Didn't realize how much I love this video until it surprised me as a RUclips ad 😂 I found it hilarious. Glad I saw it though cuz I actually have been looking at some knee sleeves
Alan, thank you for making the time to produce these videos. I travel for work and if I ever find myself in your area I’d love to come by for a workout. Do you accept drop-ins? Cheers! P.S. Just bought a pair of these sleeves and a belt! Damn, what a great price!!!
Alan Thrall so...this video. That popped up as an ad, has an affiliate link, and is a paid advertisement. So it’s a commercial. But no where does it say that. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
Def hard to beat the value from Stoic. The downside with the STrong sleeves is that each generation seems to be a bit different in terms of build quality.
You dont need sleeves but I would definitely recommend wearing some when it's cold in the gym. you tend to get more joint problems at low temperatures, sleeves can prevent these problems by keeping your joints warm
I don't have anything earth-shattering to say, other than to thank you for your videos. I just turned 49 and I've been hitting the gym regularly now for a little over a year (Crossfit). Your videos have been extremely helpful and entertaining. Don't get me wrong, the coaches in my gym are very helpful and knowledgeable, but it's always nice to watch one of your videos that reinforces what I've already learned or, sometimes, shows me a different technique or perspective for the same movement. At any rate, thank you for all your time and effort to blindly teach all of those who are willing to learn.
I like knee sleeves for squats because the material bunching up behind the knee helps stop me from going way too deep. I've personally noticed I tend to sink my squats too deep without sleeves. That's why I like them
Just a small correction, Strong Sleeves aren't ipf-approved. Only 'slingshot sleeves 2.0' are ipf-approved at the moment from Smelly, Stoic will most likely get ipf-approved january 2019
Something about your videos is so relaxing and grounding, I'm very neurotic and watching these videos just makes me feel calm (a rare feeling). Thanks for these Alan!
Interesting video I've been wearing xs stoic sleeves and at first we're really tough to get on but after a couple of weeks of wearing are pretty easy to slip on. They are good not extremely tight like a wrap just good support. I'm 5'3 117 for reference.
Honestly, I was most appreciative of your evaluation on Ben and Jerry’s flavors. I’ll keep that in mind the next time I’m in the grocery store.... . . . . . And I guess the knee sleeve info was good as well.
I know this is an old video...but Alan if you get a second can you answer a quick question? What would happen if you rotated the Stoic sleeves so that the seam was on the side like the Strong sleeves? It seems like that would solve the issue with the seam in the back. Of course the logo would then be on the outside which should still look cool!
You know, I have to say... When you started out with this channel, it seemed like an Elliot Hulse knockoff that was replacing him after his channel died but now you've really come into your own with your own brand of humor and personality. Great work and hope you keep doing well! (Keep the beard microphone)
I started using knee sleeves in my lifting and workouts, no going back. No more clicking sound from my knees. For women -> REHBAND 7751 5MM WOMEN'S KNEE SUPPORT - RX PURPLE
Not sure due to the inflation or not, the Stoic is now 75$ (50% increased); the same with Iron Bull is increased from 39$ (back in 2019) to 59$ now; while SBD is still the same price but out of stock for many sizes.
Great review but just one question. If knee sleeves don't add any poundage in the squat do you think any of the top IPF lifters would attempt their max squats without them ?
Hello Alan! Another question to add. I see why you would try them after owning two different brands already but whats keeping you using them? just the grippies in the sleeve or something else.
Well done big man, that was a good video. I usually turn them off half way through but you were funny like. Thumbs up from Scotland pal - keep up the good work!
Do you notice the inner seams are more prominent or irritating between SBDs and Stoics? I had a pair Strong elbow sleeves that I ended up returning because the seams were itchy and left ugly red marks on my arms.
Hey Alan I know you've been high bar squatting more frequently, can you make a video on helpful form corrections/cues? I find there aren't many (quality) videos for high bar squatting on RUclips it's mostly centered around Low-Bar.
Great review mate. Just a question. Are these type of sleeves also good for other sports such as boxing, running etc? Because I've recently undergone a meniscus tear surgery so I'm looking for a piece of equipment to stabilize my knee during workouts without making it less flexible or functional. Thanks
Why can’t I just by a knee brace like a “ Mueller Adjustable Knee Brace Support “ Just strap it around the knee. I squatted in it and felt good for me. I haven’t tried actual lifting knee sleeves or wraps. Just had these around the house and threw them on
Sbd can help you Really.. I can squat 10 kg more i am 18 years old my One rep max whitout knee sleeves was 175 and i train a little bit i got 180 easyly i bought sbd knee sleeves and i can squat 190 kg for one whit Them
Luis Mendoza Mark Bell said yes everything he has in his product line will be. But the IPF can be picky with shit so you’ll have wait and check the IPF approved list every now and again.
Hi Alan. I would really appreciate your help on choosing the right size for my Stoic knee sleeves. My knee is 37cm, so according to the size chart I should get a medium (36.5-39 cm). But I am a bit worried it will be loose as the small size is 33.5-36 cm. Should I go for medium or small? I am a beginner, so I am gaining muscle faster. This would be my first knee sleeves, so I don’t want it to be too tight. Thanks in advance.
Hey Alan, I dont wanna be that guy, but I think you made a mistake on th federation approvals. The STrong sleeves aren't IPF approved, but the slinghot 2.0's are on the list. Quality video my guy!
So I have a messed up patellar tendon and because of it I wear a knee brace all the time but espically when ever I workout or play football. If I was to do a meet would I be able to wear that or would I have to buy some of those knee wraps?
What's up with knee sleeves and neoprene? Durability sure but if I can climb the roof (forgot keys) and they are only mildly scruffed, I don't see how the cheap ones I bought in Decathlon (16€, cotton and rubber) are not keeping my knees warm worse than these ones.
How come I can lift significantly more weight with knee sleeves? It's not just placebo either, I made a bunch of comparison videos, and I consistently hit more reps with knee sleeves.
Stoic wants to give you guys 10% off your knee sleeves!

