Hey Grego, hot tip for heating pies that are frozen this works very well thank me later, I’m an ex-pastry chef and have made more pies than you have had hot dinners and this is one of the reasons I got an air fryer so I could have a flaky pastry hot pie from freezer to plate in 9 minutes max, 3 minutes in the microwave, then 6 minutes at 165°C in air fryer better and faster than going down to the local bakery and yes always get your pies when they are on special

I actually prefer to buy the Proper National Pies from the fresh section in Woolies. They have quite3 few flavours and are super easy to cook. Pre heat air fryer for 2 minutes then 200 degrees for 12 minutes and they are done. Excellent pastry and great tasting pies. Cost about $7.80 for 2. I will never understand why all chicken pies have to have a white sauce which I hate.

I get good results heating supermarket pies from fridge temp (not frozen) with my KMart Mini Bitesize Snack Maker (the red one). Takes about 10-12 minutes, be sure to close the lid. Air fryer tends to dry the pastry too much IMHO, and microwave doesn't give a great result, as we know.
grego grego grego. turn the pie upside down to start. that exposes the largest surface area to the heat, and will nearly halve the cooking time needed. turn it up the right way for 5 mins at the end. this way nothing gets burned or over heated, and everything is warm and toastie throughout, with no cold spots. you ripper !!!!
Cajuns would probably make that with andouille or something and serve it over rice like a curry and it definitely would be spicy.Looks OK,the filling wasn't runny so it wasn't just sauce.For a pie you want it ploppy like that so you don't end up with pastry floating in gravy instead of a pie.
U really have expensive prefabric food over there in Australia.. Is it gold flakes inside , because the meat is not there ?... a 400 grams micromeal is about 4 dollars normally where i live in north north europe.. at max is 6-7-8 dollars if its very exclusive..
I bought s pack last week on special supposed to be half price @ $4.50. TBH if I had paid full price I would have been cranky. Bland muck, not worth the price @ $2.25.

Frozen put in microwave 2min then add to air fryer 7mins add some marg to the crust cook at 160'c
