Verbolten was one of the first intense coasters I have ridden in my life. I was attracted to the trains that looked like automobiles, and I thought that it would be a fun family ride with no scary elements. Boy was I wrong!
The Hulk coaster is one of my all-time favorites. The actual scenery isn't that heavily themed or anything after the launch, but it's one of the best examples of an actual themed coaster, like the track and everything. It really does make you feel like you're becoming a gamma-radiated beast during the ride. That sudden adrenaline rush is all the the theming you really need. I assume it's pretty close to what Bruce Banner'd feel, with less rage obviously. Even at the end, when it slows down and stops before heading back in, it feels like my radioactive wrath is finally calming down and I'm no longer in *big green mode.* Also I love the hulk scream when carts shoot out, that's great.
That roar with the launch and adrenaline combined with the suddenness of being shot out the lift tunnel and then hearing the soundtrack that accompanied the ride experience makes for such an incredibly fun time. I always hit up the Incredible Hulk Coaster whenever I visit Isles of Adventure.
You can even plan your ride around the full moon in 1 of 5 months at night when they are open for the season, well worth it! Weather cooperating that is...
The drop track on Hagrid's put my stomach in my throat. I did everything I could to avoid spoilers of the ride and I am so glad I did because I never saw that coming! I was so upset when they announced the closing of Dueling Dragons but I am very happy with the new ride. I would also credit The Mummy and Mount Everest as having some good jump scare moments!
I wish I could have ridden on Dueling Dragons. I understand why it was closed since idiots with loose articles can really hurt people on the other track.
I forever will have some of the best memories on Hagrids, my two brothers were terrified of it so they sat out on the first time my family and I went. I absolutely hate going upside down like the hulk or being bounced up in down like Tower of Terrors but hagrids, Gringots and revenge of the mummy where the few that gave me the rush I love and don’t get serious nausea from it! After Hagrids I was a laughing mess!
3 months ago when I went to island's of Adventure during the castle show (at Harry Potter) l watched a video of a POV of Hagrids motorbike and l saw the drop l changed my mind going on it lol
I saw the drop in Rise of the Resistance coming a mile away, but it was still scary!! Seeing the other escape ships drop one by one knowing that you were next adds an element of impending doom.
I had no idea it was gonna happen and there was a younger kid with his parents sitting in our car behind us and he was CRACKING up he fucking loved it hahaha
I rode it for the first time over a month ago. I knew it was coming since I'm a coward and did my research, and the friend I was with told me about it. I still grabbed onto her and screamed for my life while she laughed.
I miss the DCA version of tower of terror when everything in the hallway would disappear except the doors, then the doors would drop…and then you would drop. That was always fun to see first time riders.
My little cousin went on it with my family, and she absolutely HATES any kind of drop. So when the ride dropped, all I could hear was her screaming at the top of her lungs and afterwards she was crying 😅
Wickerman has a great jump scare just before you re-enter the station with bursts of smoke and orange lighting, creating a cool fire effect. Gets me every time aha
I rode Journey to Atlantis soon after it opened and it was the coolest water ride I rode (Escape From Pompaii is very close) but sadly I rode it again with an ex and so many effects were missing I was disappointed as I hyped it up a lot. Still a loved ride though.
@@punkguuurl same here, except when I wanted to ride a second time, i then cried my eyes out. I had a fear of the fog effects , just like on E.T. I hated the fog effects. And I think everything else, didnt the hammerhead shark used to move ?

Lastly, there are these green eyes on the doors that open for the first drop. Sadly that's all I can remember. But there are ride through videos of the ride when it still had everything.
Verbolten is one of my favorite drop track coasters. It's a fun coaster in general and definitely worth trying out. A lot of locals don't like it though due to it replacing Big Bad Wolf.
the karnan jumpscare is one of the weirdest experiences on a coaster I've experienced. its a top 10 for me for sure there's nothing else like it in the world. also saw and 13 are classics being a UK enthusiast so its cool to also see them on the list!
Some interesting things to note: -For the Dark Knight, you are technically correct. I've done the Great Adventure and Great America versions, and while the van is on the right side for the NJ version, it's actually on the left side for the IL version. Actually caught me off guard on the latter. -Journey to Atlantis has brought back some of its effects to an extent, I believe earlier this year. The jumpscare hasn't returned, but the green eyes are lit up once again, perhaps we will see the old story come back after all.
Revenge of the Mummy should have been on here. The fake unloading is an awesome element. Plus there are other features on the ride that tend to scare people. Every time I ride it I see somebody get scared.