Alan Thrall how can they offer such a fine discount on such an already fair priced item! THESE GUYS ARE HUNKS
Didn't realize how much I love this video until it surprised me as a RUclips ad 😂 I found it hilarious. Glad I saw it though cuz I actually have been looking at some knee sleeves

Milk and Cookies obviously
Alan is lowkey the funniest dude in fitness youtube. Comedic delivery is unmatched.
Ryan McBurney I agree
@asd fgh untamed and unmatched...
I’m going to start a company called Nietzsche knee sleeves and correct everything wrong with stoic knee sleeves
hahahaha
Alright you got me. I laughed.
good one hahah
And u would name them Kneetzsche sleeves
Deep....
Def hard to beat the value from Stoic. The downside with the STrong sleeves is that each generation seems to be a bit different in terms of build quality.
Brandon Campbell Diamond typical mark bell products imo
Still, for the price point, you have to expect a certain level of quality. I think Alan did a good job touching on that with his reaction lol
Here in America, expect in one hand and shit in the other. Im sure you know the rest of that phrase.
Thanks for the support, Brandon! We truly appreciate it!
It may placebo, but I wear knee sleeves because it helps my knees hurt less after squatting. not so much for any increase in my lift.
I feel much more confident squatting 90%+ with knee sleeves so mentally I feel it helps me more than anything
I wear the slingshot cuff 2.0 on 90% bench. Agreed that I feel less pain immediately after the set
The placebo is true, but if it helps - WHY tf Not? It's proven fact multiple athletes feels better aknowelegding their knees better lol
Zzl

