She is an expert in traditional Japanese dance, both with the fan (shi) and the sword (ken), as well as the traditional Japanese art of shigin, which is singing and poetry. She also teaches dance and shigin at university. She composes music and writes the lyrics for a lot of her songs. She is the best unknown singer on the planet, only Adele is her equal. The entire group are experts at their instruments, both modern and traditional, and the guitarist and the bassist are amazing composers and songwriters in their own right. There are SO many videos for you to watch, and they are all amazing. They bring a beauty to music that is not found anywhere else. Enjoy the ride. Wakaggi merely means Traditional Japanese musical instruments... She is playing a shamizen. A three string instrument. You're also hearing a Koto which is like a harp laying down. The Japanese call flutes "Fue" there are dozens with specific sounds, size, and made from different material , from bamboo to wood and bone. He's wearing a Kobuki mask. They're used in traditional Kobuki theater. Think back on all your references of video games and anime. They, were all from Japan, just like this music.
