    Used to own a 78. Was a california rust free car. Paid $750 for it. Put some air shocks in the back, and kept the straight six. Motor was bullet proof! Great cars. Still got a slight muscle feel to em if you do them up right.

    Well, there's a reason it was shoved in the back 40.
    That's the thing that's always baffled me about Will it Run videos. Sure it'll run (in most videos), but how good and for how long? Folks usually don't put a good-running car out to pasture.
    Thanks for all the tech tips along the way. 👍

      You're right again! Has to be a good reason to park a car! With the driveshaft in the back seat i was hoping it was a transmission issue! I was wrong! 😂

    I own this same car, I love her like a girlfriend. I blew the engine a wile back and took the whole front end apart to the frame... without taking pictures or labeling anything. This vid is gonna be an excellent refence.
    edit: made comment before vid was over, since it isn't running good wanna sell me parts?

    Are you sure this is a '78? I'm pretty sure they didn't go to the "squared off" headlight buckets/surrounds until '79. (Or maybe someone slapped '79 buckets on a 78.)

    • @BestDamnShopAround
      @BestDamnShopAround  9 месяцев назад +1

      I believe you're correct! The previous owner said it was a 78 one time and another time he said said 79. Honestly I didn't look lol

      @SaneCayne 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@BestDamnShopAround I'm 97.9% sure it's a '79. I had a '75 Nova Custom for my first car back in the day. So I got to know this generation of Novas pretty well.
      If the tail lights are squared off, it's 100% '79.

    • @BestDamnShopAround
      @BestDamnShopAround  9 месяцев назад

      @@SaneCayne the build date is 01/78 but it definitely has the six rectangular tail lights. Maybe it has been changed? Or it's a super early production?

    • @SaneCayne
      @SaneCayne 9 месяцев назад

      @@BestDamnShopAround Well that's an odd bird then. Just went back to the video where you dug it out and it does have the '79-style tail lights.
      So I'm stumped. 🤔
      The exterior's definitely '79. But I think it'd have to be built after June/July/August of '78 to be a '79, right?
      I just know I never liked the sharp, square lights on these discos, and I always saw 75-78s with the lights I liked.
      Anyhoo... cool car, hope you (or someone else if you sell it) can give it a new lease on life.