Winja's Fear and Winja's Force in Phantasiland should be added onto the list. The trick track sections are one thing. But the drop track before enterting the station again definitely got me by surprise the first time around.
@@cynicanal111 It's also a completly unique coaster element. Winja's Fear and Winja's Force are the only coasters in the world featuring such an element.

For anyone who wants to experience chaos (kind of) There's still a clone operational at Bobbejaan land in Belgium, revolution and it's absolutely one of my favorite coasters ever!
It's really cool that both Hansa park coasters were chosen. I never went to Hansa Park but I want to go there someday and ride these amazing coasters. 😁👍🏻
Even if I know a drop track is coming, it ALWAYS jumpscares me (I hate drop towers, and I only rode one once). This is a jumpscare that can NEVER be spoiled
Based on my visits to Great Adventure and Great America, the Great Adventure Dark Knight Coaster doesn’t use the truck effect anymore. I definitely miss that.
I rode Verbolten at BGW for the first time a year ago, I knew the droptrack was coming but it still got me. My dad had no clue though and I think he screamed when it happened...
8:40 for anyone interested, this coaster still exists at Bobbejaanland and is named Revolution, but the theme is different, only the track is the same.
As an eight year old who was terrified of zombies and monsters, space mountain ghost galaxy scarred me on a deep personal level. My parents claimed it was just a regular space ride but they didn’t know it had an overlay…
Fave night ride is one of the drop coasters hagrids motobikes at universal orl. The fact that the bikes have headlights and it winds through narrow corridors and trees makes front row at night awesome!
3:30 Despite riders on the ground seeing the train launch from the gamma chamber. When experiencing it for the first time it’s nearly always a surprise.
When I was like 14 I didn’t pay attention to the fact that Volcano the blast coaster was called the BLAST coaster so I did not expect that launch. Riding verbolten for the first time also scared the hell out of me with that drop track!
I used to work at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia. I worked on the "Wilde Maus" ride. Me and my fellow employees had to test ride the ride every morning. Yeah at first the ride was thrilling but after a while, we got used to it and it seemed like a kiddie ride.
Nerdly correction - that pumpkinhead looking alien was at the top of Chaos' "lift hill", the dragon thing was at the bottom near the end of the ride. That alien thing got put in when the theme of the ride changed.
Best Night Time Ride was one I just did a few days ago: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure! We got in the queue at 4:40 and rode it nearly 3 hours later at 7:20pm. The sun had just set and as made the first bend I realized it was dark now. I’ve been on it twice before with sunlight and this was the first time at night. I think this is how it was meant to be ridden! The movies are set in dark lighting and seeing all of the headlights on as we soared through darkness made this perfect!!
Th13teens vertical drop had me both laughing like a maniac and screaming my head off…definitely wasn’t expecting it. That and the fact that afterwards you proceed to go backwards in the pitch black makes it one of my favourite rides of all time.
It is a cool drop, even if you are expecting it it can still take you by surprise, and being pulled backwards afterwards gives you such an unexpected rush. Such a cool rollercoaster and one of my all time favourites!
Disneyland doesn’t do Ghost Galaxy anymore (unfortunately) I’ll never forget the first year it opened- the line for it was out the door for both fastpass and standby, and everything worked SUPER well (especially the last jump scare lol)
I wouldn't say it's one of the best jumpscares as it's really obvious since you lock on the track at a dead end. Earlier in the ride you also rise really high up.
this feeling happens when the train pulls away from you with the perfect acceleration to stop exerting any forces on your body, which means that the force of gravity is the only one acting on you at that moment. That's a freefall. You feel your stomach falling because your organs always lag behind your movements, which is a lot more noticeable on a roller coaster. If you want to ride roller coasters without the stomach drop feeling, ride rides where the train never stops exerting forces on your body (B&M inverts are the best example there)
I was expecting the Yeti from Expedition Everest to feature on here, that thing scared the hell out of me the first time I rode it just from how big it was
I have been on Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy many times. The ride was scary good fun and I do miss it. Harold on the Matterhorn Bobsleds, on the other hand, still gets me everytime I ride it. Fun fact: you can now see the original Harold in the loading station of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout as part of Taneleer Tivan's collection.
4:38 I was on a Gotham city ride in a park in Mexico City... And what I remeber was the truck almost flipping upside down on you and stops right before the end. I think they put different effects at the different rides there are around the world but definitely its one of the most scary rides ive been at considering how good they hyped everything out.
