Just came upon this video...very nice......according to oppo in order to get the notifications on the status bar (for Color OS 5.0 and above) you need to enable it for each app in which you'd want a notification to show up at the top of the phone..... go to settings -->notification & status bar--> [click the app such as gmail]-->allow notifications--> display at the top of the screen....after doing this for each app in which you want a notification, you then need to turn off energy saving mode for each app: settings-->battery-->energy saver--> [select a particular app]--> turn off background freeze and doze....my goodness this is madness..i haven't tried this as i do not yet have the phone...but what a crazy work-around!
you are the best reviewer i have seen some doesn't check battery life or wifi speed like you do in every phone and actually wifi drop issue is common problem in all android one or stock phones like (mi a1 a2 nokia phones one plus) and no one talks about this issue on RUclips .. so you really are the one to respect keep the hard work on and thank you
Finally type-C from Oppo!! These companies, Oppo and Vivo, are sooo reluctant to change their ports from microUSB to type-C for most of their latest phones... I mean come on its 2019. Most companies already started using type-C on their phones.. Even the mid-range models :/

I wonder if the fin-shaped popup serves a purpose other than coolness factor. It seems to waste a lot of space, considering that the front camera is relatively small. Totally agree about the rear flash. There's plenty of space at the back for it. And thanks for telling us about the registration requirements in ColorOS for some scenarios - that is terrible! Xiaomi's MIUI has annoying ads in comparison, but at least they can be turned off (mostly).

My internet carrier gave me this for free, when I upgraded to my desired internet package. I have to say, after years of using low-end budget smartphones, this one is a very commendable phone. But too bad, ColorOS is just awful, if not ruining oppo's own brand. What they did right is the full screen and the pop up camera, also the flushed rear camera with the back panel. The pop up camera design seemed to protect the camera a little bit more, compared to One plus/vivo and also pops up slightly faster. Watching movies or videos on this phone is a joy as well. Will I buy this phone at its original price? Answer is, heck no. This is a great phone by all means, but the price tag is ridiculously steep, not to mention the choppy Snapdragon 710. On the other hand, its original brother, the 10x zoom seemed to be ok for its price. Btw, black variant of this has glossy glass back panel, while the green one has frosted glass. I suggest getting green if you do not get bored of the color easily.
Lots of good phones coming out at the moment. Going to wait until next week to see what the Honor 20 series is like then will decide between those, the ZenFone 6 and op7. The software is too compromised on this for my liking. Good review as always.

On my F11 and realme 3 pro you can turn on notification icons on Settings - Notifications & Status Bar - Notification Prompt Mode Also, both on my F11 and Realme 3 Pro, when I turn on the 3-finger gestures (for screenshot and split screen) the phone can only recognize two-finger simultaneous touches. Could you check if the Reno has the same problem? Cheers
just bought this reno, i would suggest to buy another brand who have a better chipset which is at least snapdragon 845. but this reno is quite a monster for a mid range despite of price and sd710.

@@lolenas Actually from a practical standing point, and av IPS is more durable than the best OLED in the world, and while it´s not one of the best screens out there, it´s easily above avg. Don´t fall for gimmicks. 5000mah+android stock+no shit on the screen, 3,5mm jack and great speakers+best soc +ufs storage and a well built smartphone. The only bad thing about it, which is actually aswell a good thing is the flip camera. It´s not durable, but on the other hand, it´s probably gonna be the best front camera out there. At 500 bucks, what more do you want?

Pictures look exactly like oneplus 7 pro with the same limitations. Yes a lot coming or out. ColorOS I'm not a fan of even if it runs super smooth and fluid just too many annoying things in it.
