I like doing a quick bounce test. If you bounce the unicycle and hear something rattle, you investigate further, sometimes it is the frame or the pedal or the seat loose, but if everything is done up tight you should get very little sound and everything feels firm.

That's a great quick way checking if anything is loose or rattling.

What about lubricating the bearings? I don't know if I should use some 3 in one oil or wd40? Or will that make any grease they pack em with just leak out?

Bearings normally don't require lubricating as they are a sealed unit. You can pop the shields out of the bearings and re-pack them with grease. Oil and WD40 is just not thick enough.