I took my young cousin on Atlantis a few years ago when she was only 8. I had her cover her eyes before we got to the jump scares because I didn't want her to freak out and start crying. Lucky for me it worked but she ended up bawling her eyes out after the splash lol
Loved that an Opryland ride was included. Gosh I sure do miss that park! I’d love to see pictures of the bear that was inside the cave on the water ride Grizzly River Rampage but I have never been able to find any of it.
loved this video! i think for future polls like this, you should include some way to find the things you mention, the first hansa park ride i struggled to find any good footage to judge off of, nonetheless amazing work as usual!
I know this isn’t a coaster but riding a star flyer, ferris wheel, or any large ride at a carnival is one of the best night rides you’ll ever get. Being able to overlook all the carnival rides with their light packages lit up while overhead is a stunning experience to say the least.
Yeah, you kinda figure out the timing from the audio for when Hulk launches, but it will get you at first XD Also, England representation from Saw, very nice! Should mention Th13teen though for obvious reasons, being the world's first droptrack
Seeing the Journey to Atlantis ride on this list made me bring back memories of when I first went on it during my fifth grade class field trip to Sea World Orlando, it was really scary for me and the part where the evil mermaid appeared scared the life out of me and I was about to cry. Surprisingly after that, I didn’t suffer any nightmares from it, I must consider myself lucky to have gone on the ride. It may have been scary, but at the end of the day, it was all worth it.
Phantom’s Revenge at Kennywood is amazing at night, especially the second drop into the ravine-it’s quieter because there aren’t that many people left in the park and there are no lights at all on the curve, so it’s just you speeding along in the dark, cool night air. Totally recommend
The first jump scare I remember having on a coaster was on Walt Disney World's Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. My friend had forewarned me of the small drop that happens, but I still screamed a little when it hit, though. Same thing happened at Universal Studios on Harry Popper: Escape from Gringotts, and Hagrid's Adventure nearly took me out entirely between the moment of weightlessness/suspension and then shortly after the drop. I'm not a big rollercoaster person, so all three of those were a bit much for me. WDW:RotR is the only one I've done more than once, and I vowed never to do Hagrid's again 😂
@Izzy I'm not saying it isn't an intense ride or anything, but I just think the terminology is important, at least in the context of a video about roller-coasters.
@@futurehistoryarchaeologist4480 it honestly feels really unnecessary to me. My comment is three months old, and is entirely about answering the personal experience question that was posed by the video. And really, the type of tract the ride uses is pretty unimportant to the general public.
It's not a roller coaster per se, but I was totally unaware of the sudden speed up section in DisneySea's Journey to the Center of the Earth. It's pretty darn cool... You get blasted by flames (you can feel the heat!)and you turn a corner and this MASSSSIVE lava monster animatronic is standing there menacingly and roars at you and your vehicle just takes off like a bullet in a upward spiral and you come out the side of the volcano, OUTSIDE and drop down into a track that goes around the entirety of Mysterious Island! It was a blast!
Not sure if I'd call it a jump scare persay - but I remember back in the day at my home park in Busch Gardens Williamsburg - when you enter the cave section of the Loch Ness Monster roller coaster, you begin to see a shimmer of a scaley body along the wall as you zip through the cave. And then there's a dragon's head at the end of the cave as you pass. It was simply scrims and whatnot and not animatronics or sculptures - but I do think it spooked riders on their first time, especially with the added sound effects. Haven't been in a while so no idea if the effect is still in use but I enjoyed it a lot.
6:55 oh wow this is a SUPER similar layout to our Seaworld (QLD, Australia and apparently not affiliated with the US ones despite the name)'s long-closed Bermuda Triangle ride...!
my favorite sudden drop track section is probably the one on Hagrid's Moterbike Adventure at Island of Adventure in Florida. I was not expecting it and hearing my mom's scream from next to me was hilarious!!
I can't believe they shut off the story elements for Journey to Atlantis. It was one of the main things that I fondly remember about that ride. Ridiculous.
The Dark Knight Coaster at Mexico´s Six Flags, when I was younger, I used to say before the ride ends, " You won´t scare me, you wont scare me! " to that freaking train. When my dad convinced to me to ride that ride, he didn´t told me what was going to happen. Im sure you already know what happened.
A very good and very underrated night ride is Adventure Express. It feels like 3 times faster and there is actually a lot of cool effects that only show at night
As far as classic track layouts that scare riders, I think Jack Rabbit at Seabreeze should have been mentioned. Like most old woodies, JR has a tunnel leading back into its station. When you enter the tunnel, you can see the station at the end but can't see that in the darkness between you and the station is another small drop - great surprise element on one of the oldest coasters in North America!
