons why I brought the Tarot of the Vampyres many years ago. I was already in love with vampire theme stuff before I saw your channel.
A Room With a View is my all time fave movie. I was high school in 1985 when it came out. My (still) crush is George Emerson and Julian Sands. I love blonde men and he was the quintessential when I decided I’d rather live in any other time but contemporary times.. my four favorites with my four fave heroines is where I would pretend to live and who I’d pretend I was- Lucy Honeychurch in Edwardian times, Juliet Capulet in the 16th century Verona, Italy, Anne of Green Gables, and Scarlett O’Hara. But A Room with a View is my #1 all time. I’m so happy that it’s appealing to the younger folks of today, as it has been a fave if some of us older folks for years. ❤️

Love every deck you chose. Tarot of Vampyres is potent, a game changer ride or die deck. She’s some serious business and because of that, we must take her serious. Putting in the effort & time to spend with her, connect, get to know her all makes way and leads to forging an unbreakable, extremely deep bond.
Another deck that has so much substance is Tarot de la Nuit. The surface is almost like a camouflage and a “don’t judge a deck by its cover”situation because there is so much depth to that deck once shes actually see past the prettiness. Once you reach that level of realization & clarity-ohhh she speaks. If she’s seen only in a superficial way, then she’s going to give superficial reads. I wouldn’t consider her my top 5, however when you mentioned putting in the work with Tarot of Vampyres, it made me think of Tarot de la Nuit.

I'm new to your channel. I discoverered you through Tarot of the Vampyres and I throughout the video I was like: Is she gonna include the Vampyres tarot??? Until you mentioned it, hahahaha.
I wish I had Tarot of the Vampyres... It's +100€ on my Amazon (I guess European Amazon?). I don't have many esoteric shops here that can sell it cheaper to at least 30€. Most of them sell them at 40 😂. Book depository takes a long ride to get it here.
I just know once I have the Vampyres tarot, I'll love it since I don't have any like it on my collection!

I feel the connection with the Tarot of Mystical Moments and the art is stunning. I don't know if this happen to you with the Mystical deck but everytime I use the deck with the entire 78 cards always in every spread for me or for others the majority of the cards in the spread is always Major Arcana. I remembered I did 7 card reading and boom all the cards major arcana and is always with that deck.

I’ve been subscribed to your channel since before you uploaded your first TOV video (10 years ago?) and it’s been on my list ever since.. every time I was able to purchase it I either changed my mind or something else came up.. last week I finally bought it. Even when I hit purchase I almost cancelled the order, I don’t know why I had such resistance to it but really felt like I wanted it at the same time. When it arrived it was one of those moments where I was like, why the hell did I wait so long!? It’s an amazing deck and has immediately tied in my number 1 place alongside Shadowscapes (both decks together speak to my hybrid style - similar to my profile pic - girly/goth).
Then I read the introduction of Phantasmagoria and now I know why I didn’t get the deck a decade ago. I recently had a very rapid spiritual awakening (not that I was spiritually asleep before lol, but in the past couple of months I have accelerated more than I have in 2 decades), and the things Ian talks about in the book would have gone right over my head a few years ago. I have such a deep understanding of where he is coming from when he talks about oneness, polarities etc. I suspect he is aware of the Law of One.
Have also had my eye on your #4 deck and might have to purchase that next! 🖤

I just purchased the tarot of vampyres. It's quite expensive now, but I'm really trusting you (and another creator that I saw talk about it right before clicking on your video) that it's going to be a knowledgeable friend to me! I'm a beginner at tarot and I'm looking for something that will help me interpret things in a more "holistic" (?) way. I have to say I don't like the way tarot gives so much importance to rules, if that makes sense. And the tarot of vampyres looks quite decadent. I also bought the dark wood tarot for the same reason. I know the book talks about 3-fold law and stuff, but the art is just so stunning. And I think it can be good for interpreting the cards in my own way while still following the RWS system. Do you think I made smart decisions here? Because now I'm insecure 🥴😂

Oh, True black is 3rd .. so is it the tarot of Vampyre ... still as number 1? I am curious now. Oh .. it is! I mean I was totally wrong thinking the True Black knocked that one off ... I knew .. I mean it is obvious. I actually got the Tarot of Vampyres because of you :) ..
Word has been spreading that the Tarot of Vampyres has been discontinued and that once the current stock is out, it'll officially be out of print. Don't know how true it is, but since I've seen several people comment about it, there may be some truth to it.
I just recently got the tarot of the abyss in a shop. I love it! I also just purchased the “true black tarot” lol I had to have that one. So beautiful…