0:45 PunchNugget looking jacked out of his mind. Alan you've tried the STrong Sleeves (I think), how do you think the Stoics compare?
OmarIsuf lmao 😂
OmarIsuf hey I have the same knee sleeves Bruce crochmunch wears u should try em out there great ! (Titan yellow jackets)
Brah you just got roasted at 2:46
Stick to the sbd's man
Enter me.
Your reviews are thoroughly lacking in BS. Thanks Alan.
Whahaah the Omar comment made me laugh
2:48 Omar would love this part.
I like knee sleeves for squats because the material bunching up behind the knee helps stop me from going way too deep. I've personally noticed I tend to sink my squats too deep without sleeves. That's why I like them
Honestly my favorite Fitness RUclipsr. Thank you for everything!
Dearest Alan, truly you are one of the best RUclipsrs ever. Forever yours, Bo.

The Stoic's are also IPF approved now
Your editing is totally fucking untamed and I love it. Comedic timing is *chef's kiss*
I love how organized the sections of your review was. Please do more reviews.
I just bought the slingshot sleeves today. I can’t wait to start using them. Also purchased the Bear Klaws from Rogue as well.
Love the knowledge & honesty from this guy and that’s why I follow the page 👍🏽👍🏽
I like the metal infomercial vibe this video has going on. I would watch this at 2 A.M. for sure.

Thanks for the support Perumina!
Stoic elbow cuffs are amazing. They're thick neoprene as opposed to just elastic, and healed my tendonitis within a week.
Thanks for the support! It is much appreciated!

