The amount of respect I have for these players, one of them KNOWS it's physically impossible for him to win, and is fighting an uphill battle to get a draw, the other KNOWS that he cannot lose, but COULD get the win if he micros perfectly. They have less units to fight with than fingers on their hands, and they are still at each other's throats to the very last second.
Lifting buildings is fine, terrans need it for balance... but if you have 0 supply and have not enough resources to build anything (or choose not to), then you should be declared loser of the match
Lifting buildings is fine, but it's not fine that you can force out draws with them (when the other 2 races would lose). This is a huge balance issue with sc2 that was never addressed... they should just make a timer on how long a building can fly before it forces a land.
Why is this an issue? They are different races, they should have diffrent strengths and weaknesses. One of terrans strengths is, being able to draw games like these. Other races have other strengths. So what?

This way, u keep the mobility and most advantages, but get rid of these drawes... I personaly think, that its just to unfair to be able to do this, on the other hand it doesnt happen often in pro scene. But it would have solve silver league isssues :D Anyway, there is more pressing matters to adress in SC, so this never was about to change anyway...

Buildings need a fuel mechanic or something, othervise terran is too safe to play, or lets say on ladder draws never happen, but in tournaments, if terrans calls for a draw, they lost, they are allready playing the most garbage turtle faction haveing a passive ability to just being unable to lose a close game is way beyond unhealty.
They had this at one point. If the Terran buildings weren’t on the ground, they weren’t considered bases. So you had to have at least one landed to continue the game.
Quite a few people seem to think that lifting buildings is a problem, but it really isn't. It's part of what makes each race unique and balanced. If there's anything you should complain about, it's that there was even dead space on the map to float buildings to in the first place. So please quit trying to make it look like a problem, and if you still want to, then complain about dead space on maps instead of lifting buildings. Aside from that, that was an amazing draw to watch happen. Very intense. Very exciting. Very hilarious to watch all the way through.

When he lost his army units the game was a draw, he didn't ask for a draw he declared a draw. If anything showtime asking for a draw with the smily face was a dick move to get in his head as he knew he had mismicroed

A marauder and marine is not enough to take down an archon especially with two batteries still in tact. I think Clem could've won if he brought in the idle SCVs sooner. The crowd's reaction to all the pick offs towards the end was awesome. Imagine being in that arena as it went down.

I mean... Wasn't it pretty much a guaranteed draw way earlier because of the cannon? Could a single marine and marauder hit the pylon from outside the cannon range without getting flanked by the archon?

With that last marauder and the medical, I'm not sure the cannon could have survived... Assuming the marauder can't outrange or unpower it, he could maybe pop in to hit it, retreat to heal from the medivac and outdo the shield Regen.

I feel like it’s bullshit to allow a flown building to cause a draw cause it totally handicaps any non-Terran in situations like this to have to keep a flying anti-air unit alive while Terran only has to eliminate that to deny the enemy any win potential. Obviously, it’s something that almost never comes up but it’s a shame to see someone clearly win and then not get an actually victory
Its like in a chess game when your enemy has only the King left and you have a quite amount of pieces left. Then you missplay and a stalemate happens. He could have build a phönix and then hut the ships down but he didn´t so he deserves not to win.
Bernd Arndt that’s true except it’s one class that incidentally has a stalemate option. I remember back in earlier blizz games when there was no “base reveal”. It was a disappointing way to end the game so they made it town hall only to stop reveal. Protoss and Zerg have no draw condition but Terran does. I don’t think that should be a thing personally. It’s certainly not an intended balance function. I’m just saying there should be a timer that starts if all buildings remaining for Terran are flown so that when they have no units, they can lose even if the other player is also beaten down

To think of it, protoss has almost 10 times more unit than the Terran with cannon/shield battery/archon that the Terran will never able to kill, but Terran has the power to call draw or not, that's pretty stupid. They need to implement a rule that if Terran has no unit left it should reward the other opponent the win. That will force Terran to draw earlier instead of wasting everybody's time.

No. The game has an inbuilt draw system, but it takes several minutes of no action to trigger it. In tournaments they have rules in place to not have to wait those several minutes. In tournaments as soon as both players type "draw" into chat the draw is decided and nothing else matters. So the game screen will say the person that leaves last is the victor, but irl the tournament officials will count it as a draw.
I feel that if terran has nothing but floating buildings left they should lose. The fact that they can force a draw when they have no units is a bit dumb.

There is no Nexus duh. The casters already said many times that Showtime doesn't have anymore minerals to make another Nexus. Also check @11:33 , do you see any Nexus there at the building tab?

This is the most nail-biting and intense game I ever seen so far and I've seen hundreds. I'm actually loving base trades now.
I was Clem's age playing Brood War with my friends - so glad the series has spanned a couple decades now, and hope it doesn't stop here

That's one of the advantages of Terran: that they have tools to work with in favour of base trades. Each race is unique, don't homogenise them.

Pretty easy to cancel a base trade. Just pick up the whole base and leave with it.
Recall is there because Protoss armies are slow af and can't reinforce their bases for a counterattack at all if they didn't have it.
