As a Creek indian, I have nothing but respect for Dennis Banks. What he and AIM did at Wounded Knee all those years ago was simply an act of doing what was right for our people.
I met Dennis in '75 when I got him to come to my college with the drums. I will never forget him - this man is the most sincere, honorable, distinguished man I have EVER met! I will never forget the honor I felt introducing him to our "audience". That is one time that I had no fear about getting up there and speaking, I am so very thankful to him for bringing a national awareness of our native plight! Thank You Dennis!!!!
I met Dennis for the first time when he & AIM members came to the four corners in 1975. He is a kind & wonderful warrior not afraid to stand up to what is right & willing to put his life on the line for you.. I will always remember him as a true WARRIOR!!!!!
It has been a long time since we met many times .. thanx Dennis for being a friend and hope u still carry my stories I gave you and for sacred run ... my heart condition has failed me in health .. Keep the Spirit .. Remembered always ... Dan Troxell
It was an honor and wonderful experience to know and work with Dennis. To have him and AIM members come and stay with my children and I. He taught me so much, and I miss him so much. Dennis looked at the heart, the spirit of each person, and offered him knowledge if you wanted it. My dad died when I was fairly young, and Dennis was so great around my children and took my youngest to teach him. I will always be thankful to him. He was a great warrior to provide for the elders, respected the woman, and was a great teacher and model for the children. We were so blessed to have Dennis Banks.
I'm Shawnee/Seneca/white --Native blood by two adoptions. I met Dennis at a Sacred Run powwow down in Kentucky back in ' 97. After he finished speaking with someone else, I asked for his autograph. He politely obliged, said "thank you" and "Happy New Year". Wonderful man. Love his singing voice, especially Honor Song. Sad day when he goes to meet Creator.
I'm reaching...wanting to grab hold of something that has always been in my life. Though I am blessed to have learned and to have taken in so, now I just feel lost and empty. They dont make em like that anymore. Thank you Dennis...for coming to me....
Thank you He is a man to be honored and last to accept it. A true HERO to be a friend of his would be a great thing indeed. My hat is off to you DKMINC for making this video for us all to see.
Habe gleich einen Termin, möchte aber danach gerne wieder das Bild mit dem Schneemann wiederfinden? Ist darin eine Nachricht von Dir verborgen? Melde mich später noch einmal.
