Not a truck but I had an 02 Toyota Camry LE standard i bought for $1,200 & imo it is the Greatest year for camries. The interior was extremely roomy & the trunks are giant. It had 240k i sold it with 280k for $1,200. Same price i bought it for after 2 years of me driving it. I didn't want to sell it she ran like a brand new car. I never had to fix anything, ever! But i didn't pass for my license in time & i needed a place to live so i dold it for down deposit money. She sold in the first month if sitting on the side of the road. The very first person to stop & test drive bought it

I’ve always said it’s the “last real truck.” No gimmicks, steelies, AC, 4x4, Bluetooth and dual bench seats. It’s all anyone needs. We only use it to tow our 6000LB Parker pilothouse boat, road trips (smooth as a Lincoln), and to tow an enclosed trailer. I should have it for another 10yrs easy. If you use it primarily for towing put a transmission cooler on it. They took the transmission cooler off back in 2018. You can buy kits that have a transmission cooler and thermostat they’re not hard to install. I installed one in my 2021 tundra they’re not hard to put in at all. Well worth it I saw transmission temperatures dropped dramatically and that is the life of your transmission were talking about. I also have a 2017 tundra and that truck came with the transmission cooler already installed. So I could compare the temperatures of the transmission and see the differences that’s what made me install the cooler.

My 2017 tundra has the transmission cooler they took it off for the 19 version forward. Not a problem I installed a high-quality aftermarket cooler with the factory thermostat and factory hoses and piping. All available on the Internet with a kit. Definitely worth installing much lower transmission temperatures now. Just like my 2017. I also plan on keeping these trucks till I’m dead.

Hi Scotty, I've long been a fan of Toyota products. I have a 2006 Tundra that I bought new. It has 176,000 trouble free miles on it. I also own a 1987 Toyota P/U that I purchased new and it has 240,000 miles on it and it still runs like a top. A few days ago I purchased a 2021 Tundra with only 4,049 miles on it. It's like a new truck and I'm excited to own it. I'm older now and it will probably be the last truck I will ever own. I think you're right about the Tundras they seem to last forever. I was very disappointed when Toyota dropped the V8 engine in 2022 and I don't feel like the newer ones will hold up as well as the older ones. Thanks for the great videos.

I have a 2013 and I absolutely love it. Yes they have terrible gas mileage, but the torque is honestly one of my favorite aspects about the truck. I have a 4x4 and I rarely need to put it into four wheel drive. At this point, it’s a challenge for me to see if I can go through some of these relatively rigorous trails with even having to switch it on.

I’ve got a 13’ 4.6L 2WD. Never been stuck, I live in North GA mountains it’s all inclines, gravel, and mud. Never put anything other than street tires on it even though I prefer A/Ts.

Live in Austin, bought my '19 1794 new in July of '20. I was able to get the TRD Pro dual exhaust, spray-in bedliner, and the heavy rubber bed mat, all for under $50k.
I love the TRD Pro features, but I've added similar side steps, satin black wheels and bigger M/T tires. It's such a great truck!
A new Tundra that's loaded with every option other than the Fox suspension for under $50k? It sure keeps me happy. One of the best things I've done in years.

I have a '22 Tacoma TRD sport 6MT (thank you Toyota) in the same color (Lunar Rock). It's a pretty unique color, even within the flat gray category. Under various lighting conditions it's sometimes a flat primer gray, other times more minty. Plus it seems to hide dirt and salt well. IMO it looks great on both trucks and the 4Runner, but I don't love it on the RAV4. Of course tastes vary, but it seems LR has been a popular choice.

I fully agree with you. I have owned Ford's, Chevy's, Nissan and Dodge and out of these I liked the Nissan Titan the best, I owned 2. I purchased a 2016 Ford F150 with the Ecoboost and really had no issues, but the paint quality and fit and finish of the truck was just not up to par. I did like the motor though. I put a lot of miles on my vehicles in a short amount of time. The best MPG I got out of my F150 was 22 mpg and that was rare. If your running 75-80 on the interstate (like I do), it dropped to 17. I had never owned a Toyota, but know a lot of people with Tundra's and they swear by them. I decided to ditch the F150 and purchased a 2020 Tundra Platinum 4X4 Crew Cab. It was somewhat hard to find. IMHO, it was the best deal out there vs the F150 Platinum and Chevy/GMC. I absolutely love everything about the truck and don't think it is outdated at all. I did not want to wait on the New V6 turbo model, I wanted the tried and true V8. It lacks no power and believe it or not, on the road running 75-80 I am getting 19 mpg. The more "crap" they put on these newer trucks, the more problems. Enjoy the new truck!

I bought my 2021 Lunar Rock in March of 2021 right when the semiconductor shortage started. I was lucky enough to get the truck for MSRP at 55K. Two years later I have 25K miles on it and still love it as much as the first day I bought it.

The only bad thing with the TRD Tundra is it doesn’t have a rear locker, never understood why the top of the line off road doesn’t come with one.

Tacoma’s don’t get that much better gas mileage than tundras do. If you are using stock tires. Maybe 2 miles per gallon in the real world.

I’m with you all the way. If you don’t want a gas guzzler DON’T buy a big engine. I upgraded from a Tacoma TRD to a Tundra TRD/Sport for towing my toys, no disappointment for gasoline-engine. Any bigger job, I head for diesel!
