- Hey guys, in this video I'll be comparing Dorian Yates and Hadi Choopan. Both are known are the top of the top for conditioning--in their respecrtive eras. It should be a fun comparison and hope you all enjoy!

Hadi’s lack of forearms are really apparent in the most muscular
I'm actually shocked at how underrated Hadi is.
Dorian stomach is 1996 and 1997 was like a baloon and the judges rewarded him for that. Shawn Ray was fighting for this for years, but no one liked Shawn cause he said it as it was.
Hadi is not even close to being under rated. He is the third most meat ridden bodybuilder of all time behind Mike mentzer and Kevin levrone

The side chest is for dorian,hadi has oil thats why his shoulder does not present striations
Oil doesn’t necessarily look like that and his delts would have melted by now if it was. It’s probably scar tissue from pinning his gear.

It's been in style in those areas for the last 25 years or so. They were doing it heavily over there in the early 2000's.
If you can't look at Hadis delts and arms and see he is using oil, I almost feel bad for you.
Go look at big Ramy and Derek, they are also known for using oil. It's become a lot more popular in the past 15 years in the pro circuit.

You can see the change in shape and the lack of separation that many modern guys have. Big fake cannonball looking delts lacking definition.
Do you think 5% body fat delts just magically look different than 30 years ago? Suddenly there is no separation and everyone is perfectly round or even pointy in the rear?
People have been pinning gear since the beginning. Just accept the change in drug/enhancement use for what it is. His side and rear delts are enhanced
Don't stare at oil and pretend it's muscle. I don't see the point in letting presentism bias you to the point that you're literally ignoring the reality in front of your eyes.
If we had the base it on what we actually see these people doing we might as well consider them natural. I've never seen them take a steroid, guess they are natty too huh?
I think Hadi's side tricep might be my absolute favourite now. Yes his arms could be better and his delts could be prettier, but the guy's torso packs such shape and detail in this pose that it's crazy, it's like looking at an anatomy chart, near perfect.

torso doesn't play as much of a role in this pose.
Yes, it's important, but having bad arms will set you much lower than not having as cut up off a midsection.
Dorian is beating him in the side tricep.
The torso is why Hadi is so great overall and saying it doesn't it matter it bonkers since it occupies 30% minimum of the space of any pose. I don't agree, I've seen Dorian hit it better and this one just isn't that great.

I gave the Side Tricep to Hadi. Such a pretty pose. Hadi is Probably my favourtire bodybuilder rn. Hope he retakes the Sandow this year
Thanks for the comparison. Comparing a modern day champion against the Shadow who competed over 3 decades ago just shows the caliber of the awesome Yates. I believe the conditioning on Hadi is good however Yates is just on another level.

Dorian would beat Hadi in a competition - but I’m a big Hadi fan. Not every body part is a crazy strong point - but Hadi doesn’t really have a weakness. That combined with his proportions and he is crazy
dorians era was just so much better, the new era of legs just looks so fucking weird and it doesnt help that hadi dude is like 5'4 or smth, dorian just has the overall better package

Sampson would look 8 weeks out in comparison. The skin quality kills him. Hadi and Derek and Nick all come up his chest and Dorian is as thick and freaky as anyone.
Hadi and Dorian def have some similarities, but Dorian is just a much bigger man.
You can only do so much at 5'5-5'6. Hadi maxed out what he has, no question there.

Hadi had an excellent physique, but his too small to beat Dorian. Hadi brings that 90s/2000s conditioning back.
1995 dorian in those shows after the olympia was the one you should have used. He was the most shredded there

Hadi's triceps are a glaring weakness in shots like the FDB where you can see that they are just very short and end well shy of his elbows.

Dorian won the front late spread, side chest, both back poses, and side tricep. I’m not a big fan of Dorian but Dorian Won 🏆.

Andrew's abs are muchhhh better than Hadi's uneven abs.

FDB? I dont see Hadi as a winner. His arms arent any better. He does have better quad sweep but his stance also makes them look huge.But Yates just has that superior structure-short torso w longer legs. Hadi because of his long torso is a bit tooblocky in this pose. He doesnt have better v taper nor arms. I dont think on quads alone he wins this pose.
SC I disagree. Thats one his weakest poses easily. It wasnt Dorians strongest but its still better than Hadi
Both have conditioned legs and tight waistlines so thats a wash. But Dorians chest was thicker and more striated and he clears in the calves and forearms which are visible in this pose. And Hadis delts are soft.

They are not the same size, clearly 😂. Dorian and Hadi are actually similar in weight, or at least the disparity isn’t much

I did not… they are scaled similarly to every other video between the two.
Also, Samson Dauda, who is 80+ lbs more than Hadi doesn’t “dwarf” him. It’s all relative, Hadi looks just as dense, if not denser due to his smaller frame.

Sorry, i COMPLETELY disagree with you on this one. Hadi is great for his time, but his oily delts and arms, next to his pathetic forearms, make him look really weak compared to Dorian. He gets the abs and thighs, and MAYBE the most muscular (only because we are judging from pictures. In person i bet he wouldn't even get that), and that's about it.
That’s completely fair to disagree. While his delts are bad from certain angles, and he gets obliterated from behind, the front double, is undeniably close, and he smokes Dorian in the quads. While I mentioned that Hadi would lose due to the back disparities, he really isn’t bad.
@JakeUltimateFitness Hadi certainly is not bad and disagreeing is always fine. Again i certainly don't agree that Hadi "smokes" Dorian in the quads. Dorian has superior separation and superior teardrop. Hadi has that feathering, but mind you Dorian didn't reaĺly flex his lower body (or anybody back then for that matter). This is pretty evident by the glutes, which usually show no striations, but at the rare occasion that he did sort-of flex them, it was clear that he had striations for days.