I rode Chaos at Opryland easily 100+ times as a kid. The dragon at the end was kind of obscured and comes out of nowhere - you're pretty close to it. Literally clicked on that vid because I was like "holy cow - is that CHAOS?!"
I've actually done 6 of these coasters, so I'll rank them as far as scare goes: 1. Dark Knight's van 2. Karnan's backwards drop 3. Vertical drop tracks (Verbolten & Hagrids) 4. Flucht Von Novgorod's launch 5. Incredible Hulk's launch 6. Journey to Atlantis's mermaid statue Unfortunately Flucht Von Novgorod's scarecrow wasn't working during my visit
@@oof3397 Uhm, the channel itself states at the beginning of the video there will be spoilers for all the coasters mentioned. So it being discussed in the comments is to be expected.
Dead serious. So happy you included Journey to Atlantis on here. Although it may not look like much, being on that ride is fucking nightmare fuel if you are 14 years old, and I don't scare easily. That jumpscare plus the heart- pounding drop right after is crazy. There's also another really unexpected twisting drop towards the end that makes you want to throw up for about two minutes. The whole time the ride makes you think about emergency exits bc they clearly show them too you too.
Because it's not good. I love the ride but that element needed to be right at the top of the lift hill, if the shed had been at the start it would have been so much better. It's also not even visible to many seats on the ride.
Good night rides (I'm biased because I'm from Orlando): - Hagrid's Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure (completely different experience at night than during the day) - VelociCoaster (It's fast, minimally lit, and has black track) - Astro Orbiter (Not a coaster but the views you get are beautiful at night) - Cobra's Curse (The lighting effects from the snake sat night just add to the creepiness of the ride)

It really does make you feel like you're becoming a gamma-radiated beast during the ride. That sudden adrenaline rush is all the the theming you really need. I assume it's pretty close to what Bruce Banner'd feel, with less rage obviously. Even at the end, when it slows down and stops before heading back in, it feels like my radioactive wrath is finally calming down and I'm no longer in *big green mode.*
Also I love the hulk scream when carts shoot out, that's great.
The Beast is definitely a must for night rides! Speeding through the forest with the cool wind in your face is next level!
You can even plan your ride around the full moon in 1 of 5 months at night when they are open for the season, well worth it! Weather cooperating that is...
It totally feels like you’re being chased by something out there too
The drop track on Hagrid's put my stomach in my throat.
@@julesc4551 IT’S SO AGGRESSIVE FOR NO REASON XD Flights of Passage was so much easier!
Journey to Atlantis terrified me as a child, but I miss it looking back.
I rode it in like 2007 or something like that
I had no idea what the ride was
At all
Blew me away how it kept changing!
Wickerman has a great jump scare just before you re-enter the station with bursts of smoke and orange lighting, creating a cool fire effect. Gets me every time aha
I love Wicker Man! Feed the flames!
Speaking of Alton towers, on thirteen the drop down was also a jump scare I thought it would've went backwards.
WICKER MAN MENTIONED‼️🔥🐏
I think the fact that Allura is sitting in the dark on Journey to Atlantis just makes the ride even creepier
I rode Journey to Atlantis soon after it opened and it was the coolest water ride I rode (Escape From Pompaii is very close) but sadly I rode it again with an ex and so many effects were missing I was disappointed as I hyped it up a lot. Still a loved ride though.
@@someoneout-there2165 Just asking . hope you don't mind. what effects were on the ride when it first opened ?
I remeber rode this when i was little and i cried beacuse i got scared
@@punkguuurl same here, except when I wanted to ride a second time, i then cried my eyes out. I had a fear of the fog effects , just like on E.T. I hated the fog effects. And I think everything else, didnt the hammerhead shark used to move ?
@@jaredporikos2197 My memory is foggy as it was years ago but there was a whole story where you followed this seahorse and learned of a sea witch out to stop you. I know there were some things along the way but the only other part I really remember is the sea witch screaming and starting to slide out at you. Lastly, there are these green eyes on the doors that open for the first drop. Sadly that's all I can remember. But there are ride through videos of the ride when it still had everything.
Drop-tracks are *really* freaky, especially if the rider has no idea this is an included element..!
Some interesting things to note:
-For the Dark Knight, you are technically correct.
