I agree with you on almost everything you’ve said except eating vegetables, I’m 69 post menopausal and for the last 5 years have switched from a SAD (standard American diet) to a keto/carnivore diet….eating potatoes would blow me up like a ballon, vegetables high in carbs means it all turns to sugar, for me I not only store menopausal fat but fat! I’m genetically predisposed to diabetes and by eating a low carb diet I don’t have diabetes, however, I’m still not able to lose a significant amount of weight…..that’s why I understand what you are saying after menopause my ability to lose weight no matter what I do …..just won’t budge…..but I won’t eat high carb vegetables……..

So true about vegan food! My sister and I are identical twins, we are 60 years old. she is vegan since three years and I am a food conscious organic whole food eater (including little beef fish and some milk products). My vegan sister weighs 10kg (22lb) less than me!! She is very fit and flexible 😅

Were your stress levels identical; your intake of organic foods vs conventional; were her relationships less toxic; did her extra soy proteins support her estrogens, did she exercise on more regular basis or include a meditation practice.... there's a 100 variables, but v unless you have time to cook lots of clean foods, vegan is likely not right for everyone. When I did it, my bowels became more stable from all the fiber, but my energy was so terribly low after 3 months, I couldn't even do a workout. My protein just wasn't high enough for my accelerated metabolism. Love cooking from scratch, but this is def not a diet to be taken lightly and being unaware of nutrient demands, etc.
