First time watching better call saul (reaction)
Not a bad turn around? Hope you guys enjoy 🤝💜🫡
Literally the one thing I remember from this year's ago was choking on my beer when we found out what his clients actually did....then laughing when I realized how mellow Saul was building it up haha
This reaction was a delight to watch, especially from your perspective as both a law and a film student! I can guarantee you're in for a wild ride with this series. Looking forward to your reaction to episode 2 and beyond! Subscribed!
Heyyyy. THANK YOUU LETSSG GOOO!!!
That is such a priceless reaction❤good job ellie
The skateboarder smashing against the windshield reaction was perfect
Set your expectations accordingly. Breaking Bad is hard to top; however, BCS has so many Easter eggs and amazing filming choices which makes it super fun to rewatch. I can’t wait to see what you pick up on.
You (almost) literally just saw Saul’s last scene in Breaking Bad just a couple of days ago, when they’re in Ed The Disappearer’s basement and he says to Walt “The good times are over! A month from now, if I’m lucky, I’m managing a Cinnabon in Omaha!” (And indeed, close up shot of the Cinnabon’s Health Inspection Certificate reveals that it is, in fact, in Omaha, Nebraska) So from the very first shot of a Cinnabon logo you should have known that this was future, post-Breaking Bad Saul and that bit of throwaway dialog had been retconned into either a remarkably good guess or, maybe, an indication that Saul & Ed had actually discussed Ed’s plans for setting Saul up in his new life.
And yeah, I know, it’s a bit jarring when we all tell you that BCS is a slower paced show than Breaking Bad, it’s not as chock full of desperate, life-or-death struggles with silent axe-wielding assassins and cartel lunatics, and then at the end of the very first episode they throw frickin’ TUCO in your face. But it really is a less intense, more character driven show. …for awhile, at least.
I just started season 3! Excluding the black-and-white epilogue, this show starts off somewhere in the early/mid 2000s, based on some of the technology (i.e. flip-phones). I FREAKED the first time I saw this episode when Tuco popped up, it was so unexpected! Looking forward to seeing someone as observant as you finding the Breaking Bad Easter eggs, you’ll probably spot more than the average fan 😂
Better Call Saul seems like the perfect show for a student of law and film.
Saul/Jimmy predicted that he might end up a Cinnabon manager in Omaha in 5x15. I love that Saul’s life after the events of Breaking Bad are so bleak that all the colour is drained from his life except when he rewatches his glory days on those tapes. I love how hard Jimmy fights to use his name when we know he is going to eventually change his name. I was just as excited as you to see Tuco again. I couldn’t believe Mike was the parking attendant… I mean he also apparently has come a long way by the time we see him in Breaking Bad.
That actually wasn't a prediction. That was one of the potential job interviews that Saul had lined up while he was hiding in Ed's basement. No one randomly predicts they are going to be a Cinnabon Manager.
@@Col_Fragg In Omaha, no less.
Can't wait for you to learn LAW from the second best lawyer in the world, soon you will know who is the first best lawyer in the world 😭😭
Loved your reaction and frames discussion ❤❤
Thank you 💜💜
Loved your reaction, Elie. That's how I felt watching this. You're clearly going to love the whole ride.
Breaking Bad is set from 2008-2010. Better Call Saul starts in November 2002. You can see the date on the check he gets at the courtroom.
I just finished this series! Ngl the pacing was slow for me at first and I almost dropped it but im so glad didn’t. What a journey!! Excited to relive it now
I am so psyched that you jumped right into El Camino, then on to Better Call Saul. I will do everything in my power not to leave any spoiler alerts. Simply ENJOY THE RIDE!!!
Bro you are gonna love this show 100 percent this show is what made me interested in law
Love this series and so glad you will be reacting to each episode. I, also, watched BB first and then El Camino....when every season was done, it was so sad to know it was ended.
Probably one of the most beautiful shows ever made you will love it if you are a filmmaker. (and that’s not even mentioning the excellent writing!)
The woman Jimmy/Saul is smoking with is NOT a receptionist! She was sitting with the partners in on the discussions with the big guns that Saul walked in on with her choice of damish. Not a paralegal either or any of the lessor roles one might usually assume woman fill in a law office. She is howerver, younger, so it's fair to assume that she is less senior.
Adding to say that I'm so happy that we got both the movie and now the first episode of the TV series so quickly! I'm so happy that you did them in this order!
Woohoo! *inserts Michael Scott "It's happening" meme *
Just finished watching your BB reactions. Great reaction to first episode.
