I have 2-1 TB SSD's in Raid 0 array with a 128 MB Cluster size that is recommended for gaming. When the 2 SSD's get Married in the Raid 0 Array I can create in my Bios using Raid & Legacy Mode I can configure the Array to my settings & wind up with 1 Virtual "C" Drive in Windows with 2 TB of Storage. I also install a 4 TB Storage Drive for my Backups.. It's a known fact that Raid 0 give you a 30% performance boost in Read/Write access time. My System Boots in 5 Sec's. Performance is awesome.
Thank you for this very helpful explanation sir! I was having some trouble following the instructions in my install kit but you really helped out there.
My desktop is a xps 410 which I upgraded the cpu and threw in a ssd hard drive and it has really benefited greatly but my pc benchmark stated that my ssd is not running at it's full potential.
so this bio setup will be the same for everyone. i just got an ssd and im new to pcs to i got no clue what im doing. i thought it would just show up when i plug it in but shits way harder then that
Nick Brochu Dude I just got too and my cloning software doesn't format my HDD after cloning and my SSD won't boot up it almost like it is just a load of copied file /:
I really don't think you spent enough time talking about the SSD drive IN the Bios. In my case, my SSD does not show up in the bios as "SSD" and my boot orders don't allow me to select it as it doesn't show up. It is my OS drive. so I'm just as confused as when I started. Thank you.
Great Video, especially BIOS AHCI details. Explanation clear and concise, thank you Ron!
Excellent instruction and great detail on the camera work. Well done!
Can i just plug the ssd in and then use a program to move windows to it?
Is this like VERY specific to to a PC like EXACTLY like yours?