++
They removed the scare in Flucht von Novgorod over 5 years ago. You can still see the scarecrow when you look up but it won`t come done.
Sad but true that they Removed it
Revenge of the Mummy should have been on here.
Was wondering if someone mentioned this one in the comments. A drop track that the train doesn't even stop for is just so next-level.
@@cynicanal111 It's also a completly unique coaster element. Winja's Fear and Winja's Force are the only coasters in the world featuring such an element.
The most genius part about it is that the train keeps moving during the drop which makes it so un expected
I'm hypersensitive to certain kinds of loud noises, so Harold on Matterhorn still freaks me out to this day, even as an adult
EXACTLY!! i went to disney again this last july and though the ride wasnt as fast and fun as i remember, harold was definitely really loud and honestly made the ride pretty unfun imo
@@dieanywhereelsee the matterhorn looks really good but the way it is built if a tall person went on it thay would have to duck there head
the worst is when you turn on that one track where he's at and he looks directly at you while roaring. the pitch of my scream goes 📈📈📈
Same here, when I went on Matterhorn for the first time my immediate reaction was to swear at it, it was an amazing moment between my wife and i
For anyone who wants to experience chaos (kind of)
There's still a clone operational at Bobbejaan land in Belgium, revolution and it's absolutely one of my favorite coasters ever!
I can proudly say that I rode Chaos at Opryland several times there before the park closed. I loved it!
Do you know of any more details about the dragon? Much appreciated
The first inversion on The Smiler was a complete surprise.
It's really cool that both Hansa park coasters were chosen. I never went to Hansa Park but I want to go there someday and ride these amazing coasters. 😁👍🏻
I was often at the Hansa Park and those two rollercoasters were my favourite 🫶
Novgorod is still the best coaster ever imo, it's like an unexpected king da ka in the dark
Even if I know a drop track is coming, it ALWAYS jumpscares me (I hate drop towers, and I only rode one once). This is a jumpscare that can NEVER be spoiled
i got out queue for thirteen
Based on my visits to Great Adventure and Great America, the Great Adventure Dark Knight Coaster doesn’t use the truck effect anymore. I definitely miss that.
Th13teen is by far the best night ride. In the Forrest when it's pitch black. Fantastic 👌
Th13teen for what it is, I like it. Alton Towers tried way too hard to make the ride more intense with the marketing than it needed to be.
When you know someone who doesn’t know the ride in advance what it will do. The reaction to this drop is priceless.
@@thecinematicmind exactly, obviously most enthusiasts (expecially UK ones) expect it.
But with the GP and a unaware guests it's hilarious
I rode Verbolten at BGW for the first time a year ago, I knew the droptrack was coming but it still got me. My dad had no clue though and I think he screamed when it happened...
A great night ride is Xcelerator at Knotts Berry Farm. Top of the hill with the slow roll gives you a great view of Buena Park!
Humid summer time night ride on The Beast @ Kings Island is a sentimental favorite but the same goes for Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City!
8:40 for anyone interested, this coaster still exists at Bobbejaanland and is named Revolution, but the theme is different, only the track is the same.
it's a different one, just same model. 'Just' 30 cars on that train
@@jochenhendrickx6373 lol "'just'"
Jumpscare are terrifying and amazing especially riding roller coasters. Loved it!
Here I am, learning that rollercoaster spoilers are a thing.
Coaster drop
tracks are the most amazing coaster jumpscare ever. I experienced it on Hagrids Motorbike Adventure at Universal Orlando
I know that rise of the resistance at Disneyland isn't a roller coaster, but it is a ride that does feature that intense drop track effect
I wouldn't say it's one of the best jumpscares as it's really obvious since you lock on the track at a dead end. Earlier in the ride you also rise really high up.
Saw The Ride’s axes to the sharp drop still takes me by surprise to this day.
I'm not scared of the jumpscares, I'm scared of that stomach-dropping feeling
Same, I hate when my stomach drops on roller coasters
Same
One of the best parts of the rides honestly
I love it. Especially when you go fast over the top of a hill
this feeling happens when the train pulls away from you with the perfect acceleration to stop exerting any forces on your body, which means that the force of gravity is the only one acting on you at that moment. That's a freefall. You feel your stomach falling because your organs always lag behind your movements, which is a lot more noticeable on a roller coaster. If you want to ride roller coasters without the stomach drop feeling, ride rides where the train never stops exerting forces on your body (B&M inverts are the best example there)
I was expecting the Yeti from Expedition Everest to feature on here, that thing scared the hell out of me the first time I rode it just from how big it was
I love your vid! They say Morgan Freeman is a great narrator, but you are right up there. Great relaxing voice
Always a great day when you go on RUclips and see a new theme park crazy upload
Yeah, you kinda figure out the timing from the audio for when Hulk launches, but it will get you at first XD
Also, England representation from Saw, very nice!