Hello sir! Glad that YT still recommends me BCS stuff... :)
Glad you are here good sir 💜
I gotta finish this show, it’s been months, and I’m only a few episodes in 😭
Welcome to the world of Jimmy McGill my man! Breaking Bad was awesome, probably the best show ever, but the writing in this one is even better IMHO. Just like the Buffyverse, the writers in Buffy The Vampire Slayer were able to develop the characters involved in Angel so much more. The antics of Jimmy/Saul here are just off the charts, no need to say enjoy your journey because you will!. A wonderfully atmospheric start in black and white with Jimmy/Saul watching his old videos. Saul with his theatrical entrance into the courtroom and a crazy defence, sets up the episode nicely, as we then see the irrefutable video evidence of the drunken students. Was such a surprise at the time to see Mike as the car park assistant. The odd ball couple of Jimmy is trying to get to the sign the form is so well observed especially with the slow motion clicking of the pen. The wife is such an irritating person. The two guys trying to scam Jimmy in the RTC is so amateurish. We have Jimmy going into the nail bar, the same one in BB he tried to get Jesse to buy to launder the cash. When Jimmy enters HHM for the first time it's just like Angel and the gang going into Wolfram & Hart for the first time. I have to say Howard's shirts and ties are one of the most irritating things in the show. We hear Chuck's name mentioned for the first time, one of the strangest characters from either show, and then smarmy Betsy and Craig in the HMM offices, Jimmy aint gonna let this lie. Funny when Elie says 'oh there's the receptionist' referring to Kim! A great scene with Jimmy talking to Chuck, talk about chalk and cheese with these two, two brothers were never so different. Saul trying to coax the two skater dudes to set up the accident is hilarious. Of course it's a shambles, and the funniest thing is the guy who is hot standing straight up after the car drives off. The two dudes of course picked the wrong car, and boy are we in for some surprise. Love the look on Elie's face when he finds out it's Tuco whose house it is. A great opening episode for this brilliant show.
Hello! New subscriber from Mexico 🇲🇽 a big hug 😊
bcs is definitely more slow paced, tending towards less action packed which i think is why a lot of people ended up disliking/not watching it. for me though, it was so refreshing, and i came out loving it even more than bb. absolutely adore it, stoked to see how u feel about it!
im 3 eps in and loving it. Massive fan of build ups if donr right!
@@eliemosesits done righter than right.
Omgg yess finally!! ❤🎉
"Best case scenario by next week I'll be managing a Cinnabon in Omaha". Pretty sure Jimmy / Saul he knew where the disappearer was sending him. That's too on the nose to be a guess.
I just finished your breaking bad reaction and el Camino 2 seconds ago lol what a coincidence
😁😁😊
but you do not just need a layer to go to court. often you need a layer to stay out of court.
ive only seen the first 2 episodes of better call saul so im probably just gonna watch it alongside the reactions lol
Trying the three kids separately might have benefits.
It's probably a longshot, but I wonder if you could get portions of the video excluded for each defendant, turning it into an unimpactful mess.
Excluded on what grounds? Assuming it's been authenticated...
Obviously longshot, but hearsay assuming you can keep the two others from testifying.@@sallyatticum
ELIEnor Moses the lawyer
This is a fun series for lawyers. Most lawyer shows annoy me. But this one has a good enough legal consultant that much of it is plausible and it's so incredibly well-written-acted-directed-filmed-scored... etc. And there is a lot of weird nostalgia, in that Jimmy's early days are reminiscent of mine when I was talking jail call appointments while working out of an office in a Vietnamese strip mall (with a Vietnamese and a Chinese attorney. And HHM is very much like a 4-partner firm I worked at until they broke up and laid everyone off).
Wow, Criminal law is an elective for you? Here, crim law & procedure is a required first year class (along with Contracts, Civil procedure, Torts, Property law, Constitutional law, and Legal Research & Writing.)
Receptionist? ::snicker::
No crim was compulsory first year but in my 4th year i didnt pick the advanced crim option
@@eliemoses OH! Okay, I was really surprised momentarily! haha
@@sallyatticum yea hahahaha. Didnt really like crim
Wahoooo
I only just saw this series earlier this year for the first time. I never took the time to get into it before when it was on AMC. I prefer binge watching anyway. So yay! This has Mike, as you wanted, in his early days and a lot more of the Salamancas. Plus Slippin' Jimmy, in all his glory. Showing that becoming a good lawyer involves a lot of acting skills. And he's actually Irish, but then changed his name because it's all good, man.
I wouldn't exactly call this Mike's "early days." heh
Are you a film student or a law student? Is this a click bait?
Both hahahhahha im doing a double degree currently 🙂🫡
Drip
Seriously good looking dude
ill take it hahahah