Your videos are getting better than ever... Very entertaining.. And Poka LIVES..!!
galevonhaussen Polka will never die!
Your editing has improved a bunch man! Great video as always!
Great review!!!!! Getting back in the saddle and this is the best knee sleeve review I’ve seen
I don't use knee sleeves, but every video of yours is entertaining.
idk why I'm watching a review on sleeves that I already own and use frequently but here I am.
Not only are your videos very informative, but they have also gotten a lot more entertaining to watch! :D
Great review Alan! Thank you!
I think what makes the difference is how the inseams irritate/imprint the skin and how durable the material is.
Swear best video I've seen in a long time was interesting and funny all at once loved it great work sir
Allan, you’re the man. Keep up the great work
Now THAT is a proper review.
I don't give a F about knee sleeves but I still watched this video because you are inspiring AF.
I know this is an old video...but Alan if you get a second can you answer a quick question? also, do more of these reviews please. amazing.
I started using knee sleeves in my lifting and workouts, no going back. No more clicking sound from my knees. For women -> REHBAND 7751 5MM WOMEN'S KNEE SUPPORT - RX PURPLE
I think a7 cone knee sleeves are severely underrated. And Comparable price to stoic.
Watching this because it was an ad for a mark bell video!!!!
Mad props Alan for making it to add status!!!! Fuck ya
Not sure due to the inflation or not, the Stoic is now 75$ (50% increased); the same with Iron Bull is increased from 39$ (back in 2019) to 59$ now; while SBD is still the same price but out of stock for many sizes.
Love the editing
100% agree on the ice cream, with a 3 way tie including cherry garcia for me
I didn’t even know I wasn’t subbed to you all this time. I deeply apologize for my mistake
Great review but just one question. If knee sleeves don't add any poundage in the squat do you think any of the top IPF lifters would attempt their max squats without them ?
Life changing. Absolutely life changing.
0:38 we need to know!!!❤️
Hello Alan! Another question to add. I see why you would try them after owning two different brands already but whats keeping you using them? just the grippies in the sleeve or something else.
tore my knee twice playing soccer and got into lifting abt a year ago, think its about time for a pair of knee sleeves lol
I think PEMF devices such as earthpulse, flexpulse, etc are great too
Hey Alan I know you've been high bar squatting more frequently, can you make a video on helpful form corrections/cues? I find there aren't many (quality) videos for high bar squatting on RUclips it's mostly centered around Low-Bar.
Great review mate. Just a question. Are these type of sleeves also good for other sports such as boxing, running etc? @Oliver Cary oh I see. thanks a lot for replying mate.
Alan, can you give a review for your new microphone holder?
Hey, you never said which size you wear; it would be helpful for the dimension comparison.
I'll probably get these soon! Stoic will be IPF approved this fall!
Have you tried both sbd and stoic? If so which do prefer?
Strong sleeves finally got IPF approval? Thought that wasn't gonna happen until next year.
Allan, the half brownie batter, half cookies and cream with the cheesecake core is the best flavor.
Is it tigher than knee wrap? If no how many percent of strenth(tight) compare with knee wrap. Thank you for your advice in advance.
0:04, I listened to this guy and stopped watching the video
I like stoic I barely fit into a xxs. Wish they made a few sizes smaller
Thanks for the review, sucks that the Stoics only come in limited sizes though.
Hey Jacob! What size are you looking for? It'd help us determine what sizes we need to start creating. Thanks!
Lift Unlimited, I wear 5XL SBDs. Probably not a popular size. But it would be awesome if you guys started.
Refreshingly to the point.
Do they have anything to do with knee protection and support in terms of injury prevention. Or is it just for rebound purpose
A hunk of hulk of burning fudge is our favourite
Thanks for the shout out at 2:09 ! Alan the manimal.
Considering you don't notice a significant difference when wearing them, I think I'll go with the stoic based on bang for your buck.
I didn't give a $hit about sleeves until I watched your video. Thanks for the info.
Alan which ones do you think would work best for strongman, ie moving events , loading and pressing?
Why can’t I just by a knee brace like a “ Mueller Adjustable Knee Brace Support “ Just strap it around the knee. I squatted in it and felt good for me. I haven’t tried actual lifting knee sleeves or wraps. Just had these around the house and threw them on
Sbd can help you Really.. I can squat 10 kg more i am 18 years old my One rep max whitout knee sleeves was 175 and i train a little bit i got 180 easyly i bought sbd knee sleeves and i can squat 190 kg for one whit Them
I love my strong sleeves but have never wore anything but.
So the Strong Knee sleeves are IPF approved now??
Luis Mendoza Mark Bell said yes everything he has in his product line will be. But the IPF can be picky with shit so you’ll have wait and check the IPF approved list every now and again.
The stoic are 60 bucks now. Thanks a lot Alan
Think it's more now
Hi Alan. I would really appreciate your help on choosing the right size for my Stoic knee sleeves. My knee is 37cm, so according to the size chart I should get a medium (36.5-39 cm). Hey Alan, I dont wanna be that guy, but I think you made a mistake on th federation approvals. The STrong sleeves aren't IPF approved, but the slinghot 2.0's are on the list. Quality video my guy!
I don't care about knee sleeves, but I still watched the video.
I am a rebel
Omar needs those SBD's lol...
Primus transitions are the best transitions.
This video is right up my comedy alley. 🤣
Don't care about knee sleeves. But I still watched the video because I like hearing Alan's take.
So I have a messed up patellar tendon and because of it I wear a knee brace all the time but espically when ever I workout or play football. If I was to do a meet would I be able to wear that or would I have to buy some of those knee wraps?

I think the "sticky stuff" that reduces sleeve movement might be silicone
Is your mic clipped to your beard? LOL! I love it!
I bet Alan eats a pint of Ben & Jerry’s every night god damnit it’s the best possible scenario
Have you heard of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy for athletic performance enhancement?
Have 'em. They're awesome.
How come I can lift significantly more weight with knee sleeves? It's not just placebo either, I made a bunch of comparison videos, and I consistently hit more reps with knee sleeves.
If someone came to our gym they would think we are sponsored by stoic and fleo lol
If I could grow a beard, I too would train unshaved.
Seen this video 10 times and just seen the mic clipped to the beard
Since you brought up ice cream, when's that ice cream eating contest between you and your brother happening?
O my God parts of this video were so fucking funny, and u do it with the most serious face lmao. i was dying