Rise of the Resistance isn't a roller coaster, it's a trackless dark ride. Really good ride though. Disney really went all out on that one.
@Future History Archaeologists close enough, it rides like a coaster for someone (me) who is iffy with coasters/similar rides
Incredible Hulk Coaster in Islands of Adventure, tried 3 times in 2013... amazing.
I was scared of the Atlantis ride when I was younger, not because it was necessarily scary, but because we were “locked” in the main room
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has that drop that totally came unexpected! scared me first time on it!
it’s always a wacky day when theme park crazy uploads
Verbolton... Busch Gardens!! Best jump scare I've ever been on!! Loved it! 🎢💕
I will never forget Saws first drop, especially as it was one of the first thrill coasters I did
6:55 oh wow this is a SUPER similar layout to our Seaworld (QLD, Australia and apparently not affiliated with the US ones despite the name)'s long-closed Bermuda Triangle ride...!
I love jumpscares on roller coasters they just add a whole other dimension to it.
my favorite sudden drop track section is probably the one on Hagrid's Moterbike Adventure at Island of Adventure in Florida. I was not expecting it and hearing my mom's scream from next to me was hilarious!!
I can't believe they shut off the story elements for Journey to Atlantis. It was one of the main things that I fondly remember about that ride. Ridiculous.
Ikr!
After back and neck surgery, I can never ride a coaster again, but it's fun seeing other people enjoying it.
I rode Hagrid's on my second day in Universal Studios, Orlando. 7 launches, and the drop track section, and it was my favorite, next to Velocicoaster
I rode Chaos at Opryland easily 100+ times as a kid. The dragon at the end was kind of obscured and comes out of nowhere - you're pretty close to it. Literally clicked on that vid because I was like "holy cow - is that CHAOS?!"
Omg my suggestion was mentioned!!
I've actually done 6 of these coasters, so I'll rank them as far as scare goes:
1. Dark Knight's van
2. Karnan's backwards drop
3. Vertical drop tracks (Verbolten & Hagrids)
4. Flucht Von Novgorod's launch
5. Incredible Hulk's launch
6. Journey to Atlantis's mermaid statue
Unfortunately Flucht Von Novgorod's scarecrow wasn't working during my visit
Yeah. The Scarecrow isn't in use since 5 years or so
SPOILERS FOR KARNAN PLEASE DONT
I miss Chaos. It was such a fun coaster.
Dude that dragon scares the crap outta me. Did you ride Chaos before the renovation or after? I'm looking for some more details about this.
I’m glad to see Thorpe park being acknowledged
Awesome video idea. Actually OC.
4:03 That is the Coast Rider at Knotts Berry farm here in California, and I've grown to love it, as it was one of the first coasters I've ever ridden.
How is the Mystic Timber’s tree/snake/bat not on this list?
Because it's not good. I love the ride but that element needed to be right at the top of the lift hill, if the shed had been at the start it would have been so much better. It's also not even visible to many seats on the ride.
Chaos was SO MUCH FUN! I went on that ride like 4-5 times as there was no wait when I was there.
I think Velocicoaster would be one of the best night rides of all time. I haven’t ridden it, but i have seen many POVs.
Good night rides? Disneyland's Matterhorn Bobsleds, and Thunder Mountain Railroad are one of the few I've experienced, and I love them.
The Hulk's launch hill is hardly a jumpscare since you can see see it from off-ride before you ride
Good night rides (I'm biased because I'm from Orlando):
- Hagrid's Magical Creature Motorbike Adventure (completely different experience at night than during the day)
- VelociCoaster (It's fast, minimally lit, and has black track)
- Astro Orbiter (Not a coaster but the views you get are beautiful at night)
- Cobra's Curse (The lighting effects from the snake sat night just add to the creepiness of the ride)
I miss Ghost Galaxy. It was the first ride that help me conquer my fear of scary things. 😭
I don't blame you for putting saw the rides surprise drop. The first time I went on it. It scared the living daylights out of me
Ghost Galaxy unfortunately has not returned to Disneyland for the Halloween season in quite some time :/ It was deemed too scary for families but here's to hoping someday it will return!
I heard it was because they moved the Halloween party over to DCA
